Guang Chengzi, wielding the Fantian Seal, hurled it at the Jiuli tribesmen. The Fantian Seal was forged from Buzhou Mountain, formed from half of Pangu's spine, and personally crafted by Yuanshi Tianzun. Consider Hou Yi's Pangu Bow; when fully wielded, its power nearly overwhelmed even the supposedly invincible Chaos Bell. And this was formed from just one of Pangu's ribs! It's undeniable that Pangu's entire body was a treasure trove, its materials unknown. The Fantian Seal contained Pangu's power, though much had dissipated over the years due to assimilation with the spiritual energy of heaven and earth; it was still immensely powerful. Combined with the weight of half of Buzhou Mountain, its power was immense. Although Guang Chengzi used it against the Jiuli tribesmen, who possessed Wu clan blood, thus reducing its effectiveness, it was still a force to be reckoned with. After several strikes, the Jiuli tribesmen suffered heavy casualties.
Guang Chengzi was enjoying his smashing, but he completely disregarded his own safety. Cultivators never dared to harm ordinary people because it was ordained by Heaven. If a cultivator attacked an ordinary person, even an enemy, regardless of the reason, their karma would double. This karma was not a good thing; once it accumulated too much, it would cause their cultivation to stagnate, and they would even face heavenly tribulations or punishments. Those things were equally unpleasant, and there was usually only one outcome: they couldn't overcome them and died, their soul scattered and their true spirit extinguished.
If this matter hadn't involved the issue of the Chan Sect's faith among the human race, Guang Chengzi wouldn't have done it. When Guang Chengzi saw Chi You arrive, he was startled. Chi You was clearly a member of the Wu tribe, and a great Wu at that. What was going on? He immediately shouted, "I am Guang Chengzi, a disciple of the Primordial Sage of the Chan Sect. You are a remnant of the Wu tribe. How dare you stir up trouble and harm the human race here?"
Upon hearing that Guang Chengzi was a disciple of a sage, Chi You was enraged. These sages had plotted against him years before, causing the Wu and Yao tribes to perish and withdraw from the struggle for supremacy. Now, Guang Chengzi, relying on his status as a disciple of a sage, was indiscriminately slaughtering the common people of Jiuli. Chi You was truly furious. He raised his demonic blade and roared, "You kill my Jiuli people! So what if you're a disciple of a sage? I will kill you!"
Having said that, Chi You slashed at Guang Chengzi with his blade. This strike was born of Chi You's rage. Guang Chengzi, with only the cultivation of a Taiyi Golden Immortal, dared not take it. He hurriedly dodged to the side and then unleashed a Jade Purity Immortal Light at Chi You. However, Chi You did not even try to block it, taking the blow head-on. As a Great Witch, this attack could not harm him. He then turned and slashed horizontally at Guang Chengzi. In his haste, Guang Chengzi could only duck to dodge. His hair-binding scarf was torn by the blade's energy, and strands of his long hair fell down. The bloody aura emanating from the blade terrified Guang Chengzi, causing him to break out in a cold sweat. Knowing that he was no match for Chi You, he immediately made a decision: to flee! At that moment, his primordial spirit, wielding the Fantian Seal, clashed with the demonic blade swung by Chi You. Despite being injured and spitting out blood, he hurriedly activated the Golden Light of Leaping Earth, transmitted by the Primordial Heavenly Venerable, and fled. Even Jiu Feng could not catch up with him.
Fifty-three-two Golden Immortals joined the battle, their fame and infamy spreading far and wide.
The sages of the outer heavens were watching the battle between Guang Chengzi and Chi You. Seeing Guang Chengzi flee so quickly, the other sages smiled. Yuanshi in the Jade Void Palace snorted coldly and then went back to meditation.
Guang Chengzi fled in a sorry state. He originally wanted to return to Kunlun Mountain to find Yuanshi, but then he thought that he was still a criminal, so he came up with a plan to find other disciples of the Chan Sect to get revenge together.
Guang Chengzi arrived at Yunxiao Cave on Mount Taihua and defeated Chi Jingzi. Chi Jingzi was meditating when he saw Guang Chengzi and asked, "Senior brother, weren't you teaching the Human Emperor in the prehistoric world? What brings you here?"
Guang Chengzi feigned resentment and said, "I had no choice but to come and bother you, my junior brother, in order to help me." He then embellished the story again.
Upon hearing this, Chi Jingzi frowned and said, "This matter is indeed troublesome. If things go wrong, our Chan Sect will be unable to spread its teachings among the human race. Senior brother, please don't worry. Even if the two of us go, we are no match for that great witch Chi You. Why don't we call on our other fellow disciples to go together? We will surely be able to capture Chi You alive."
Guang Chengzi thought the same thing, so the two of them went together to find other members of the Chan Sect, including Huanglong Zhenren of Magu Cave on Erxian Mountain, Julusun of Feiyun Cave on Jialong Mountain, Taiyi Zhenren of Jinguang Cave on Qianyuan Mountain, Lingbao Dafashi of Yuanyang Cave on Kongtong Mountain, Wenshu Guangfa Tianzun of Yunxiao Cave on Wulong Mountain, Puxian Zhenren of Baihe Cave on Jiugong Mountain, Cihang Daoren of Luojia Cave on Putuo Mountain, Yuding Zhenren of Jinxia Cave on Yuquan Mountain, Daoxing Tianzun of Yuwu Cave on Jinting Mountain, and Qingxu Daode Zhenjun of Ziyang Cave on Qingfeng Mountain.
Guang Chengzi and the others originally went to find Yun Zhongzi, but Yun Zhongzi refused to come out of the mountain, saying only, "My cultivation is too low, and I can't help you much if I go. You can go to find Teacher Randeng. His cultivation is profound. With him there, there is nothing to worry about."
Guang Chengzi and the others had no choice but to go to find Randeng, since Yun Zhongzi refused to go.
Randeng's position in the Chan Sect was awkward. He had listened to the teachings in Zixiao Palace with Yuanshi and the others, and was supposedly Yuanshi's peer. However, after seeing others either become saints or turn to ashes, Randeng became afraid. In addition, he had not made any progress in his cultivation for so long, so he went to Yuanshi to become his disciple. However, Yuanshi calculated that Randeng had no master-disciple relationship with him. But considering that Randeng had listened to the teachings in Zixiao Palace with him, and that the Chan Sect needed someone to support them, he took Randeng into the Chan Sect and gave him the position of vice leader, but without any real power. Most of the Chan Sect disciples listened to Guangchengzi, which made Randeng very angry.
