I turned around after seeing her still standing there giving me a gentle smile. That's when I saw this scene: the short man in front of me actually reached out his hand to the bag on the clothes of the tall man in front of me.

pickpocket.

Although I've taken the train many times, I've never encountered anything like this before. I watched quietly, considering whether to speak up and warn others. I turned my head and noticed that several people in the next line had also seen it, but none of them had spoken up.

Perhaps this is human nature: as long as it doesn't concern you, you can simply ignore it.

Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the short man had taken a black wallet from the other man's bag and put it into his own.

"Ahem," perhaps feeling that I still had some sense of justice, I coughed lightly, hoping to attract the tall man's attention. I didn't want to make a sound directly, as thieves who steal at train stations usually have an organization. I had enough trouble already and didn't want to cause any more. Then I looked down at my phone.

Although I gave a hint, the tall man seemed not to notice anything, while the short man seemed to secretly glance back, but when he saw that I was just looking down at my phone and didn't seem to notice, he looked away.

The tall man quickly collected the tickets and turned to leave. I don't know if it was just my imagination, but he seemed to smile at me as he passed by.

I didn't pay much attention to it. After all, I had already given a hint. These kinds of things happen a lot every day. I can only blame the man for being unlucky and not being vigilant enough. If you're not careful when you're out and about, you'll suffer sooner or later. I shook my head to myself and continued to look down at my phone.

The short man in front of me didn't take a ticket; he just stood in front of the ticket machine for a moment and then left. I knew he hadn't intended to take a ticket in the first place; his only goal from the beginning was that wallet.

I took out my ID card, quickly collected my ticket, and left.

There were still more than twenty minutes before boarding time, so I took Shui Yanling to a small shop. After all, it was a day and a night train journey, and we would be bored on the road if we didn't buy something to eat.

Soon it was time to check tickets and board the train. I carried my suitcase, had Shui Yanling carry the snacks, and then started queuing for security. However, a small accident occurred while queuing for security: a young man in the next queue was carrying an urn containing ashes.

This left the security personnel feeling helpless, and those nearby remained tight-lipped. The originally crowded long queue suddenly dwindled to just him after the young man took out the urn.

The young man was probably in his early twenties, but for some reason, his eyes were vacant, and he was thin and sallow.

According to the "Announcement on Prohibited and Restricted Items for Railway Station Entry and Train Travel", urns are not among the prohibited items on trains, and from a humanitarian perspective, they should not be prohibited; urns are perfectly permitted to be brought on trains.

So the security personnel simply checked the urn with the equipment and let him in. Unfortunately, despite the large number of people, no one else went through security after that young man.

"Let's go, it's our turn." I ignored what was happening over there, tugged at Shui Yanling, and then went through security first.

Shui Yanling nodded, glanced at the place where the young man went in, and a hint of doubt flashed in her eyes. Why did the young man exude a faint ghostly aura, but the urn did not emit any aura at all, just like an ordinary box?

Without thinking much, after I went through security, Shui Yanling shook her head and followed me.

However, we didn't see it when we went in. The security checkpoint that the young man had passed through was empty, but suddenly two people appeared. One of them was a tall man in a suit. If I had been there, I would have recognized him as the man who had been pickpocketed.

Following behind the man was a woman wearing a baseball cap with her hair pinned up inside. She had pulled the cap down low, but a fleeting glimpse from the side revealed her to be an extremely beautiful woman.

The two seemed to have no inhibitions and walked straight down the unobstructed avenue. The security personnel seemed a little surprised, but just assumed they were bold and didn't pay much attention. They only asked the woman to take off her hat when she passed by.

For some reason, the woman acted as if she hadn't heard anything and ignored her completely.

"Take off your hat," came the deep voice of the man next to me.

Upon hearing the man's words, the woman slowly removed her hat. Her long hair, which had been coiled inside the hat, instantly fell down, revealing her exquisite features. Her dark eyes and delicate eyebrows made her a true goddess.

There seemed to be a word drawn on her forehead, mostly covered by her bangs, which only made her look more charming.

The people waiting for security checks stared wide-eyed, some even drooling. The security officer was surprised; he had seen many beautiful women here, but few were comparable to this one.

"Is that enough?" came a deep, muffled voice from the man beside him.

The man in charge of security seemed a little stunned for a while before finally looking away and hurriedly saying, "Okay, okay, you can go in now."

The woman calmly put on her hat, no longer bothering to tie up her long, black hair, and then followed the man inside.

We bought sleeper berths, and it happened to be the last compartment in our carriage. The environment inside was quite nice, with two iron bunk beds facing each other. Each bed had three berths: upper, middle, and lower. So this compartment was a six-person room, with four people besides me and Shui Yanling.
