Chapter 633

Xiang Fei next to me was still sleeping, and I didn't bother to pay attention, so I continued to sleep as well.

I was asleep when I was woken up again. It was Danmu Yaju next to me. "Master Liu, the driver just said that because of the large landslide ahead, it's estimated that the road won't be open today. It will have to wait until at least midnight. It's already dark. What should we do?"

I rubbed my eyes and looked outside. It was already dark. The other tourists in the car all looked anxious. If they couldn't get back to the county, they would have to spend the night in the car.

However, in the Qiang region, it gets quite cold at night during this season. Since everyone is going back home tonight, no one brought many warm clothes with them, so they're going to have a tough time.

Xiang Fei and I don't care, but we think these tourists from the city won't be able to stand it. Although there is air conditioning on the bus, it won't help much.

As anxious as we were, since the road was blocked, we could only wait in the car. Xiang Fei and I simply went back to sleep.

In a hazy dream, I had another strange dream. The scene was blurry, and it seemed like I was walking alone on a vast, empty land, surrounded by darkness, with a vague voice calling my name.

I followed the sound and kept walking, and as I walked, I suddenly saw a mountain of corpses piled up in front of me. The bloody scene immediately jolted me awake.

When he woke up, he found himself covered in sweat. Danmu Yaju asked, "Master Liu, what happened to you?"

I shook my head. "It's nothing," I thought to myself. I've been having some strange dreams lately. "Could it be because I haven't been getting enough rest and am too tired?"

Looking around, I saw that most of the tourists were lying drowsily in their seats, and a few were playing on their phones. Xiang Fei was also sleeping, but I noticed that the driver was not on the bus.

I asked a tourist about the time; it was past 10 p.m. and there were too many landslides ahead, so the rescue team hadn't arrived yet.

Looking at the night sky outside, it was fairly clear, with a faint moonlight shining down. A dark cloud came from the west and blocked the moon. Taking a deep breath, a bad premonition suddenly rose in my heart, "Tonight... is a little special."

There hasn't been much heavy rain recently, so landslides shouldn't be a problem. And the timing is so coincidental—it happened just as we got here. We looked around earlier, and the mountains were covered with trees; there weren't any particularly steep sections. How could a landslide have occurred?

"Whatever, as the saying goes, when soldiers come, generals will block them; when water comes, earth will dam it. What's meant to happen will happen," I comforted myself.

Danmu Yaju looked outside and suddenly said, "I'm a little scared."

"What are you afraid of? There are so many people here."

"I feel like there are eyes watching us from outside, like they're going to swallow us up. Master Liu, do you think those people will come looking for trouble tonight?"

Hearing her say that, my heart skipped a beat. It was indeed possible. It seemed like tonight would be a sleepless night.

I shook Xiang Fei awake and told him my worries. He was silent for a while, then said, "Let's take it one step at a time, as long as we don't drag innocent people into this."

At this moment, a young man sitting in the back also came over and said, "I graduated from the history department and I used to study the culture of ethnic minorities in western Sichuan. There are so many mysteries in this area. You wouldn't happen to be ancient Chinese feng shui masters, would you?"

You believe in this too?

"Of course I believe it. Our teacher told us that Onmyoji is one of the most mysterious practices in China's thousands of years of civilization. It can be traced back to the origin of the Chinese nation and is inextricably linked to Chinese civilization. Most of the upheavals and dynastic changes in history are related to Onmyoji. Are you right or wrong?"

"Hehe, we're nowhere near that good. We're nowhere near as good as Onmyoji. We've only learned a little bit of the basics," I replied with a smile.

"Are you Taoist priests from Maoshan, catching ghosts and exorcising zombies?" another chubby man asked.

"There aren't that many Taoist priests from Maoshan. What you see on TV isn't necessarily the real thing."

Then I noticed that the driver, who had been missing, opened the front door and got in, sitting in his seat. Because the interior lights were too dim, I couldn't see him very clearly. The driver just sat there, motionless.

He didn't turn around, as if he were asleep, and the atmosphere... became a little strange.

I patted Xiang Fei on the shoulder and whispered, "Something's not right with the driver."

"Shh," Xiang Fei gestured for silence, "Let's wait and see."

The lights were dim, and I stared at the driver's back until I was almost asleep. Just then, the driver finally moved. He didn't stand up, but started the car, shifted gears, and sped forward. Everyone in the car was startled by this sudden turn of events. By the time they reacted, it was too late. The car crashed into a pile of rubble. At that speed, the car would probably fall apart. Would anyone inside survive?

"Stop him!" Xiang Fei shouted.

At this critical moment, Xiang Fei leaped forward like a large bird, striking the driver with a talisman and then another talisman in the driver's hand.

I ran over to help. Xiang Fei restrained the driver, and I quickly stepped on the brakes, turned off the engine, and pulled out the car key. I looked outside and gasped. If it had been two seconds later, we would have crashed.

The driver chuckled sinisterly. When we looked, we saw that his face was pale and there was a red line on his forehead. "It's a blood curse," Xiang Fei said in surprise.

Then we pointed at it, and the driver, like a madman, burst into laughter. Suddenly, his strength surged, and he broke free from our control, opened the car door, jumped out, and crashed into a rock.
