The little mountain spirit was a little sad. Ji Mo still didn't treat her like one of his own, and she hesitated so much when he asked her for a mountain spirit.

Ji Mo hurriedly added, "If it doesn't work, then forget it..."

The little mountain spirit quickly interrupted him: "Okay."

Ji Mo breathed a sigh of relief, but his expression remained embarrassed.

The little mountain spirit was even more heartbroken. Ji Mo had said before that only by overcoming one's own tribulations could one go further on the path of cultivation. So this mountain spirit was what Mu Rao wanted, which was why Ji Mo hesitated and struggled, but ultimately compromised.

However, she would still give it to him.

The little mountain spirit looked sadly at Jimo and said to him in his heart, "I can give you anything, as long as you want it, as long as I have it."

The little mountain spirit led Ji Mo and Mu Rao back to Zhongmei Mountain, where the mountain spirits lived in Cailan Valley.

They arrived at the entrance to Cailan Valley, where the clan chief came out to greet them. When the little mountain spirit told them she wanted to stay in Yilan Cave and asked him to give his savior, Jimo, a mountain spirit, the clan chief's expression was quite complex. It seemed to show a mixture of guilt, relief, and finally, a sigh of relief.

Two burly, menacing guards led the little mountain spirit back to the valley. The little mountain spirit took two steps forward and suddenly stopped. She pleaded with the clan chief, "Help me this once, let him see my true appearance." The clan chief agreed, and a dazzling light enveloped the little mountain spirit. The pet-like, adorable little mountain spirit disappeared, replaced by a figure as beautiful as a fairy.

Bright as the moon, drifting on the wind.

The little mountain spirit opened her mouth, wanting to speak but unsure what to say. She could only smile at Ji Mo, a gentle smile filled with unspoken emotions.

That appearance was a beauty that made the world pale in comparison.

The clan chief said, "Go in, Bozheng."

The little mountain spirit lay sprawled on the guard's body, nodding softly.

Ji Mo only came to his senses after she disappeared from sight.

He was thinking, "So the little mountain spirit has a name. So her name is Bo Zheng."

Bozheng, what a melodious name.

Bo Zheng leaned against the edge of the iron fence in Yilan Cave, watching Ji Mo and Mu Rao walk further and further away until they disappeared from sight. She felt her eyes sting.

I'm locked up here, and I can never see Jimo again. No more delicious plum blossom cakes, no more tasty plum juice, and no more Jimo…

She really liked Jimo and loved the days she spent with him.

But she could never get out.

She will remain in this cage, spending her eternal years. Huge iron chains pierce her collarbones, and two large iron balls imbued with curses are chained to her feet. In these eternal years, she will remain in this cage, wearing these instruments of torture, living a pale and agonizing existence.

But it's alright. Looking in the direction Ji Mo had left, Bo Zheng silently said, "I can give you anything, as long as you want it, as long as I have it."

Bo Zheng's father was the previous clan chief. When he became an immortal, he gave Bo Zheng the Heart of the Mountain Spirit and told her, "Cultivate well and come find me soon."

The Heart of the Mountain Spirit is not only the command token of the Mountain Spirit clan leader, but also a magical artifact that can help Mountain Spirits accelerate their cultivation and successfully ascend to immortality. Bo Zheng's uncle, Bo Lin, had long coveted it. Taking advantage of Bo Zheng's unpreparedness, he stole the Heart of the Mountain Spirit and severely injured her.

Bo Zheng lost the heart of the mountain spirit and was turned into a juvenile state due to the backlash from the magic weapon.

Bo Lin's remaining shred of kinship led him to abandon Bo Zheng in the mountains to fend for herself. Ji Mo rescued Bo Zheng just as the wolves were about to tear her apart.

Having gathered a little strength, Bo Zheng couldn't wait to find Ji Mo. At first, she only wanted to repay a debt of gratitude; she followed Ji Mo, wanting to see if she could do anything for him. But gradually, she grew fond of this gentle demon youth. He always smiled gently, making it impossible for anyone to feel any ill will towards him.

That day, after Ji Mo finished practicing his sword, he suddenly smiled in the direction Bo Zheng was looking. That smile was like sunlight breaking through the dark clouds, instantly illuminating Bo Zheng's heart.

Even though she knew he couldn't see her, and even though she knew he was smiling at the little demons around her, Bo Zheng's heart still stirred uncontrollably.

So even though she knew that Bo Lin would not let her go once she returned to her clan, Bo Zheng still took advantage of the fact that he wouldn't dare to openly deal with her, and threatened him to give Ji Mo a mountain spirit.

She was the mountain spirit she traded her freedom for in Jimo.

Bo Zheng gazed in the direction of Ji Mo's home. She had said that she would give Ji Mo anything, as long as he wanted it, as long as she had it.

Countless years passed before the gates of Yilan Cave were opened. Bo Zheng opened her eyes, and her grandmother unlocked the chains and handed her the Heart of the Mountain Spirit: "Although he is my son, I cannot watch him imprison my granddaughter for the rest of my life."

Grandma waved to her: "Go on, don't come back."

Bo Zheng was stunned for a moment, then a surge of joy welled up inside her.

She rushed to her home in Jimo day and night. The snowy winter was so cold; Bo Zheng shivered from the cold, but a joyful smile appeared on her face. Once she got back there, there would be a warm fireplace.

She could see Ji Mo! She could actually see Ji Mo! Bo Zheng was so excited.

She couldn't wait to fly to the house in Jimo. It was lit up and there were people inside.

She peered through the window into the room and saw Ji Mo and Mu Rao talking to each other. Mu Rao had a beautiful smile on her face.

She stared blankly as Ji Mo gently smoothed Mu Rao's temples, while the cold wind howled behind her.

It's so cold, I'm going to freeze.

Her physical wounds ached, and her heart ached terribly as well. Pressing her cheek against the window only intensified the pain, but Bo Zheng didn't want to leave.

The window was inlaid with crystal, so clear that Ji Mo's figure was very distinct. Bo Zheng looked and looked, as if she had already passed through the glass and was sitting next to Ji Mo. She smiled foolishly.
