Everyone toured the Heavenly Court from beginning to end, marveling at the opulence of its palaces and scenic spots. Haotian and Yaochi, however, were exceptionally excited, feeling that only by residing in such palaces could they truly be worthy of being the supreme rulers of Heaven and Earth. At this moment, several hundred more immortals arrived before Haotian and Yaochi, kneeling and paying their respects. These were minor immortals sent by Hongjun to perform their duties, their cultivation levels ranging from Celestial Immortals to Great Luo Immortals. These immortals, under Hongjun's orders, guarded the Heavenly Court and obeyed only the Heavenly Emperor's commands, thus providing Haotian with his own inner circle. However, their positions were mostly already assigned—some in charge of marriage, some of fortune, some of miscellaneous tasks—all insignificant roles that wouldn't affect the overall situation, and were beneath the notice of even the Sages.
Haotian understood that these lesser immortals were Hongjun's personal guard; though not powerful, they were better than nothing. He hurriedly ordered the immortals to prepare a banquet to entertain the saints. After giving his instructions, Haotian gestured for the saints to enter the Lingxiao Palace. At this moment, Haotian dared not sit on the Nine-Dragon Emperor Throne, nor did he dare to display his supreme authority before the saints. He sat below them, looking grateful. The saints were very satisfied with his performance, nodding and smiling. Finally, they discussed that the opening of the Heavenly Court should be done sooner rather than later, so Haotian's enthronement ceremony was held three days later at Chenshi (7-9 AM). At that time, all officials paid homage, he was registered in the celestial register, received his heavenly blessings, and from then on, obeyed the will of Heaven.
Haotian, dressed in a nine-dragon robe, and Yaochi, clad in a rosy cloak and wearing a phoenix crown, rose from time to time to greet the distinguished guests from all directions. These guests were all immortals invited from all corners of the primordial world by celestial officials dispatched from various places. As more sages came to observe the ceremony, Haotian greeted them all with utmost respect, much to their satisfaction.
Then, an official came to invite Haotian and Yaochi to present a memorial to Heaven, formally announcing the establishment of the Primordial Heavenly Court. Haotian dared not delay and quickly gathered the Five Emperors—Taiyi, Nanji, Bifang, Shuhai, and Houtu—leading the Heavenly Court officials to the sacrificial altar. Instantly, drums and music resounded, and celestial music filled the air. An incense table had already been set up on the altar. Haotian led everyone in offering incense, reciting the sacrificial text, and announcing the establishment of the Heavenly Court. Heaven was moved and bestowed merits, thus the Heavenly Court was officially established.
After the sacrificial ceremony to Heaven, Haotian led the celestial officials, both high and low, back to the Lingxiao Palace. Seated on the Nine-Dragon Throne, he was filled with emotion. Many immortals presented him with congratulatory gifts, each unique and unusual. Not only did various saints offer their congratulations, but other immortals, great and small, also presented different gifts. Yaochi, leading a group of fairies, began to dance. Plates of enormous peaches were served one after another, and the entire Heavenly Court was filled with a scene of peace and prosperity, everyone immersed in this immense joy.
The thirty-nine human races flourished, Xuan Tian plotted to become the Human Emperor, and possessed the precious Kongtong Seal.
Last time, we talked about how Haotian was personally appointed by Hongjun to ascend to the throne of the Heavenly Court, becoming the head of the Six Emperors. He was called the Supreme Jade Emperor of the Golden Palace of Haotian, who was in charge of the affairs of Heaven and the world and all its people.
After the great war between the Lich King and the Demon King, the primordial world was in chaos, and everything needed to be rebuilt. However, the human race stood out and developed rapidly. The human race had three sages whose fortunes were connected, and the Dao Ancestor Hongjun personally selected the human race as the protagonist of heaven and earth. With the protection of other sages, the human race's fortune was naturally prosperous, and it developed rapidly. In just a few hundred years, it had hundreds of millions of people.
During the Lich War, some of the human race stayed near Wuzhuang Temple, while others stayed near Shouyang Mountain. Those near Wuzhuang Temple were unharmed because Zhen Yuanzi was protecting them, while Huixin and Liaozhen guarded the human race near Shouyang Mountain. After the sky was mended, Huixin and Liaozhen stayed near Shouyang Mountain to take care of the human race, and Laozi didn't say anything, so he let them be.
Under Xuan Tian's instructions, Hui Xin and Zhen Zhen relocated the humans near Wuzhuang Temple to places suitable for human survival. Now that the two races of Wu and Yao have perished and the threat of the two races has been eliminated, the human race has developed rapidly. Within a few thousand years, it has finally become the largest race in the prehistoric world and has begun to show the potential to become the protagonist of heaven and earth.
After the end of the Lich War, Xuan Tian moved Penglai Island back to the East Sea and settled there. Other saints couldn't do this. Hongjun Daozu once said that after becoming a saint, one must live in chaos. Other saints' Daoist temples in the prehistoric world were mostly temporary residences, and they spent most of their time in chaos. Xuan Tian, however, didn't have this problem. Penglai Island was formed from fragments of chaos, forming its own world. Xuan Tian had gotten a great deal.
Inside the Dutian Palace, Xuantian sat on a cloud bed, his eyes slightly closed, as if he were wandering in the void.
Suddenly, Xuan Tian opened his eyes, smiled and muttered to himself, "They're getting anxious too. It seems I'll have to get involved." Then he closed his eyes again to rest.
In the Yu Yu Heaven of the Shangqing Realm, Tongtian said to his personal disciples Duobao, Yunxiao, and others: "Now that the Wu and Yao races have withdrawn from the role of the main force in the world, the human race is about to rise to prominence. Our Daoist sect is the main force in this great calamity. You can spread the teachings of our Jie Sect in the prehistoric world and pass on the lineage."
The disciples replied, "We obey your command and will certainly pass on our teachings in the primordial world and carry forward our Jie Sect."
Zhao Gongming paused and then said, "However, my sect is divided into three schools: Ren, Chan, and Jie. The doctrines of Ren and Chan differ somewhat from those of my Jie school. If conflicts arise during the transmission of our teachings, how should we resolve them?"
Tongtian said, “It’s alright. Red flowers, white lotus roots, and green lotus leaves are all one family. They all teach the Way of Heaven to all living beings. Although they each have their own supernatural powers, they all belong to the same lineage of Taoism. Even if there are conflicts, they can be resolved through discussion. You don’t need to worry too much.”
Tongtian then said to the Holy Mother Wudang, "Sound the jade chime and gather all the disciples to listen to the lecture." The Holy Mother Wudang responded and stepped forward, using her magic power to strike the jade chime hanging at the entrance of the Shangqing Hall. The clear "ding" sound spread throughout the entire prehistoric world. Only the disciples of the Jie Sect could hear the bell, while others, regardless of their Daoist practice, could not hear the sound unless they were disciples of the Jie Sect.
