Soul Gathering Banner

Laozi dodged their attacks with a swift movement, then unleashed a beam of celestial light to immobilize them. Just as he was about to explain, hundreds of magical treasures flew towards him, followed by countless colorful spells, like fireworks. Laozi quickly cast spells to protect himself and his companions, deflecting the treasures and spells. However, while he could dodge the treasures, he couldn't avoid the hidden projectiles of stones and mud. When the dust settled, Laozi's once silver-white hair and beard were now covered in dust, as if he had crawled out of a mud pile.

It turned out that Nie Feng had learned of the arrival of a demon and immediately led his people to the scene. Since the massacre of the witch and demon, the human race had intensified its training, making everyone a soldier and reacting swiftly. Before the demon even arrived, those with magical treasures unleashed their attacks, while those without used spells. Even the ignorant children and women picked up mud and stones from the ground and threw them at the demon.

Two waves of inexplicable attacks, followed by a barrage of concentrated firepower, were enough to make Lao Tzu lose his temper, especially the last wave. Although Lao Tzu usually appears indifferent, he is actually very concerned about his reputation, and this time he completely lost face.

Lao Tzu's lips trembled, his beard shook wildly, and he was extremely angry. He had already decided to take action. Even if he didn't preach, he would cover up this matter. If word got out, how could he face anyone in the future?

Just as they were about to strike and kill these people, a figure suddenly flew in from afar and shouted, "So it's Senior Brother Laozi! Please forgive Zhen Yuanzi for not being hospitable enough to welcome you from afar." It was Zhen Yuanzi who had rushed over upon hearing the news. He saw a beam of Taiqing Immortal Light from afar and knew that it was Laozi who had come, so he spoke.

Before Laozi could clean up, Zhen Yuanzi arrived. Thinking that he had completely lost face, Laozi turned purple and remained silent.

Zhen Yuanzi descended from the clouds, intending to greet Laozi, but upon seeing an old Taoist priest standing opposite him, covered in ash, with a purplish-red face and remaining silent, he found him quite unlike Laozi. Full of questions, he was about to ask when Laozi said, "Fellow Daoist Zhen Yuan, I have other important matters to attend to, so I will not disturb you any longer." With that, he hurriedly departed.

Zhen Yuanzi was completely bewildered by Laozi's actions, so he summoned Nie Fengshi to ask him what had happened. He was secretly delighted, but he couldn't laugh out loud. Instead, he couldn't help but twitch his lips and said to Nie Fengshi with a strange expression, "That Taoist priest was the first disciple of Hongjun Daozu, and he was a fellow disciple of your human race's holy father, Xuantian Daoist." After saying that, he hurriedly left.

These words terrified Nie Feng, who broke out in a cold sweat, realizing she had made a terrible mistake. Not knowing what Zhen Yuanzi meant, she left after speaking. Just as she was about to ask him for a solution, Qingfeng Mingyue told her that Zhen Yuanzi refused to see any guests.

Two days later, Qingfeng Mingyue said to Nie Fengshi, "I don't know what's wrong with my master. He's been laughing nonstop since he came back yesterday. I've never seen him so happy before. What happened yesterday?" Nie Fengshi then told the two of them what had happened the day before. After listening, Qingfeng Mingyue, like Zhen Yuanzi, hurriedly left. According to the residents near Wuzhuang Temple, crazy laughter kept coming from Wuzhuang Temple that day, which made people's hair stand on end.

Thirteen Laozi accepts Xuandu as a disciple

After Zhen Yuanzi revealed Laozi's identity to Nie Feng, he was filled with shock and fear. It was said that after this battle, Laozi would not be able to leave the mountain for some time and would stay in Shouyang Mountain to cultivate Taoism. Here, we must mention the matter of the Three Pure Ones splitting up.

When Xuan Tian beat Di Jun last time, he deeply resented the Three Pure Ones for plotting against the human race. So he threw the hundred-zhang giant that Di Jun had created using the Dharma Image of Heaven and Earth onto Kunlun Mountain, which crushed half of Kunlun Mountain. Although the spiritual veins were not damaged, it was impossible to restore its former beautiful appearance for a while. Moreover, the Three Pure Ones' dojos were all gathered here, and now it seemed a bit insufficient. Originally, the Three Pure Ones all wanted Kunlun Mountain as their dojo, but Laozi saw that Yuanshi really liked Kunlun Mountain, so he took the initiative to give it up. Once Laozi gave it up, Yuanshi no longer cared about Tongtian and focused on making trouble for Tongtian, which annoyed Tongtian so much that he finally moved away. Laozi now lives on Shouyang Mountain.

More than five hundred years have passed. It seems that Lao Tzu felt the storm had passed before he came out of Shouyang Mountain. During this time, the human race developed rapidly, using Wuzhuang Temple as a base to quickly expand to the surrounding areas. After Taiyi was imprisoned, the Wu and Yao races became much more peaceful, and there were no more disturbances or troubles caused by the human race. Even if some unknown little demons came to cause trouble, they were wiped out by the experts among the human race.

This time, Laozi was smarter. He first found a place and transformed into a young Taoist priest before slowly arriving at a human village. This time, the villagers didn't ask him any questions and quietly did their jobs.

Now I was puzzled. Why was no one coming to greet him this time? I saw a child by the edge of the village, all alone. Several children were playing in the distance. The child didn't play with the other children. I felt strange, so I went up to ask the child.

"May I ask your surname, young friend? And your age?" After two hundred years of cultivation, Laozi has matured considerably and is no longer so arrogant. His cultivation has become even more profound.

"I dare not accept such praise. I am just a little boy, Gou'er, seven years old this year. What brings you here, Daoist Master?" The child was quite polite.

"I, a humble Taoist, have been traveling and have come here to see this prosperous place," Lao Tzu replied, pleased that the child was quite sensible.

"So it's an honored guest. Please forgive my rudeness." Upon hearing this, the child immediately bowed.

"It's alright, get up. I have something to ask you."

"Please ask, Daoist Master, I will answer to the best of my knowledge."

"Why don't you play with those children?" Lao Tzu asked.

"Because my father died early, my mother raised me single-handedly. Some ignorant people in the village often bullied my family, and the other children wouldn't play with me," Gou'er said sadly.

"Oh? I see. Dog, I've come from afar and am a little thirsty. May I come to your house and ask for a cup of water?" Laozi said.

“Master, you have come from afar, so it is only right that you do this. Please follow me,” Gou’er said, leading the way.

Arriving at Gou'er's house, but not finding the mother he had mentioned, Laozi was puzzled when Gou'er suddenly rushed into the house, followed by a loud cry. Laozi went inside and saw Gou'er's mother lying on the ground, already dead. She had died prematurely from overwork and exhaustion.

Seeing that Gou'er was crying so sadly, Laozi asked, "Gou'er, stop crying. Let's bury your mother as soon as possible."

The surrounding villagers heard the crying from Gou'er's house and rushed over. Seeing that Gou'er's mother had died, everyone was saddened. Although some bad people often harassed Gou'er's family, most of the villagers were kind-hearted and often helped Gou'er's family.

Upon seeing a stranger, someone asked, "Where do you come from, Taoist priest?"

Lao Tzu said, “I have traveled far and come here today to ask for a cup of water, but I did not expect that the owner of this place has passed away. I am filled with regret.”

"Honored guest, I should serve you tea and water, but unfortunately my mother has passed away and I have to hold a funeral. Please forgive me for not being able to entertain you, Taoist priest." At this time, Gou'er had already finished crying. Seeing that Laozi was still there, he wiped away his tears and said to Laozi.

"It's alright. I've come from afar with no particular business. I'll perform a meritorious ritual for your mother, as it is a matter of fate between us," Laozi said.
