Youxiang stroked the tear-stone ring on her index finger, her eyes filled with determination.
Don't worry, I won't let anyone hurt you.
6.
These past few days have been filled with wind and rain, and Ah Lan's eyelids have been twitching incessantly, as if she has a bad feeling that something bad is about to happen.
When Elder Changbai and the Thirteen Elders filed in, her good days with Youxiang came to an end.
At that moment, Youxiang was feeding his wife porridge. When Alan saw that her uncle and the others were coming in a menacing manner, she frowned and greeted them.
The old man from Changbai sneered: "Ah Lan, do you know how audacious your little husband is? He dares to impersonate the God of the North Sea!"
You Xiang's eyes were sharp as he cautiously got up, but A Lan quickly stepped forward and steadily shielded him behind her.
The true North Sea Goddess would not meet with outsiders like them. The person who leaked the information must be in her mansion. She caught a glimpse of a familiar figure in the crowd.
Su Xin actually betrayed her!
She's actually one of Changbai Weng's people? She's probably the one who drugged the wine that day.
A-Lan dared not think any further, only glanced coldly at Su-Xin, and then politely said to Chang-Bai-Wen: Uncle, this is the letter of annulment from the North Sea God.
She took out a roll of cloth from her sleeve and handed it to Changbai Weng: The date on the cover is from a year ago. Long before I and Xianglang made our engagement, my marriage contract with the Water God was already invalid. So it is my freedom to marry whomever I want. Besides, has Xianglang ever told any of you that he is the Water God of the North Sea?
Upon hearing this, everyone gasped. But upon closer reflection, although this person did indeed possess the token of the Water God, he had never explicitly stated that he was the North Sea Water God. He had simply accepted the submission and worship of others with pleasure.
Knowing he had fallen into a trap, Changbai Weng gasped, remained silent for a moment, then turned his anger into a smile: "Alan, aren't you curious about why your eyes went blind before?"
You Xiang trembled, his face turning ashen. A Lan looked at him with suspicion and saw a hint of unease flash in his eyes.
The old man from Changbai continued, “The Luoshu records that although the Tear Soul possesses immense power, it can only appear when the host cries and can only stay for half an hour. Do you really want it to remain in your eyes? As far as I know, there is only one way for the Tear Soul to stay forever, and that is to take away the host’s eyes.” The old man from Changbai smiled even more deeply.
Alan felt a cold sweat break out all over her body: You mean to say
The old man from Changbai nodded: What a brilliant move to murder your master and seize the throne! He took advantage of you while you were drunk, and when you were being drowned in a pig cage and thrown into the East Sea, he easily took away your eyes.
Alan turned around in disbelief to look at the boy behind her: Is what he said true? Did you gouge out my eyes?
She knew in her heart that this was a rhetorical question she already knew the answer to.
Her tearful spirit has not disappeared these days, which proves everything.
You Xiang hesitated, then closed her eyes and stopped looking at her. After a long while, she stiffly uttered a single word: "Mmm."
Ah Lan held her breath, focused her gaze, and the bitterness in her heart turned into a sigh.
Guards, lock him up.

Youxiang was escorted to the River Palace dungeon, and Alan pondered by the window in the quiet night.
A dark figure entered through the window.
"What a ruthless woman! Luckily, I broke off the engagement with you," the man quipped.
Alan glanced at him.
The person who arrived was indeed Jun Ya, the true Goddess of the North Sea, but she only felt that he was somewhat overrated.
Why haven't you left yet? Don't let my uncles see you.
Junya didn't take it to heart and continued chatting: "I was afraid you'd misunderstand and think that kid would never betray you. He rescued you from the East Sea and then came to the North Sea to seek refuge with me. Back then, I was still your future husband, and I was someone of importance."
You've already said all this before. A-Lan rolled her eyes at him, bowed to him, and said, "Speaking of which, I really have to thank the Water God for not saving me back then."
Junya sighed and waved her hand dismissively: "You cheated on me, and you expect me to repay evil with kindness? But that kid is pragmatic; he knows that if I don't handle this, even sending you back will only mean certain death. I suspect he gouged out your eyes only to keep you alive and protect you. He probably didn't trust anyone at that point. Come to think of it, he's quite clever; I didn't even know when he stole the Water God's Token."
Alan smiled bitterly. How could she not understand his thoughts? How could she not know that all of this was nothing more than her uncle's scheme to sow discord? Changbai Weng dared not directly attack, mostly because he was wary of You Xiang. She had once inadvertently perused the Luo Shu and learned that the Tears of the Soul contained immense power, a power reserved solely for the River God.
However, the fates of all the tearful souls throughout history have been tragic. They all devoted themselves to their masters, sacrificing their lives to protect them until their deaths. She thought that this was probably why Youxiang was not afraid of Changbai Weng. Perhaps he had already planned to perish together with him.
A few days before You Xiangzhi returned from her journey, the real North Sea God found her, but only for his lost Water God Token. A-Lan took advantage of the situation and said: "How could a dignified Water God lose his own token? How many people will laugh at you if word gets out?"
In this way, she easily obtained the Water God's letter of annulment and a promise to send troops to rescue her.
She knew that Changbai Weng was already impatient and would soon make his move. She sent Youxiang away only to prevent him from doing something foolish. The best course of action was for her to join forces with the Water God when Changbai Weng thought she was most helpless and vulnerable, and then go find Xiaoxiang.
She took out the Water God Token from the box and handed it to Junya: "There's one more thing I'd like to ask of you. Come with me to the dungeon after nightfall."
Inside the dungeon, Youxiang's hands were bound with iron chains, her black hair was disheveled, and her white robe was covered in filth.
A-Lan grabbed his thin chin: "Your ambition is not small. Did you gouge out my eyes because you thought I would become your puppet? What is your goal? The position of River God?"
She picked up the leather whip soaked in salt water from the ground and struck Youxiang without changing her expression. Youxiang remained silent, staring at her stubbornly.
