Hecao was quite clever; she found Yuanmi-jun, a new friend of the Wine Immortal. This immortal was sitting under a pine tree drinking when he saw the girl with a blade of grass on her head approaching from afar, and immediately spat out his wine.
What is that?!
Yuanmi-kun's eyes widened.
But Xiao Hecao was about to cry, and the grass on her head trembled with her expression. She tugged at his sleeve, her voice soft: "Tell me, tell me, where did my Siyi go?"
He... he's descended to the mortal realm! He made a mistake and was punished by the Heavenly Emperor to be banished to the mortal world.
After hearing this, Little Grass stopped crying and turned to leave.
Yuanmi-jun couldn't help but ask: Where are you going?!
I'm going to find him!
Before leaving, Little Grass did not forget the friend that the Monkey King had transformed into. It used a magic spell to turn the peach tree into a seed and carried it with it.
Little Grass knew nothing; she didn't even know that to descend to the mortal realm, she had to go through the South Heavenly Gate. Instead, she jumped off the Reincarnation Platform, seeking the quickest route.
Alright, the Monkey King felt it was time for him to wake up.
end
The Monkey King woke up, and the first thing he did was to go and cause trouble for Yuan Mi Jun.
Back then, Xiao Hecao was only sent down to the mortal realm as an order to find some grains. If Yuan Mijun hadn't been so unclear in his words, how could Xiao Hecao have descended to the mortal realm without a second thought?
Yuanmijun saw the Monkey King from afar, his eyebrows raised, striding angrily toward him. Knowing something was wrong, he quickly greeted him with a grin: "My Lord Wine Immortal, you've been drunk for quite some time now!"
"I ask you! Where did my straw go?" The Monkey King grabbed Yuan Mijun's collar.
Yuanmi-jun was taken aback, then replied: She descended to the mortal realm! Didn't I tell you? She descended to the mortal realm!
The Monkey King stared at him without saying a word, his eyes turning red with anger.
Seeing his appearance, Yuanmijun immediately laughed: Isn't the Wine Immortal always so calm? Why are you so anxious now?
The Great Sage Equaling Heaven did not want to say more to him and turned to descend to the mortal realm.
But Yuan Mijun grabbed him, grinning mischievously, "If you go now, you probably won't find Hecao anymore. She did descend to the mortal realm to find you, but also to overcome her own tribulation. You water her with celestial wine every day; she should have become an immortal long ago. Siyi, I say, you're the only one in the celestial realm with such good fortune!"
The Monkey King was stunned.
Yuanmi-jun continued with a laugh: "I told you, there would be two wine immortals in the celestial realm, one male and one female. Look, isn't that the newly ascended female wine immortal?"
The Wine Immortal was now completely detached from his body. He turned around blankly, staring at what was behind him. Under the peach tree, a young girl stood there, frowning and looking at him with a bewildered expression. Her round eyes were filled with the warm, gentle light of spring in the mortal world.
Huh? Shouldn't she have reached perfection after passing through the tribulation? Why hasn't that blade of grass on her head melted away yet!
Yuanmi-jun's exclamation made the Wine Immortal realize that in the cool breeze of the Seventh Heaven, a lush green grass was swaying gently in the wind on the female Wine Immortal's head.
I Promise You Three Thousand Tears / By Cheng Li
1.
Thirty miles east of the Heavenly Gate lies a celestial river called Xiushui, which, according to legend, was formed from the tears of the goddess Nuwa.
As dawn broke, crowds thronged the banks of the Xiushui River. The River God's succession ceremony, held once every five hundred years, was about to take place, and immortals from within a hundred miles had come to join in the festivities.
The new River God is an old immortal, known as Changbai Weng, who is the younger brother of the previous River God.
The thirteen elders slowly handed the River Map, symbolizing the identity of the River God, to Changbai Weng. The originally calm water surface suddenly rippled, and gulls and egrets took flight in fright.
In the distance, a giant wave surged upwards, and on its crest stood a beautiful couple in elegant attire. The woman was aloof and beautiful, her eyes blindfolded with white silk, her fairy-like sleeves fluttering in the wind. Beside her stood a handsome and dashing young man, a smile always on his lips, which warmed one's heart.
The two gracefully descended from the giant wave. Changbai Weng's hand trembled as he received the River Map. He was already astonished when he looked at the woman in front of him. He then looked at the boy beside him, who was playing with the jade waist pendant with his index finger, seemingly unintentionally. The pendant, which could summon wind and rain, was engraved with the four characters "North Sea God," which attracted the attention of everyone present, causing a stir.
The boy helped the blindfolded woman to Changbai Weng's side. The woman groped and took Changbai Weng's hand, saying, "You didn't expect me to still be alive, did you, Uncle?"
Ah, Ah Lan, the old man from Changbai Mountain, was speechless.
"Hasn't Uncle always wanted to catch the adulterer in A-Lan's room? I brought him here." He gestured to the boy beside him.
The boy understood perfectly and took A-Lan's hand in his palm, then waved to Changbai Weng: "Hello, Uncle."
The old man from Changbai turned pale and knelt down, saying, "I dare not accept such an honor." Then, beaming, he turned to A'lan and said, "This position of River God has always been reserved for you by your uncle. Now that you're back, keep this River Map safe." He then handed the River Map to A'lan, glanced warily at the young man behind her, and slowly bowed his head, saying, "The old man from Changbai greets the new River God of the Xiushui River and pays respects to the God of the North Sea!" Upon hearing this, everyone else knelt down in the same manner.
Alan remained silent, took the Hetu, and a faint, cold smile flickered across her lips.
The young man put his arm around A-Lan's thin shoulder and said to Changbai Weng: "He Bo is tired. I'll trouble you, Uncle, to arrange the banquet. Oh, by the way, my marriage with He Bo is set for the first day of next month. I hope you will come then. Thank you in advance."
After saying that, the young man helped A-Lan slowly enter the riverside mansion.
2.
In a single day, the Xiushui River underwent a dramatic transformation.
The old man of Changbai, who had endured for five hundred years, was suddenly usurped from the throne by his niece and nephew-in-law who descended from the sky just before he was about to ascend to the throne of the River God.
Unfortunately, this nephew-in-law was someone of great importance. Even if the old man of Changbai was unwilling, he had no choice but to obediently hand over the River Map. Moreover, if it weren't for the mysterious disappearance of A-Lan half a month ago, as the apple of the old River God's eye, she would naturally have become the first female River God in the Xiushui River clan register.
