But I couldn't care less about anything else, because the moment the black coffin shattered, Grandpa spat out a mouthful of blood and flew backward, crashing hard into the wall before falling to the ground.
When I saw Grandpa like this, Yanling and I quickly ran to him and helped him up.
After we helped Grandpa up, he was pale and didn't say anything. He just shook his head at us to indicate that he was fine. But I was worried, so I quickly helped him sit down on the ground.
At this moment, the enormous vine slowly rose into the air, revealing a terrifying, faceless creature.
Grandpa sat on the ground and sighed heavily, then looked up at the sky. I could only look in the same direction as Grandpa. Beside me, Shui Yanling stared coldly at the huge vines hanging in mid-air above.
Countless red vines were already wrapped around the walls of the black coffin, flailing wildly as if they were in a frenzy, which only deepened the cracks in the walls of the coffin.
The enormous vine in mid-air, after hovering, crashed down on our heads like a mountain. Seeing this, my face turned deathly pale.
Upon seeing this, Grandpa disregarded his physical condition, pushed us away, and began waving his hands around as if he were about to form a hand seal.
Meanwhile, Shui Yanling beside her was surging with energy, seemingly about to transform into that thousand-year-old vengeful ghost.
All I could do was watch the massive vines press down on me, completely helpless. I could only pound the ground, hating myself for being so powerless that I couldn't even protect the people I loved most, and tears of regret streamed down my face.
If I were stronger, this situation wouldn't have happened. But I didn't give up immediately. Even if I die, I can't die in such a gruesome way.
I wiped away my tears, then stood up as the huge vine crashed down on me. Shui Yanling, who was beside me, was shocked by my appearance and was about to reveal her true form to protect me when a green light suddenly shone on the area.
To my surprise, the jade pendant on my wrist was now faintly glowing. Looking at the green light, I felt an immense power within me, and a strange energy seemed to be surging through my body.
I suddenly felt a tightness in my chest and shortness of breath, and I felt that if I didn't expel that air, I might burst.
Grandpa suddenly stopped what he was doing and stared at me intently, as if afraid that something might happen to me.
Grandpa and Shui Yanling could feel that there was a huge energy inside me at this moment, as if it was swirling inside me and about to burst out at any moment.
Shui Yanling was extremely nervous, staring straight at me. If it weren't for the energy emanating from the jade pendant in my hand, she would have almost revealed herself.
But the giant vines of the tree king above seemed oblivious, crashing straight down towards me.
Looking at the vines crashing down on my head, a nameless fire rose in my heart, containing my anger and guilt for my own incompetence, as if I had suddenly found a breakthrough.
The energy within me surged wildly towards my arm, and for a moment I felt as if I were the master of this world.
He simply watched the vines pressing down on him with a calm expression, and then slowly threw a punch.
In an instant, as if the sky had collapsed and the earth had split open, a huge gust of air suddenly spread outwards from the ground. The four walls of the black coffin, which already had many cracks, collapsed completely, turning into fragments, which were swept into the sky and disappeared by the airflow.
The surrounding vines fared even worse. Under the bombardment of this airflow, they were like wilted flowers and plants encountering a tornado, directly snapped in half and sent flying into the air, where they exploded.
The juice turned into blood and fell from the sky, as if a rain of blood had fallen.
The tree king vine that directly took my hit wasn't in such a terrible state, but it wasn't much better off. The entire vine was sent flying, floating in mid-air before crashing heavily to the ground.
Chapter Sixty-One: Trembling
The originally thick vines were mostly blasted off, as if they had been gnawed by something, with gaps everywhere, and the face without features was directly blown apart.
A deep fist print was left where the original face had appeared, and a lot of green sap, different from the other vines, was showing through the fist print.
The force of that punch directly slammed into the surrounding ghost trees, uprooting many of them and blowing them into the air before they finally landed on the ground.
I looked at the scene before me and couldn't believe that I had done this. I raised the arm where the jade pendant was, and looked at it from all angles. Then I touched the jade pendant in my hand, and for some reason, it was still faintly emitting a light.
The intense energy within me seemed to have vanished without a trace. No matter how I tried to sense it, I couldn't detect it. According to past practice, I should have been unconscious by now, but I was still awake, which made me feel a surge of joy.
Grandpa and Shui Yanling stared wide-eyed at the sight, as if they couldn't believe that I had done this.
Grandpa sat on the ground, looking at the jade pendant in my hand as if he was thinking about something.
