The Taoist Taiqing withdrew, and the Legalists settled the world.

Xuan Tian thought to himself: This Laozi doesn't want to give up the orthodoxy of the Human Sect. Fine, I'll give him a break. He'll owe me a favor, and it'll be easier to talk to him in the future.

“That would be good, but the two countries should eventually be unified. I see purple energy rising from the lower realm, indicating that one of them possesses the aura of a human emperor and is destined to become the human emperor,” Xuan Tian said casually.

Lao Jun narrowed his eyes, realizing that Xuan Tian meant for both sides to back down and start anew.

The schemes of fifty-five families led to the unification of the Han dynasty.

Xuan Tian's words made Lao Jun reconsider. Xuan Tian's words clearly indicated that another family would unify the human race, and the position of the Human Emperor would be changed. This was the best solution at the moment. The two Qin states were different from the Eastern Zhou. If one family were to unify the world, the other would not agree. If that were the case, there would only be another battle. However, the rise of Buddhism was now a certainty. No matter how powerful Penglai Island was, it did not establish its own religion. Lao Jun was not afraid of it becoming too powerful, but it was not good to argue with Xuan Tian at this time. If the two families fought, the third family would benefit.

Only by starting afresh and establishing a separate entity can the interests of both parties be best guaranteed.

"That's fine, but those mortals are ignorant and still need us to educate them." Lao Jun immediately began to bargain, as he would never give up the status of the orthodox Taoism.

Xuan Tian looked at Lao Jun and said, "As a disciple of the Xuanmen sect, I should do something."

Xuan Tian was also negotiating the price; no matter what, he had to get a share.

Laozi remained silent for a long time before saying, "The Legalists are too rigid and do not conform to the people; the Mohists are weak and good at defense but not good for the country; the Military Strategists only manage military affairs and do not care about people's livelihood; the Confucianists have loyalty, filial piety, propriety and righteousness, which are in line with people's livelihood and national affairs."

Laozi's words were not without reason. Legalism emphasized law, which was not conducive to the spread of Taoism. Mohism was good, but it was not conducive to national affairs. Military strategists only controlled military power, which was not in line with the major issues of people's livelihood. No matter which of these three schools was unsuitable for national governance or the development of Taoism, Laozi believed that the Confucian doctrine of the mean was the most suitable.

Xuan Tian had already secretly agreed in his heart. Upon hearing this, he simply said, "Taoism is the state religion, and Confucianism is the state governance." This statement clearly distinguished the two schools of thought and divided their power.

Lao Jun nodded without speaking, then vanished in a flash, leaving only Xuan Tian alone. A voice echoed in the hall, muttering, "What is this? Dividing the spoils or something?"

In fact, things in the world are sometimes quite clear. There are no eternal enemies. This saying is true. Right now, the fate of the people of the two southeastern continents has been decided by Laozi and Xuantian after a discussion. Sage, you are indeed a great thief!

Within the Southern Continent of the lower realm, the Qin Kingdom had only been unified for a little over a decade when suddenly, one day, purple qi rose above the land, and the Purple Star Emperor descended, being born in Pei County of the Qin Kingdom.

At that time, Qin was in turmoil. Prime Minister Li Si took the opportunity to retire. The Legalist disciples in the country withdrew from the administration of the government. Traitors rose up everywhere. The eunuch Zhao Gao seized control of the government, installed a new emperor, and imposed a tyrannical regime. He deceived the emperor and the people, making life unbearable for the people of Qin.

In his early years, a son was born in Pei County to the Liu family. He was named Bang. At the time of his birth, there was a great purple aura in the sky, which was the sign of the Purple Emperor's aura. This child was exceptionally intelligent after birth. He could walk at three months old and speak at one year old. His personality was different from others. In his childhood, he was bold and unrestrained. He did not like poetry and books, but he liked to make friends in the martial arts world and was tolerant of others.

As he grew older, he was appointed as the head of a pavilion in Sishui (a minor official in charge of a ten-mile radius). One day, while traveling in the Xianyang area, he encountered the Qin Emperor's army and was filled with admiration. He blurted out: "These are true men!"

Liu Bang married a woman named Lü Zhi, who was also a talented and ambitious woman. At the end of the Qin Dynasty, peasant uprisings broke out, and Lü Zhi urged Liu Bang to rise up against Qin, but he did not like it.

One day, Liu Bang, in his capacity as a village head, was escorting convicts from Pei County to Lishan. Many of the convicts escaped along the way. Liu Bang estimated that they would all escape by the time they reached Lishan, so when they reached the Fengxi Marsh, he stopped to drink wine and, under the cover of night, released all the convicts.

Liu Bang said, "You should all flee for your lives. From now on, I will also be going far away!" More than ten strong men among the laborers were willing to follow him. Liu Bang, under the influence of alcohol, took a shortcut through the swamp at night, letting one man go ahead. The man in front returned and reported, "There is a large snake blocking the road ahead. We should turn back."

Liu Bang, already drunk, said, "What is there to fear when a man walks!" He then rushed ahead, drew his sword, and slew the giant snake. The snake was cut in two, the road was cleared, and he continued walking for several miles. Now extremely drunk, he lay down on the ground. Those behind him came to the spot where the snake had been slain and saw an old woman weeping in the darkness. Someone asked her why she was crying, and the old woman said, "Someone killed my child, and I am weeping for him."

Someone asked, "Why was your child killed?" The old woman replied, "My child was the son of the White Emperor, who transformed into a snake and blocked the road. Now he has been killed by the son of the Red Emperor, and that's why I'm crying." The crowd thought the old woman was lying and was about to beat her when she suddenly disappeared. Those who followed caught up with Liu Bang, who awoke. They told him what had happened, and Liu Bang was secretly pleased and became even more arrogant. His followers gradually began to fear him.

In the 7th year of Qin San Shi Huang, which is 209 BC, a large-scale peasant uprising suddenly broke out in the Qin state. The uprising quickly spread to the Southern Continent and the Eastern Continent. The uprising spread rapidly like wildfire on the grassland. After Chen Sheng and Wu Guang led the rebel army to capture Chen (now Huaiyang, Henan), Chen Sheng established the "Zhang Chu" regime, which openly opposed the Qin Dynasty.

At this time, the magistrate of Pei County also wanted to respond and continue to control the county. Xiao He and Cao Can were his key officials, and they advised him to summon back the people who had fled the county. This would both increase their strength and prevent future troubles. The magistrate thought this made sense, so he asked Liu Bang's close friend Fan Kuai to bring Liu Bang back. Liu Bang then led his men back. However, the magistrate regretted his decision, fearing that Liu Bang would be difficult to control upon his return and might even be killed by Liu Bang, which would be like letting a wolf into the house. Therefore, he ordered the city gates closed and prepared to arrest Xiao He and Cao Can. Upon hearing the news, Xiao He and Cao Can hurriedly fled outside the city. Liu Bang shot a message into the city, inciting the people to rise up and kill the treacherous magistrate, and to defend their homeland together. The people were very dissatisfied with the magistrate who had never been kind to them. After killing the magistrate, they opened the city gates to welcome Liu Bang in, and then elected him as the Duke of Pei to lead the uprising. Liu Bang, in accordance with the will of the people, set up an altar, proclaimed himself the son of the Red Emperor, and led the people to raise the banner of rebellion against Qin. This was September of the first year of Qin Er Shi (209 BC), and Liu Bang was already forty-eight years old.
