Luo Zhong

Let's use an analogy and make a comparison. Taking Pangu's initial merit in creating the world as a base number, let's say 10. The Three Pure Ones surpassed this number due to their merit in establishing their religion, thus becoming saints. Nuwa also surpassed this number due to her merit in creating humanity, so she also became a saint. Xuantian was a person of great merit. First, when Pangu created the world, he collected some of the primordial essence of earth, water, wind, fire, and the two energies of purity and turbidity. Heaven, being impartial, shared some merit with him. Although not much, it was comparable to the merit he gained from caring for humanity at its inception, roughly a value of 1.2. The Qiankun Gourd received 0.8, and Xuantian received 0.4. Second, the merit of Pangu's brain itself was half a layer of merit from creating the world, a value of 5. Third, the merit he gained from preaching on Penglai Island was roughly equivalent to half a layer of merit from Nuwa's creation of humanity, a value of 1. Fourth, Xuantian received a portion from the establishment of the Heavenly Court, accounting for about 20% of his total merit, roughly a value of 0.6. One portion (20%) is attributed to Nuwa's merit in creating humanity, amounting to approximately 3. (Some might argue that Xuantian appropriated a portion of Nuwa's merit, causing her power to decline; this is untrue. Under the Heavenly Dao, Nuwa was destined to achieve sainthood through the merit of creating humanity. Regardless of whether Xuantian appropriated her merit, the Heavenly Dao would inevitably bestow upon Nuwa sufficient merit for her sainthood. The merit of other individuals or entities would be assessed based on their contributions to the great cause of creating humanity. Additionally, Xuantian received a portion of the merit from educating humanity at its inception, amounting to 0.5. This merit was used to forge the Nine Dragons Star Crown and therefore does not count.) If Xuantian truly desired sainthood, he would have achieved it long ago; there would have been no need for the Heavenly Dao to intervene.

Xuan Tian was furious at the actions of the Heavenly Dao. He decided that he would become a saint rather than be a heartless saint. In his haste, he suddenly burst into laughter.

A jade disc flew out from Xuan Tian's body and transformed into a person, which was the very creation jade disc.

Two more people then flew away: one was the Xuan Tian Benevolent Corpse, nurtured with his own essence and blood, much like the Wu Clan; the other was the Evil Corpse, transformed from Kong Xuan's body.

The three bowed to Xuan Tian, who said, "Please lend a hand, fellow Daoists." "Of course." Then the three transformed into light and flew back to Xuan Tian.

Instantly, Xuan Tian's body swelled to a hundred zhang tall. His face shifted between four appearances: one was his past life as Huang Taiji, another was his present life, one resembled Hong Jun (only about 50% similar), and finally, it became the face of Pangu. The four appearances shifted between each other, eventually merging into three. The face of Xuan Tian's past life as Huang Taiji was then swallowed up by the face of Xuan Tian's present life.

Suddenly, two more people flew out from Xuan Tian's body. One was expressionless, the other was 50% similar to Hong Jun, and the other was 80% like Pan Gu. Finally, there was Xuan Tian himself.

Xuan Tian pointed to the person who resembled Pangu and said, "You are Pangu, the past, and the earth. Your Daoist name is Tai Xuan." "Thank you for bestowing this name upon me, Brother Dao," Tai Xuan bowed and said.

He then pointed to a man resembling Hongjun and said, "You are Hongjun, the future, and the heavens, and your Daoist name is Daoxuan." "Thank you, fellow Daoist," Daoxuan replied, still expressionless.

Xuan Tian pointed one finger to the sky and one finger to the earth, and said, "I am Taiji, I am the present, I am human, and my Daoist name is Xuan Tian."

This is a hastily created method by Xuan Tian, combining the Pangu Great Law, the Azure Lotus Great Law, and the techniques on the Jade Disc of Creation. It is modeled after the creation of the Three Buddhas of the Three Worlds in later Buddhism. The person whose face is 80% similar to Pangu is Xuan Tian's body transformed from Pangu's brain, representing all the past, wielding the Pangu Great Law, and holding the Immeasurable Merit Measuring Ruler. The Taoist whose face is 50% similar to Hong Jun is transformed from a fragment of the Jade Disc of Creation, controlling future events, possessing the Jade Disc of Creation techniques, and holding the Heaven and Earth Whisk and the Pure Meditation Futon. Finally, Xuan Tian's body is transformed from Kong Xuan's Five-Colored Divine Light, governing present affairs, holding the Fourteen-Petal Azure Lotus and the Qiankun Gourd, with the Yin Finger in his hand. This technique is still in its early stages. When the three are combined, they possess the power of a saint; when separated, they only possess the Taoist power of severing the Three Corpses. When combined, it is slightly weaker than proving the Dao through force, but much more powerful than a saint who has severed the Three Corpses. If one cultivates to the highest level in the future, anyone will possess the power of a sage, and when combined, they will be like the Heavenly Dao. Of course, this step is still a long way off.

Xuan Tian then pointed to Tai Xuan and Dao Xuan, saying, "Brother Dao, return quickly." The two responded and transformed into light, entering Xuan Tian's body. Xuan Tian pointed to the golden cloud of merit above his head, and the golden cloud of merit slowly descended, entering Xuan Tian's body. The Primordial Purple Qi that was the key to becoming a saint within Xuan Tian's body quickly merged with Xuan Tian's primordial spirit. Auspicious clouds appeared above his head, like chaos, like Tai Chi, indistinct and inexplicable, like the Dao itself.

Instantly, all living beings in the primordial world felt an overwhelming sense of submission emanating from within, causing them to kneel. Like Nuwa becoming a saint, they all uncontrollably bowed towards Yin Mountain, calling him a saint, to welcome the birth of the three saints since the beginning of time. Golden light descended from the sky, and countless celestial sounds swirled around Yin Mountain. The stars in the heavens responded, sending down countless rays of starlight. Xuan Tian pointed to the sky and said to the primordial continent: "I am a disciple of Hong Jun, a protector of the Xuanmen sect, transformed from Pangu, and I am the Pangu Xuan Tian Saint, upholding the Xuanmen lineage and ensuring peace in the world."

From this point on, Xuan Tian finally attained the status of a Primordial Golden Immortal, succeeding Hong Jun and Nuwa. He became a saint who would live forever as long as the void remained unbroken and the Heavenly Dao remained intact.

Nineteen, Lady Pingxin, the Six Paths of Hell

Last time, we talked about how Xuan Tian was given the opportunity to become a saint by Hou Tu's merit of transforming into the Six Paths. Xuan Tian had no intention of becoming a heartless saint, so he found another way and became the supreme saint.

Just as Xuantian was missing Houtu, he suddenly saw a palace rise in the underworld, with the words "Pingxin Palace" written on it. A beautiful woman in plain clothes and simple makeup walked out of it. It was Houtu. Xuantian was surprised and heard the woman say, "My name is Pingxin. I am the true spirit of the goddess Houtu. Because the heavens took pity on Houtu's merits, they granted me a chance to live and let me live in this Pingxin Palace."

"Then are you Houtu or Pingxin?" Xuantian asked in surprise.

"What do you think?" Pingxin winked playfully at Xuantian. Xuantian immediately recognized her as Houtu, who hadn't lost her true nature or memories. Overjoyed, he rushed forward and hugged Pingxin, exclaiming, "It's you! It really is you? Houtu! Pingxin! That's wonderful, wonderful!"
