Xuan Tian intervenes to save Zhen Yuan

Xuan Tian and Zhen Yuanzi arrived at Wuzhuang Temple together. After entering the reception hall, the two sat down as host and guest, respectively. Zhen Yuanzi ordered Qingfeng and Mingyue to serve tea to Xuan Tian and picked some spiritual fruits. He said, "Fellow Daoist, please forgive me. I should have picked some ginseng fruits for you to taste since you came to my Wuzhuang Temple. However, my ginseng fruit tree was severely damaged in the battle with the Styx River and its essence is insufficient. It still needs to recuperate and I'm afraid it will not recover for a long time."

Xuan Tian also knew Zhen Yuanzi's difficulties and said to Zhen Yuanzi, "Fellow Daoist, you are too kind. I also know your difficulties. Although I regret that I was unable to taste the famous ginseng fruit in the prehistoric world this time, I can only blame myself for not having the fortune to do so."

Xuan Tian then took out Hong Yun's Nine-Nine Soul-Scattering Gourd and handed it to Zhen Yuanzi.

Zhen Yuanzi bowed and accepted the gourd. Looking at it in his hand, he couldn't help but shed tears. He thought that he and Hongyun had known each other since they had taken human form. They had been friends for hundreds of years and were like brothers. Now that Hongyun was in trouble, he shed tears because he was helpless to save Hongyun and because he had lost a close friend.

Seeing Zhen Yuanzi's deep sense of loyalty and righteousness, Xuan Tian sighed inwardly, "Hong Yun is a truly good person. People make friends with people of similar character. Zhen Yuanzi is a real man, valuing relationships and loyalty. However, Zhen Yuanzi is more cautious than Hong Yun."

"Fellow Daoist, please accept my condolences. I doubt Fellow Daoist Hongyun would ever see you in this state," Xuantian advised.

Zhen Yuanzi wiped away his tears with his sleeve and said, "I have lost my composure and made you laugh, fellow Daoist."

“Fellow Daoist, there’s no need for this. This is true character. I’m happy that Fellow Daoist Hongyun has such a loyal friend as you. But don’t be sad yet, as far as I know, Hongyun is not actually dead.”

"Is what you say true, fellow Daoist?" Xuan Tian's words shocked Zhen Yuanzi, who stood up and asked urgently, "How do you know that Brother Hongyun is not dead?"

Xuan Tian waved for Zhen Yuanzi to sit down and said, "Fellow Daoist, do you think I'm joking with you? Let me explain in detail."

It turned out that Xuan Tian knew Hong Yun was not dead from the moment he obtained the Red Cloud Gourd, and that apart from Hong Jun, probably no one could kill him. Hong Yun obtained the Primordial Purple Qi, and although he couldn't comprehend the Great Dao Laws within it, he had refined the Primordial Purple Qi into his own primordial spirit. After Hong Yun's self-destruction, a wisp of his true spirit remained within the Primordial Purple Qi. Unless one was a saint, no one could separate this wisp of true spirit from the Primordial Purple Qi. At this moment, there were no other saints besides Hong Jun, so it could be said that no one could kill him except Hong Jun. Xuan Tian had also obtained the Primordial Purple Qi, so he understood its characteristics better than Zhen Yuanzi. From the moment he obtained the Red Cloud Gourd, he used his divine sense to probe Hong Yun's true spirit and knew that Hong Yun was indeed not dead.

As Xuan Tian spoke, he observed Zhen Yuanzi's expression. He had initially thought Zhen Yuanzi might still harbor some desire for the Primordial Purple Qi, but after he finished speaking, he hadn't seen anything amiss with Zhen Yuanzi. Especially when he heard that Hongyun's true spirit hadn't dissipated, the expression on Zhen Yuanzi's face was absolutely genuine, truly regarding Hongyun as a brother. For this, Xuan Tian even blamed himself for judging a gentleman by his own petty standards.

Xuan Tian then told Zhen Yuanzi to rest and recuperate for the time being, and that Hong Yun would have his own opportunity when the time was right. After that, he left Wuzhuang Temple and flew towards the Thirty-Three Heavens.

Meanwhile, those divine beings who had been watching Xuan Tian fight Minghe from the void were all somewhat confused. First, they were terrified by Xuan Tian's profound cultivation, then puzzled by Minghe's inexplicable escape. They couldn't understand how Minghe could change so quickly. Neither they nor Minghe knew; they only felt a sudden, inexplicable pain at the back of his head, followed by excruciating pain throughout his body, rendering him unresponsive. None of them had seen the use of the Yin Finger, as it was all obscured by the lotus flower. Furthermore, Minghe's mind was preoccupied with the Measuring Ruler, so he hadn't noticed either.

However, everyone knows one thing: Xuan Tian is not someone to be trifled with.

As for Xuan Tian, after leaving Wuzhuang Temple, he flew towards the Thirty-Three Heavens and arrived in the Chaos. Outside Zixiao Palace, he saw Hao Tian outside the palace and went to greet him.

"Why is Junior Brother Haotian here?"

"Senior brother, the Dao Ancestor ordered me to wait here. Please follow me." With that, Haotian led Xuantian into the Zixiao Palace, through the courtyard, and into the inner hall.

Hongjun sat on a futon, with a character behind him, simple and elegant, yet vague, as if countless great principles were hidden within it, making it irresistible to look at.

Xuan Tian stepped forward, bowed, and asked, "Master, I have traveled through the primordial world for hundreds of years and have seen and learned a great deal, but I still do not understand the question, 'Is Heaven unjust or just?' I beg you to enlighten me."

Hongjun gazed at Xuan Tian below for a long time. "Hongyun is a kind and virtuous person, possessing great fortune. Under the Heavenly Dao, he had his own opportunities. Of the six seats in Zixiao Palace, Hongyun possessed one, which he later gave to Zhunti. Listening to the Dao in Zixiao Palace offered great opportunities, but Hongyun's pursuit of the Dao was insufficient, and he was punished by the Heavenly Dao, thus losing this opportunity. Is this the injustice of the Heavenly Dao? Later, I bestowed upon him the opportunity to become a saint, which Hongyun obtained, yet he did not seek the Dao. Furthermore, because of the previous grudge against Kunpeng, he incurred this calamity. Is the Heavenly Dao unjust? All living beings have their own opportunities; even that blade of grass you see..." There is a way of its own; it grows on the ground, nourished by wind and rain. Even a blade of grass knows to strive to grow. Hongyun possesses great supernatural powers, yet he doesn't think of cultivating himself but seeks external things, failing to seize his own opportunities. If he could become a saint, how could that be reasonable? Cultivators are inherently defying the heavens; to act in accordance with the heavens is like rowing against the current—if you don't advance, you fall behind. Fortunately, he has deep blessings. Although he has suffered this tribulation, it is enough for him to realize his shortcomings. Isn't that also a kind of blessing? You should calmly cultivate; when the opportunity arrives, you will understand.”

Upon hearing the Dao Ancestor's words, Xuan Tian immediately understood. Under the Heavenly Dao, everyone has their own opportunities. If one seizes them, one will gain them; if one fails to seize them, how can one blame the Heavenly Dao for being unfair? He bowed deeply to the Dao Ancestor again, then left the palace and headed down to Penglai.
