Shui Yanling gave me a mischievous smile, then raised her arm. A ball of dark flame flickered silently in her hand, but it had no heat whatsoever.
Seeing the black flames floating in Yanling's hand, my grandfather and I exchanged glances and both thought it was feasible.
If it was merely deliberately concealing its presence, it would surely reveal itself under this black flame, thus giving us a clear picture and eliminating the need to take that risk.
Moreover, I also find Yanling's flames somewhat frightening. The Netherworld Flame of the red wolf head is already very strong, and even the artifact of the true god's incarnation is somewhat unable to withstand it.
However, when the Netherworld Fire encountered this black flame, it was assimilated by the black flame like a mouse seeing a cat, and even the wronged souls within were burned to ashes.
I don't know what kind of flame this is, or how Yanling obtained it. I'll have to ask her when I have time.
Seeing that we all seemed to agree, Yanling flipped her hand, and the black flame in her hand seemed to have a spirit, flowing down the deep pit like a stream of water.
But the three-headed hellhound remained motionless. Just as the black flames were about to touch its body, Yanling suddenly noticed something, and with one hand forming a claw, she grabbed upwards.
Before we could figure out what was happening, the black flame suddenly stopped, then suddenly surged, transforming into a giant net that covered the three-headed hellhound.
Just then, a roar that resounded throughout the canyon suddenly came from the deep pit, and the huge sound wave spread directly from the pit.
Upon hearing this sound, we all suddenly turned pale and involuntarily took a few steps back.
As expected, this beast wasn't so easy to kill. Luckily, Yanling tested it out, otherwise we might have suffered a great loss. This thing has been guarding the gates of hell for who knows how long, so it's naturally extremely cunning. We almost got hurt this time.
Layers of sound waves emanated from the middle head of the three-headed hellhound, and even the fire net formed by Yanling's black flames could not block the sound.
Just like at the beginning, this sound pierced our souls directly. It was a mental attack. No matter how strong a person's body is, their soul energy is very weak, and this attack that directly pierces the soul is even more difficult to defend against.
Under the weight of this sound, we all instinctively covered our heads. The feeling was so unbearable, it felt as if someone was stirring something in our brains with a red-hot iron rod.
In that deep pit, the three-headed hellhound suddenly seemed to come back to life from its initial corpse.
Surrounded by the black flames, the three-headed hellhound suddenly rolled over, but its appearance was still incredibly miserable. Apart from the central wolf head, the other two wolf heads were either turned into a pile of minced meat or were a bloody mess with their mouths blown off.
However, even under these circumstances, the three-headed hellhound was still full of energy, and the sound waves it emitted were many times more powerful than before.
I covered my head, glancing at the three-headed hellhound out of the corner of my eye, but there was nothing I could do. The pain coming from my head was indescribable.
Grandpa was already seriously injured, and this piercing pain from the depths of his soul almost made him collapse to the ground.
Shui Yanling was slightly better off. After receiving the support of the heaven and earth energy from Lu Chen Dao Ren, her soul essence was tempered and strengthened considerably, but she still felt somewhat dizzy.
Suddenly, the jade pendant on my wrist flew up, emitting beams of green light that enveloped us all.
For some reason, under the shroud of this green light, the soul-piercing pain brought by the sound waves was significantly reduced.
My mind is clearing up a lot. That beast is really something; even after all this, he still hasn't given up.
Shui Yanling gradually recovered. She wasn't greatly affected to begin with, and after being enveloped by the green light, the sound wave no longer posed a significant threat to her.
When Shui Yanling saw that my grandfather and I were still in great pain, her eyes turned cold, and she glared fiercely at the three-headed hellhound.
Then she stretched out her hands and pressed down hard on the three-headed hellhound. Under Yanling's guidance, the area of the black flame net suddenly increased, and the black flames on it burned even more fiercely.
As she changed her hand gesture, she suddenly clasped her hands together, and the net of black flames that had formed directly pressed down on the three-headed hellhound.
Seeing that the soul attacks we were receiving seemed to have lessened considerably under the green light, the three-headed hellhound suddenly became enraged. However, upon seeing the fire net, the anger in its eyes was replaced by a deep sense of dread.
As the net of fire continued to press down, the three-headed hellhound became somewhat flustered.
Originally, after it came out of the seal, its suppressed power had not yet recovered, but before it could recover, the black arrow formed from the black flames shot directly at it.
Although it had sensed that the flames were different, it still couldn't believe that they were the same kind it knew. So it thought it could withstand them, but it didn't expect the flames to be so troublesome, directly enveloping its entire body.
Moreover, no matter what it did, it could not extinguish the flame. The flame seemed to be eternal and unchanging. Even it was suppressed by the pressure from the depths of the soul within the flame.
Although it was troublesome, as long as it could fully recover, the flames would be no match for it. However, the black sphere that followed caused it great harm.
