Looking at Ji Mo, his face grew increasingly gloomy, sending a chill down one's spine even in the blazing sunlight.

The two of them simply stood there, a great distance between them. Under the blazing sun, neither dared to move an inch.

I frowned and looked up. Sweat streamed down Ji Mo's forehead, past his brow, and soaked his cold eyelashes. He didn't even blink, just stared at the proud man on horseback opposite him, and suddenly said, "Prince Jin, can't we be considered to be fighting amongst ourselves?"

Prince Jin, I was slightly taken aback. He was the man Mi Lan had pledged herself to. Back then, when the Gui Fang threatened the capital, all the powerful and influential people in the capital fled south, including Prince Jin. I never expected that he would become someone who could rival Ji Mo.

If Ji Mo had truly made Liao Yan his empress, he could indeed have established a three-tenths degree of kinship with the Prince of Jin. Now, however, it can barely be considered a case of internal strife. But in the end, I did not grant Ji Mo's wish.

"Don't try to get close to me. You, Ji Mo Dongli, are nothing but a traitorous rebellious minister. Who would share a room with you?! Enough with the nonsense!"

"The Prince of Jin is really impatient. Is he worried about his beautiful concubines at home?"

"Despicable villain, resorting to such vile and shameless tactics!"

"I, Jimo Dongli, have never studied your moral essays, nor do we need moral essays on the battlefield! All's fair in war, Prince Jin! You should think carefully about which is more important, the country or the beauty."

The implication is that Mi Lan is in Ji Mo's hands.

He had just returned to take command of the army, and now that the weather was good and the harvest was plentiful, how could the Prince of Jin's residence allow anyone to break in and even capture the Princess of Jin?

Although it's unclear how he would do such a thing, it's certainly something Ji Mo would do. On the battlefield, he never hesitates to use tricks and schemes, which, though despicable, are effective in defeating the enemy, often leaving people helpless and unable to refute him. Fortunately, no matter how excessive his actions, they never harm the common people, thus stabilizing public sentiment. However, now, seeing the continuous natural disasters in the north and the abundant harvests in the south, public sentiment is becoming restless.

I can only silently pray that the phoenix will return soon.

"I'll take your life!" Prince Jin roared, spurring his horse forward. Tens of thousands of men followed closely behind, and generals from all sides led their troops to pursue on both flanks. A cloud of dust rose, and the ground trembled beneath their feet. Horses' hooves crushed the tender grass like dripping water, and for a moment, the air was thick with a chilling atmosphere.

Ji Mo raised his sword to meet the attack, the wind rushing by like a flying arrow, piercing straight into the heart.

The war drums thundered, shaking the heavens and the earth.

All that remained before my eyes was the silver-black of the armor and the dark red of the blood.

Fuqi's forces were even stronger, and he intended to encircle and besiege Jiugao. However, Jimo led his army to charge left and right, repeatedly breaking through the encirclement. Arrows and stray arrows rained down from the city walls, each one grazing past him, sending chills down everyone's spines.

After several unsuccessful attempts to encircle them, Fuqi was exhausted, but Jiugao's morale soared and they launched a counterattack. Just when it seemed the tide of battle was about to turn, a thunderclap suddenly sounded in the sky, and the weather instantly became unpredictable.

I looked up, my eyes wide open, knowing what was about to happen.

Suddenly, the battlefield fell silent. Only a dragon's roar could be heard, carrying for five hundred miles, causing the earth to tremble.

A flash of fiery red light suddenly fell, slamming into the ground with a deafening roar. I gasped, almost forgetting to hide.

In an instant, a surge of murderous intent rushed from Fuqi straight to Jiugao.

I held my breath, my fists clenched tightly beneath my wide sleeves.

That murderous aura seemed to be heading straight for Jimo.
