Luo Zhong

Six more people transformed into the Six Great Venerables, based on the later transformations of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. At this time, Buddhism had not yet been established, and they were simply called Venerable Ones of Rebirth, who were responsible for saving and guiding others.

Heaven's way is impartial; good and evil are rewarded accordingly. The causes of past lives bear the fruits of present lives. Within this netherworld are eighteen levels of hell, which judge the deeds of all beings in their previous lives. Those who do good ascend to the immortal realm; those who are loyal are reborn into a noble realm; those who are filial are reborn into a blessed realm; those who are fair are reborn into the human realm; those who accumulate virtue are reborn into a wealthy realm; and those who are wicked are reborn into the ghost realm. However, sentient beings are foolish and ignorant, unaware of the cycle of Heaven's way and the principle of cause and effect. All actions are based on one's own will; those who do not accumulate good deeds and disregard life and death remain forever in hell, suffering endless torment and suffering. Without this position, no matter how vast the underworld, it would one day be filled with evil spirits.

Pingxin immediately understood Xuantian's intentions and laughed, "You've certainly got a good plan." He then took out two more items, namely the Judge's Pen and the Book of Life and Death, and handed them to the Judge. With all matters in the Underworld completed, Heaven bestowed merits upon everyone, and Xuantian also collected the merits into his gourd.

With the establishment of the Six Paths of Reincarnation, all beings in the primordial world now have a place for reincarnation, a feat of immense merit since Pangu separated heaven and earth. At this time, only three people in the entire primordial world truly understood the meaning of the Six Paths of Reincarnation: Hongjun, Xuantian, and Houtu. However, Xuantian has now completely consolidated the power of the Underworld under Penglai Island. If anyone tries to gain any benefit from the Underworld in the future, they will have to think twice.

With Xuan Tian's help, everything in the Underworld became well-organized, which made Ping Xin happy. Ping Xin was born from the merits of the Six Paths, and although he had the cultivation to sever two corpses, he could not leave the Underworld. Xuan Tian sighed but could do nothing about it, as he had other things to do after becoming a saint.

Twenty, the world has gone mad

Last time, we talked about how Xuantian became a saint, and Houtu transformed into the Six Paths. Due to the mercy of the Heavenly Dao, she was granted a sliver of life and transformed into the Goddess Pingxin. Xuantian then helped Pingxin transform into various people to manage the Underworld.

After Xuan Tian finished dealing with matters in the Underworld, he was about to leave when he suddenly felt the primordial world tremble and the heavens and earth change drastically. Surprised, he did some calculations with his fingers and suddenly roared in anger, "Damn it! You motherfucker!"

Pingxin was baffled by the words and was about to ask when the voice of Laozi, one of the Three Pure Ones, came from the horizon: "I am Laozi, a disciple of Hongjun, transformed from the primordial spirit of Pangu, and I shall teach the human race. Heaven bears witness, the teachings of humanity are established."

It turns out that as Laozi's cultivation increased daily, guided by the Dao, he understood his method of becoming a saint: establishing a religion, using the merit of establishing the religion to guide his own merit of Pangu's creation of the world to sainthood. However, at that time, the Wu and Yao tribes dominated the primordial world, relying on their power and disregarding the will of Heaven. How could Laozi possibly educate the Wu and Yao tribes? There was the newly born human race to choose from, but the human race had been taken away by Xuantian from the moment of their birth. Xuantian and Nuwa together monopolized the human race's fortune, and Laozi could not intervene. Later, when the Wu and Yao tribes slaughtered the human race, Laozi saw his opportunity and fanned the flames, letting the Wu and Yao tribes kill the human race. On the one hand, he tried to reduce Xuantian's influence on the human race and disperse their fortune, giving himself an opportunity to take advantage; on the other hand, he could wear down the fortune of the Wu and Yao tribes. When Laozi established his religion to educate the human race, his fortune would be connected with that of the human race, and of course, he could not allow the Wu and Yao tribes to dominate the primordial world again. Just as success was within reach, Xuantian reappeared, not only strengthening humanity's faith in him but also disrupting Laozi's plans. Fortunately, Xuantian was suppressed by the Dao Ancestor, allowing Laozi to seize the opportunity to unite humanity. He planned to establish a religion once Houtu established the Six Paths and humanity was established, which put immense pressure on him. For centuries, Laozi had been recruiting millions of humans from Wuzhuang Temple, representing a third of the total human population, and could have established a religion long ago. However, establishing a religion would mean dividing humanity's fortune. If he had established a religion when Houtu established the Six Paths, he would have captured a third of humanity's fortune. Laozi, greedy, wanted to encompass the entire human race. If he had done so, he would have captured 80% of humanity's fortune. But then, Xuantian suddenly became a saint, disrupting his plans. He realized it was impossible to gain more of humanity's fortune, and if he didn't establish a religion soon, Xuantian might try to steal his current followers. Therefore, he had no choice but to establish a religion.

On Shouyang Mountain, Laozi revealed his true form, took a step forward, stood in the air, holding the Taiji Diagram, with the Xuanhuang Pagoda of Heaven and Earth above his head. He threw the Taiji Diagram into the air, and thousands of energies shot down towards the human race below.

"Heaven bears witness, I am Laozi, a disciple of Hongjun, transformed from the primordial spirit of Pangu. I shall teach the human race and use the Taiji Diagram as the treasure to protect our teachings," Laozi said solemnly.

Guided by the energy of the Tai Chi diagram, the crowd below bowed down and proclaimed him as a great virtuous man.

A disturbance arose in the outer heavens, sensing the divine intervention. The merits of Pangu's creation of the world and the establishment of his religion descended simultaneously, falling upon Laozi, who instantly became a sage. A flash of light appeared on Laozi's body, revealing a profound sage's form. Centered on Laozi, ripples spread throughout the entire primordial world, causing intense fluctuations in spiritual energy. The celestial bodies, as they had done before when Nuwa and Xuantian achieved sagehood, opened their gates of convenience, showering down boundless starlight in celebration.

"The Human Teachings shall be established!!!" This voice was heard throughout the primordial world. In the darkness, all living beings seemed to know that a sage had appeared, and they all knelt down and worshipped the sage from afar.

Not long after Lao Tzu established the Human Teachings, Yuan Shi in Kunlun Mountain (where Yuan Shi lived, and it has been restored) and Tong Tian on Jin'ao Island also stood up. The Three Pure Ones became one, and Lao Tzu became a saint. Suddenly, they also understood their own path to sainthood.

Before the Jade Void Palace on Mount Kunlun, Yuanshi stood in the air, holding the Pangu Banner, and proclaimed to the void: "Heaven bears witness, I am Yuanshi, a disciple of Hongjun, transformed from the primordial spirit of Pangu. I now establish a sect, named the Chan Sect, to elucidate the Heavenly Dao and conform to the will of Heaven, with the Pangu Banner as its treasured weapon." He tossed the Pangu Banner into the air, and instantly it emitted countless rays of light. Heaven, sensing this, bestowed upon him the merit of establishing the sect and the merit of Pangu's creation of the world, which Yuanshi absorbed. He immediately succeeded Laozi as a sage, attaining the supreme status of a Hunyuan Daluo Golden Immortal. A flash appeared on Yuanshi's body, revealing his sage form. Centered on Yuanshi, a ripple spread throughout the entire primordial world, and spiritual energy fluctuated violently. The celestial stars responded, showering down boundless starlight.
