Seeing Huang Taiji about to leave, Houtu quickly rose to try and persuade him to stay. However, Xuantian refused to get involved in any more karma and insisted on leaving. In the end, Houtu escorted him out of the tribe. Just as he was about to depart, he suddenly saw Houtu's tribespeople sculpting figures from clay. Huang Taiji was astonished and asked Houtu. Houtu replied, "Our Wu tribe was formed from the essence of Pangu's blood. However, Pangu's blood essence is limited, so the Wu tribe has always had a small population. It was only later that the ancestral Wu thought of using their own blood essence to create Wu people. Although creating Wu people from one's own blood essence results in some loss of cultivation, the ancestral Wu can recover it in a few hundred years. Moreover, those formed from the blood essence of the ancestral Wu are more likely to become Great Wu. What you just saw was them creating Wu people."
Xuan Tian looked at it and suddenly realized his own destiny. He then asked Hou Tu for the method of creating witches. Hou Tu didn't care, as the method was only effective for the witch clan and she wasn't afraid that other clans would learn it. So she gave it to Xuan Tian.
After leaving the Houtu tribe, Xuantian headed towards the East Sea. Perhaps even the heavens were moved by his sincerity, for after traveling on the vast ocean for over a hundred years, he finally discovered Penglai Island at the confluence of the East and South Seas. Xuantian was overjoyed, for Penglai was the most famous immortal island in later generations and had always been a sacred place in his heart.
The Eight Mysterious Heavens obtained a treasure named Azure Lotus, and a famous sage was known as Hongjun.
Xuan Tian's painstaking efforts moved the heavens, and he finally found Penglai Island. Just as he was about to set foot on the island, he saw that the island was surrounded by a hazy mist, as if there was an extremely powerful array around it. After much thought, Xuan Tian finally broke through the array. It turned out that Penglai had fallen here from the chaos after the creation of the world, and thus this innate chaotic array had formed around it. Perfect, he was spared the trouble of setting up an array to protect the island.
Passing through the innate chaotic array outside the island, Xuan Tian entered the island. Indeed, Penglai Island resembled a true immortal island, a paradise on earth. The spiritual energy was incredibly dense, almost dripping with it. Xuan Tian walked towards the center of the island and saw a lake in the middle of the array, with a 12th-grade azure lotus flower on its surface. He was overjoyed, for the array outside the island used this 12th-grade azure lotus as its core. Xuan Tian immediately went forward and refined the 12th-grade azure lotus, subsequently learning the whereabouts of the abbot and Yingzhou. Overjoyed, he then used his great magical power to move the two islands over, setting up a Heaven, Earth, and Man Three Talents Array. Even with Xuan Tian's profound and extraordinary magical power, he was exhausted.
In the time that followed, Xuan Tian filled the three islands with all sorts of killing formations, maze formations, and illusion formations, making them extremely dangerous. Even a quasi-saint would not be able to withstand them without his personal instruction on how to escape the formations.
Then Xuan Tian organized all his cultivation techniques. Because of his transmigration, he now possessed the most complete set of techniques besides those of Hong Jun. He had techniques from Taoism, Buddhism, the Witch Clan, and the Demon Clan. Previously, due to limitations in his cultivation level, he couldn't fully integrate these techniques. Now that his cultivation level had increased, he needed to lay a solid foundation for becoming a saint in the future, so he couldn't be careless.
Xuantian built a palace, the Dutian Palace, in the middle of Penglai Island. He also enlightened two boys, Zhuling and Shizhong, to take care of the island's environment. He instructed them to tell all the demons and spirits on the island that he would preach a hundred years later. After that, he announced that he would go into seclusion.
The creatures on the island usually cultivate on their own, progressing slowly. Now that someone is willing to preach to them, they naturally bow deeply in gratitude before the Capital Heaven Hall, all hoping that the hundred years will pass quickly. Every day, large groups of demons kneel before the Capital Heaven Hall, waiting for Xuan Tian to begin his sermon.
Finally, a hundred years later, Xuan Tian emerged from seclusion. Seeing many demons kneeling at the gate, he was deeply moved. He noticed a few who were eager to seek the Dao and secretly noted them down. He then instructed his attendant to give a sermon the next day. The demons, being men of great perseverance, could wait a hundred years, so why couldn't they wait even a day? They bowed and retreated without further ado.
Meanwhile, during his seclusion, Xuan Tian combined various cultivation techniques to create the Du Tian Xuan Yuan Gong. This technique has two main characteristics: First, those who cultivate it must possess a drop of the purest essence blood of the Wu Clan. Incorporating Xuan Tian's understanding of the later Buddhist golden body and the Eight-Nine Arcane Arts, he added the 72 Earthly Fiend Transformations and the 36 Heavenly Dipper Transformations to the Du Tian Demon God Great Art. Each transformation grants the practitioner the ability of a different mythical beast. Second, it incorporates Daoist methods for cultivating the primordial spirit, allowing the spirit to be differentiated within each cell, creating countless versions of oneself. Once mastered, unless one is instantly reduced to ashes, even the most severe injuries can be healed. This technique has nine levels, corresponding to the level of a Primordial True Immortal.
Xuantian preached on the second day. The demons arrived near the Dutian Palace early in the morning. When the time came, Xuantian began to preach.
"Before the creation of heaven and earth, there was something, silent and still, independent and unchanging, ever-present and inexhaustible, which can be regarded as the mother of heaven and earth. I do not know its name, so I call it the Way, and I call it Great. Great means flowing, flowing means far-reaching, far-reaching means returning, therefore the Way is great, heaven is great, earth is great, and man is also great. Within the realm there are four great things, and all spirits reside in one of them. Spirits follow the earth, earth follows heaven, heaven gives rise to the Way, and the Way follows nature. Under the Great Way, heaven and earth are the framework, and all existence is the Way. Therefore, the Great Way is everywhere, and the Way is also everywhere."
Although Xuan Tian was not a saint, he was still highly accomplished in the Dao, and the Dao he spoke of was naturally extraordinary. Heavenly flowers fell in profusion, and strange fragrances wafted, enticing the senses. The melodious cries of phoenixes blended together, and cranes danced gracefully. Golden lotuses sprang from the ground, blooming in myriad forms, layer upon layer, winding and turning, infinitely beautiful. Golden light shone in the air, within which were the three thousand Great Daos, auspicious colors overflowed, and boundless Dharma gates were contained.
During this time, many people gained the opportunity to comprehend the Dao, thus attracting the Heavenly Tribulation of Transformation. Each time the Heavenly Tribulation came, Xuan Tian ignored it and continued to preach the Dao. Sometimes, he would only glance at those with better aptitude, and if someone couldn't withstand the Heavenly Tribulation, he would lend a hand. Unexpectedly, this earned him the deepest gratitude of everyone, which was something he hadn't anticipated.
Thus, a hundred years later, the sermon was completed, and indeed, merit was bestowed from heaven. Xuan Tian had long known this outcome; educating all beings brought great merit. However, this was something Hong Jun should have done, but Xuan Tian desired this result, and he would continue sermons. As soon as the merit entered Xuan Tian's body, a person flew out from him, wearing a compassionate smile. This person was the benevolent corpse that Xuan Tian had created through this merit, but he didn't use a magic weapon to directly sever the corpse. When he saw the people of the Houtu tribe using their own blood essence to create witches, he thought of using his own blood essence as a guide, along with the best materials. Not only would the avatar be nearly as strong as an ordinary spiritual treasure, but it could also increase magical power and supernatural abilities through cultivation, which was even better than severing the corpse with a magic weapon. The body of this avatar was forged by him using his own blood essence as a guide, adding some chaotic refined gold, and he also infused 12 Sea-Stabilizing Pearls into this avatar. These 36 Sea-Stabilizing Pearls were based on the description of the ancient Buddha Dipankara in his previous life. He personally went to the Nine Heavens to collect the power of heaven and incorporated it into the avatar, which was transformed into 36 worlds. He infused these 36 worlds into this avatar, so this body has the power of 36 worlds. At this time, his benevolent incarnation only possessed the strength of a Celestial Immortal. However, because he was Xuan Tian's benevolent incarnation, their cultivation paths were interconnected. Therefore, the benevolent incarnation did not need to cultivate for a long time; it only needed to continuously refine its magical power. By the time Xuan Tian preached for the second time, the benevolent incarnation had already reached the magical power of a Great Luo Golden Immortal. After the sermon, some merit was bestowed upon him, which he directly absorbed, gaining a deeper understanding of the Great Dao. Thus, he preached for ten thousand years, and all the creatures of the East Sea and South Sea listened to his sermons, yet these spirits did not know who Xuan Tian was. They were all silently grateful to him.
