Penglai Speech

Hongjun continued, “The Primordial World is boundless and infinite, containing endless Primordial Qi. Within it, the Primordial Qi nurtured the Creation Lotus, which is the fundamental Dao of Primordial Chaos. Later, the Creation Lotus exploded, shattering the Primordial World and forming the Chaos World. Within it, there were fifty strands of Primordial Purple Qi. Twelve of them gave birth to Pangu, three to the Heaven-Opening Axe, twelve to the Creation Jade Disc, three to the Chaos Lotus, and four to the Chaos Pearl. The remaining sixteen strands of Purple Qi each had their own destiny. Fourteen of these Primordial Purple Qi transformed into Purple Light, consolidating the six directions and eight directions to form the Heavenly Dao. One strand of Primordial Purple Qi and a fragment of the Creation Lotus transformed into a whisk, which is the Heaven and Earth Whisk in your hand. The last one is the one that escaped.”

"Pangu was born from chaos. He was blessed with extraordinary abilities and cultivated himself to a level that surpassed even that of a saint. However, he was not a saint after all. He died after creating the world and gave birth to all things in the universe. This was Pangu's tribulation. Creating the world was the tribulation, and the reason why Pangu was able to gain such power was because of it."

"After Pangu died, all things came into being in the world. Living beings cultivated themselves and absorbed the creation of heaven and earth, thus forming a karmic bond with heaven and earth. The more living beings there were and the stronger they were, the more creation they absorbed. However, the yin and yang creation power in heaven and earth is always finite. Living beings can only absorb without giving back. When the creation power of heaven and earth decreases to a certain amount, a great calamity will be triggered. At that time, the karmic bond between heaven and earth will be deeply intertwined, and there will be a struggle between living beings. Those who lose in the struggle will be reduced to ashes and return the creation power they absorbed to heaven and earth. The victor will make up for the amount they owed to the loser. However, all of this is ultimately a trick. The karmic bond still exists, but it is just an infinite accumulation. There will eventually be a moment when it will erupt. At that time, it will be the time of the immeasurable calamity."

Xuan Tian listened quietly, his heart churning with turmoil. If what Hong Jun said was true, then there was no way to resolve this great calamity. Each great calamity was caused by a reduction in the power of creation. During the calamity, cultivators fought and killed each other until the power of creation in the world was replenished to a certain extent, at which point the calamity was over. However, cause and effect always existed, and the power of creation absorbed by some cultivators who escaped during each calamity remained. This cycle repeated itself, but the power of creation was constantly decreasing. One day, the power of creation would also be exhausted. At that time, the Heavenly Dao would be damaged and could not be replenished. After countless calamities, the world would inevitably return to chaos and begin to evolve again.

"Is there really no solution?" Xuan Tian asked, staring at Hong Jun, afraid of missing a single detail.

Hongjun shook his head. "In the immeasurable eons, even saints may not be able to escape it."

This sentence stunned Xuan Tian. What is a saint? A symbol of immortality and indestructibility. But precisely because of this, saints are also the most afraid of death. The Three Pure Ones and Jieyin are like this, and Xuan Tian is no exception. What has he been living for all these years? What was the purpose of his arduous cultivation back then? Wasn't it all for today, to achieve the status of a saint and to achieve an immortal body? No one would go crazy or feel that they are tired of living, especially after they have mastered great power. No one would have such thoughts.

But now, Hongjun's words shattered the faith that Xuantian had held for countless years: even saints can die! This blow was too much for Xuantian to bear.

We have to find a way, we absolutely have to find a way!

At this moment, Xuan Tian was driven to madness. Faced with this unsolvable problem, Xuan Tian was truly helpless. Perhaps everyone understood that solving this problem would be easy: kill all the cultivators in the world and stop passing on their cultivation methods. In this way, there would be no more cultivators, and the yin and yang of the world could be balanced.

However, these two conditions are basically impossible to meet. Killing all cultivators is impossible; saints are the greatest cultivators in the world, and which saint wants to die? This approach won't work.

Not transmitting cultivation methods seems feasible, since even sages might choose this method when they can't protect themselves. However, this approach is also unworkable. Don't argue; just look at Hongjun's transmission of the Dao. Why did Hongjun transmit the Dao? Wasn't it because he was fulfilling his duty to teach and guide others? If there were no cultivation methods in the world, who knows what would become of it? (To be honest, I belong to the type of person who believes in immortals in modern society, and I still really hope that cultivators exist.)

The existence of cultivation methods is ordained by the Heavenly Dao, and the existence of cultivators is also ordained. Otherwise, where would those demons who have awakened their intelligence come from? Demons mostly cultivate by exploring on their own. After attaining enlightenment and taking human form, they may become disciples of others and obtain one or two cultivation methods, or they may figure it out on their own. In short, if the Heavenly Dao does not allow such things to exist, then where would so many demons come from in the world?

This problem is unsolvable; at least, given Xuan Tian's current strength, it is unsolvable.

Xuan Tian's mind was now filled with all sorts of thoughts. He replayed everything he had experienced and seen in his past and present lives, hoping to find some answers. The number of things Xuan Tian had experienced in his past and present lives was countless. Just consider the era he lived in in his previous life—the information age, constantly bombarded by information, which gave him a wide range of ideas. In this life, Xuan Tian had also lived for countless years, and his knowledge was undeniably profound. Now, all of this was replaying in his mind, and for a moment, Xuan Tian's mind was working like a computer.

His face was ashen, his lips pale and bloodless, and his eyes were wide open like a bull's, bloodshot. One could imagine the agony he was in. It was like a computer: if you opened all the software on it—which is impossible—but forcing it would almost certainly crash it. Xuan Tian was in a similar state, his mind filled with his experiences from both lives, two contrasting ways of thinking flashing through his mind: one scientific, the other mythological. While hoping for a solution, Xuan Tian was also plunging himself into crisis. If he couldn't find a solution today, his brain would collapse; even if it didn't, it would cause very serious consequences, such as schizophrenia or split personality.
