Ji Mo lay on the overgrown sand, his cheeks flushed from drunkenness. He let out a burp and smiled foolishly at Bo Zheng: "Mu Rao, stop fooling around, let's go home."
Bo Zheng clung to Ji Mo's shoulders, trying to lift him, but she couldn't budge him. Ji Mo struggled incessantly, mumbling, "I can't find her..."
"I can't find her anywhere..."
As he spoke, Ji Mo burst into tears. He hugged Bo Zheng and cried like a child: "Rao Rao, I used Bo Zheng, but it was for you. I just feel sorry for her... I love you, I only love you."
"I know, I know everything." Bo Zheng comforted Ji Mo gently, and Ji Mo broke down in tears.
Bo Zheng said gently, "Let's go find her together...we will find her."
Under the bright moonlight, Bo Zheng's short and stocky body stood upright like a support, steadily bearing the weight of both of them.
That night was a taboo dividing line.
The next day, Ji Mo practiced his sword in the morning as usual and bought delicious plum blossom cakes for Bo Zheng. He seemed nonchalant, but he was getting thinner and thinner. Bo Zheng, taking advantage of her short stature, tried to charm Ji Mo, who smiled and gave her an extra plum blossom cake that evening, but she continued to lose weight.
Bo Zheng tried to suggest that Ji Mo go find Mu Rao, but Ji Mo saw through her intentions beforehand. He said calmly, "She will come back." His tone was certain, but his eyes held a hint of worry. Bo Zheng wanted to speak, but Ji Mo stopped her, saying, "Can I have some peace and quiet?"
Ji Mo moved Bo Zheng to a new place, a small courtyard, where the serving fairies were gone. Bo Zheng was very happy, and every day she would happily cook for Ji Mo, imagining that she and Ji Mo were a young couple who had always lived there, and that they had always loved each other.
When Ji Mo was practicing swordsmanship, Bo Zheng no longer hid herself and could keep watching by resting her chin on her hand and leaning against the door.
Every night, Ji Mo would gaze towards the direction of Mu Rao's sect, and Bo Zheng would quietly stay by his side. If she didn't want to think of Mu Rao, she could imagine the two of them basking in the moonlight together.
A month later, Mu Rao returned.
Accompanied by her sect elders, a group of dozens of people stood in a row. A line of disciples dressed in white robes with blue trim stood guard. Mu Rao pointed her sword at Ji Mo, her voice icy: "Hand over that mountain demon!"
Ji Mo silently watched Mu Rao.
Mu Rao unleashed wave after wave of demonic spells upon Ji Mo, but Ji Mo did not retaliate. Wound after wound appeared on Ji Mo's body, blood soaking his clothes. Mu Rao said hatefully, "Hand over the Mountain Spirit!"
Ji Mo shook his head slightly, concealing the pain in his eyes. "Rao Rao, I won't fight back. You can do whatever you want to me. But don't involve the innocent."
At this moment, the elder of Mu Rao's sect stepped out from behind. His voice was indifferent, yet contained supreme power: "How can the mountain spirits be considered innocent? They control the mountain spirits and enjoy the shortcut to immortality. They occupy the territory of the demon realm, yet they have made no contribution to our demon realm! Such immoral beasts must be killed on sight!" With the last "of," the elder's palm struck Ji Mo's forehead.
"don't want!"
"stop!"
Two exclamations rang out simultaneously, one from Mu Rao and the other from Bo Zheng.
Compared to Ji Mo, who was covered in blood, Bo Zheng looked far more gruesome. She had reverted to her adult form, but blood seeped from every pore of her body. Not a single part of her was unharmed.
Ji Mo was both shocked and furious: "How did you escape the formation?!"
Because she used the power of the Mountain Spirit's Heart!
However, her body couldn't handle such frequent removal of implants.
Bo Zheng smiled slightly at him, and covered in blood, she went to greet the elder.
"The person you're trying to arrest is me. Release him, and I'll go with you."

The elder locked Bo Zheng in a cage, and several disciples from various sects guarded her day and night. Ji Mo watched as Bo Zheng was stuffed into a small cage, her limbs tucked in, her body curled up. Her long hair dragged on the ground, leaving messy bloodstains as she moved.
It felt as if she had been treated like some kind of livestock.
A sharp pain suddenly welled up in Ji Mo's heart. How could the little mountain spirit who accompanied him every day be treated like this!
That night, Ji Mo used a stun spell to knock out all the guards. He carried Bo Zheng and ran through the night wind. He ran desperately, over mountains, over grasslands, over countless places. Finally, they reached Zhongmei Mountain. Ji Mo placed Bo Zheng on a rock, his body covered in blood—his blood, her blood, mingled together, indistinguishable. Ji Mo's tears dripped onto Bo Zheng's almost translucent white face. He repeatedly apologized in his usual gentle tone, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."
Bo Zheng smiled. She caught a tear from Ji Mo's eyes and murmured, "I'm glad you cried. Even though it wasn't for me..."
Bo Zheng then said, "Do you know, although I've only been by your side for ten years, I've been watching you for a full hundred years." Ji Mo's expression immediately changed.
Over the past hundred years, Ji Mo has deceived too many demons with his gentle appearance, but every demon he has deceived has never questioned that he has deceived them.
Jimo has become too accustomed to this. He gently employs intrigue, and once the intrigue succeeds, he makes up reasons to continue being gentle to the other party, so that the other party will not hold a grudge against him.
He used this trick to avoid being ostracized by his brothers in the general's mansion, and helped his father conquer countless cities... In the end, he used this trick to gain his freedom and live in a place convenient for waiting for Mu Rao.
Bo Zheng held the tear tightly in her palm, closed her eyes and said, "Go, I won't deal with Mu Rao. Nor will the Mountain Ghost Clan."
