Fuxi abdicated in favor of Shennong

Chi You desired to restore the former glory of the Wu tribe, but lacked effective methods. Now, the human race held sway over the world, protected by sages from various religions. With the ancestral witches of the Wu tribe dead, they were no match for even the sages of those religions. He couldn't act rashly. After much deliberation, Chi You finally devised a plan. He would use the Jiuli tribe as a base to unify the human race, borrowing their fortune to revive the Wu tribe. This was an internal matter for the human race, and the sages couldn't directly intervene. With the assistance of the few remaining great witches of the Wu tribe, he could seize the throne of the Human Emperor and thus revive the Wu tribe.

Thinking of all this, Chi You summoned Jiu Feng and told her his thoughts. Jiu Feng was overjoyed and readily agreed. Chi You then gathered eighty-one high-level shamans from his clan and, based on the Twelve Ancestral Shamans' Twelve Heavenly Capital Fiend God Formation, united the eighty-one shamans to jointly cultivate the Profound Yin Soul Refining Formation. He personally wielded the Chi You Demon Blade to oversee the formation's core. The Chi You Demon Blade was originally the Demon-Slaying Blade, but now in Chi You's hands, it naturally had to be renamed. Although the Nine-Nine Annihilation Formation was not as devastating as the Twelve Heavenly Capital Fiend God Formation, it was still incredibly powerful, its killing intent soaring to the heavens. Combined with the Chi You Demon Blade, even ordinary quasi-saint level cultivators would likely only have the chance to flee for their lives.

After Xuanyuan succeeded as the supreme ruler of the human race, a series of benevolent policies led to the further prosperity of humanity. Meanwhile, the Jiuli tribe, after Chiyou's awakening, embarked on a process of expansion. Xuanyuan wanted to extend his human policies to the Jiuli tribe so he could become the true supreme ruler of humanity; however, Chiyou viewed Xuanyuan's human race as a major threat to the development of the Wu tribe, believing that the Wu tribe must defeat Xuanyuan's human race to regain its dominance in the primordial world. Inevitably, conflict arose between the Xuanyuan and Jiuli tribes in their border regions, escalating to the point where a great war was imminent…

In the first battle at the age of fifty, Xuanyuan suffered a crushing defeat (Part 1)

In order to restore the glory of the Wu tribe, Chi You naturally wanted to seize the throne of the human emperor from Xuanyuan. Xuanyuan, of course, would not surrender without a fight. Both sides prepared for the need of a great battle.

Among the human race, Xuanyuan was instructing his subordinates to prepare provisions and supplies. Xuanyuan had decided to wage a major war against Chiyou. He believed that the Jiuli tribe, led by Chiyou, was unruly and uncivilized, a purely barbarian tribe, and that they needed to be thoroughly defeated. However, Xuanyuan didn't take the Jiuli tribe too seriously. As the current ruler of the human race, commanding millions of elite troops, he considered the Jiuli tribe, with only tens of millions of people and at most a million or so soldiers, to be no match for him.

This was indeed Xuanyuan's mistake. Although he was brave and skilled in battle since birth, he was not well-versed in military strategy and tactics. Moreover, after becoming the ruler of the human race, he became somewhat arrogant and complacent. The human race had not experienced any major wars before, and their army was not very strong. On the other hand, the Jiuli tribe had the blood of the witch clan, and every member of the tribe was exceptionally fierce. In terms of individual combat ability, Xuanyuan's army was no match for the soldiers of the Jiuli tribe.

In the Jiuli tribe, Chi You was also discussing the war with Jiu Feng.

Chi You said, "Now that we are about to have a great battle with the Xuanyuan tribe, we must win a great victory in this battle."

Jiufeng nodded and said, "My Jiuli people are all brave and good at fighting, but we are outnumbered. We are not like Gongsun Xuanyuan, who is the common leader of the human race. The number of people he commands is much greater than ours. If one of my Jiuli people dies, we will lose one more. We are not like them. We need to think of a way."

Chi You paused for a moment, then laughed and said, "I'm not worried about that. This young Gongsun Xuanyuan is just a nobody. I'm not afraid of him. So what if he has more people? Back then, how many more people did the demon race have than my witch race? Their numbers were several times greater than mine. If it weren't for Taiyi's trickery, the final victory would definitely have been mine."

Jiufeng also laughed and said, "That's what we were worried about. But we still need to be careful. Let's see what tactics Xuanyuan will use before we deal with it."

After Xuanyuan reorganized his army, he summoned his generals Bo Yi, Tian Feng, and Xiang Lu, each leading a million troops to encircle and annihilate the Jiuli tribe step by step.

Bo Yi and the other two gladly accepted the order. These three were also third-generation disciples of the Chan Sect, all of whom had the cultivation of Taiyi Loose Immortal. Because the Imperial Tutor was Guang Chengzi, the three of them were usually extremely proud. Although they were from the same sect, they also had some competitive spirit and all wanted to stand out in this battle and win Guang Chengzi's favor in one fell swoop, so that the Chan Sect could fight for a more important position.

Now, the army led by Bo Yi was divided into three allied forces: left, center, and right. Bo Yi was in the center, Tian Feng on the left, and Xiang Lu on the right. Originally, Xuanyuan wanted to personally lead the troops, but Bo Yi and the others were unwilling to let him go. If Xuanyuan went into battle, the credit for this battle would not belong to them. How could they use this opportunity to achieve their goals? So, they left Xuanyuan in the tribe on the grounds that the Jiuli were no match for them and that the Human Emperor's intervention was too trivial.

All three had the same idea: to seize the initiative and make the first contribution. They all ordered their troops to speed up their advance so as to defeat the Jiuli army before the enemy.

Upon learning of this, Chi You was overjoyed, thinking to himself that victory was assured. He reasoned that Chi You, in his previous life as a high-ranking shaman of the Wu tribe, had fought countless battles, large and small, accumulating unparalleled combat experience—far beyond the reach of Bo Yi and his companions, who were merely interested in cultivating immortality and vying for power.

The Jiuli tribe had an army of about two million. Chiyou ordered that one million troops be assembled, and the army be divided into three routes. One route, with 300,000 troops, was to meet Bo Yi and, once they met, fight steadily and delay their march as much as possible, but not to engage them in a direct confrontation. Another route, with 500,000 troops, was to attack the left flank army led by Tian Feng. They could only defend according to the terrain and could not engage in battle, trying to block the enemy on their way. The third route, with 200,000 troops, was to intercept the army led by Xiang Lu on the road. After meeting them, they would fight briefly and then retreat. The third route was to march quickly and not linger in battle.
