No wonder Sang Rong saved him, took him in, and even tried her best to mold him into someone like the person in the painting.
He lost his temper and refused to see her for several days. When she came to find him, he pushed her away and roared at her with tears of grievance in his eyes: "I am Ling Xiao! I am Ling Xiao! Not anyone else! You clearly taught me martial arts, but you won't let me acknowledge you as my master? Why do you always look at me like that? I just feel disgusted!"
He was extremely angry, that's why he said those things.
He was afraid that Sang Rong's concern for him was only for someone else, and he was unwilling to accept this, even jealous. Afterwards, he regretted it terribly, fearing that if he revealed the truth, Sang Rong would abandon him forever.
But things were much better than he had imagined.
It seemed that from that moment on, she never forced him to learn anything again. It didn't matter if he didn't practice martial arts, read books, paint, or do anything else, as long as he was happy.
She never imagined that it was that incident, that unintentional remark, that completely extinguished her unspoken love.
"Now, where can I find you... Sang Rong, tell me, tell me..."
He held the cold stone statue, and gradually, a look of heart-wrenching despair appeared on his face.
Amidst the bustling world, fate plays tricks on us; another tribulation in this fleeting life.
Different paths lead to different ends.
Full of Stars Palace, Cute Tiger Crouching (by Bai Niao Jin)
(one)
I am a tiger spirit, female.
Su Daidai, that sly fox, was bragging again about how many men she seduced yesterday: "Sigh... there aren't many good men in this world. What love and affection? Aren't they all after our beauty..."
"Then why do you date so many men?" I asked, a little dismissive.
Su Daidai glanced at me: "There are some things that you, who have never been down the mountain and have never been with a man, will never understand."
I sat up straight and slammed my hand down on the low table next to me, smashing the pile of fruit on it to the ground.
"What? Did I say something wrong? With your looks, you're destined to be a spinster for a thousand years." Su Daidai stood up gracefully.
"Aren't you afraid I'll eat you up?!" I shouted, the voice echoing faintly in the spacious and magnificent hall.
Su Daidai tossed the peach at my feet: "Eat me? Humph, what a joke! Wait till you dare to eat it!"
I am a tiger, the king of beasts, born to rule this forest. But I cannot eat meat; it gives me a stomachache.
I am a tiger, but none of the demons are afraid of me. Even that fox spirit Su Daidai can humiliate me. Don't think I don't know; they all call me a sick cat behind my back.
I have a very large palace, which was built for me by all the beasts when I first became king. Later, the beasts discovered that I was actually quite useless, and when monsters from other mountains harassed us, I was no match for them. By then, the palace was more than half completed, with only half a roof left to be laid. So for the past hundred years, I have been able to see the stars and the moon every night.
I've lived all these years, and I've never had a confidant, never descended the mountain, and never been with a man. I don't want to be this spineless coward anymore. I've decided to go down the mountain tomorrow, find someone I can confide in, and find a man.
(two)
Ancient road, west wind, man.
The man walking towards them was very handsome, with red lips, white teeth, and exquisite features. His long, ink-black hair was loosely tied up with a white jade hairpin. He wore a snow-white, wide-sleeved brocade robe, with luxurious light gold flowing cloud patterns embroidered on the lapels and cuffs.
I stopped the man, who looked at me suspiciously for a moment, then started to laugh. I felt very lucky to have run into such a handsome man as soon as I came down the mountain.
My fingers traced my belt, slowly. I raised my chin, lowered my eyelashes, and gently bit my lip. Hmm?! How much should I bite? Never mind, I'll bite it all in. I want to be both innocent and alluring; men love that…
And what else? Oh, right! I remember now, Su Daidai once said that clothes should be taken off slowly.
I slowly, very slowly, loosened my belt, and my outer garment slipped down. In the softest, most seductive voice, tinged with a breath, I said, "Mmm...you're so vigorous, young master..."
Why isn't he smiling anymore? That's strange, Su Daidai clearly said that.
The man was about to leave, so I quickly grabbed him.
The man's gaze fell on my hand gripping his sleeve. He paused, and with a slight smile, he took my hand in return. His palm was cool, and with a little force, I fell into his arms, his other hand naturally wrapping around my waist.
The man lowered his head, his warm breath brushing against my face. His eyes were downcast, and his long eyelashes fell. His gaze was fixed on my lips.
I stood ramrod straight with my fists clenched, wondering what he was going to do, when suddenly I heard a sneer. "You're putting on a terrible act." The man released me and turned away with a calm expression.
"You're the one who's terrible...you're the one pretending!" I was afraid he would run away, so I grabbed his wrist and tried to pull him this way, but I couldn't move him.
After a moment, the man smiled gently, his smile dazzling: "Tell me, what do you want?"
Without hesitation, I said, "I want you to be with me and be my man."
The man continued to laugh: "What if I don't?"
"Then I'll eat you."
"How do you want to eat this?" He looked her up and down.
So I transformed into my true form—a white tiger with a large, imposing forehead. I scratched at his clothes with my claws, but the man deftly dodged, saying with a half-smile, "So you're a tigress after all..."
"Roar—" I strutted proudly, the king of beasts, I'm not just for show.
"Remember, my name is Hua Cijing." The man smiled and drew a slender, soft silver whip from his waist.
Hua Cijing lightly touched her toes and leaped nimbly three feet away. With a flick of her wrist, she unleashed several beautiful whip-like patterns, like a nimble snake.
