Hongjun said, "This is up to you. You may go ahead."
Xuan Tian accepted the order and descended from the cloud. He called Wan'er and Jian'er over and said to them, "Now I formally accept you two as my disciples. This is the first part of my Penglai Island's martial arts manual. You must study it carefully and not pass it on to outsiders."
Having said that, he took out a book, made of neither gold, iron, nor wood, inscribed with "The Penglai Treasure Book." This was a magical artifact refined by Xuan Tian through years of enlightenment, possessing only one function: it could not be opened by anyone other than his direct disciples. If forcibly opened, the book would self-destruct. It was divided into three parts: the first, the Daoist Methods, recorded methods of Qi cultivation, meditation, and other practices—essential techniques for disciples of Penglai Island; the second, the Techniques, containing various spells, weapon crafting, and alchemy techniques known to Xuan Tian; and the third, the Daoist Cultivation, which contained nothing. One only needed to enter the book with a primordial spirit cultivated using Penglai Island techniques to discover its contents—Xuan Tian's insights from years of cultivation. Unless one cultivated Penglai Island techniques, others would not gain any insight even if they placed their primordial spirit inside. He then cast a spell to send them to Penglai Island.
Then he summoned Nie Feng and said, “You can go to Wuzhuang Temple and find Daoist Zhen Yuanzi. Just say that I sent you there, and he will take you in. In addition, the human race has learned a lesson from this great calamity. The development of the human race will surely be smooth sailing in the future. You must lead your people through this difficult time.”
"Yes, Holy Father," Nie Fengshi replied.
After explaining the matter, he went to see Hongjun again.
When Hongjun saw him turn around, he waved his hand and pressed Xuantian down into the eye of the North Sea.
He then turned to Taiyi Dao: "If you wish to settle your karmic debts with him in the future, I will not stop you. However, your method of self-destructing the Chaos Bell is too extreme. You must not use it again, otherwise I will take back this treasure. Last time, your Wu and Yao clans slaughtered the human race, nearly causing its extinction. Therefore, I punish you by imprisoning you in the East Sea for a thousand years." After saying this, he reached out and grabbed a group of Ancestral Witches, but not the Ancestral Witch Houtu. With a casual wave of his hand, he imprisoned Donghuang and the Ancestral Witches in the East Sea. His figure flashed and disappeared.
Empress Xihe arrived with ten golden crows upon hearing the news. Upon seeing Emperor Jun's corpse, she wept bitterly, and the demons also looked somber. At this time, with Emperor Jun and Taiyi imprisoned, Xihe had to take charge of the situation. Helpless, after much persuasion from the crowd, Xihe had no choice but to take Emperor Jun's body back to the Heavenly Court.
The Twelve Old Masters Want to Spread the Way
The greatest joy at Xuan Tian's imprisonment in the North Sea came from the Three Pure Ones and others, as Xuan Tian had always been a heavy burden on their hearts. With humanity facing a great calamity and morale in turmoil, and Xuan Tian imprisoned in the North Sea, this was indeed the perfect opportunity for them to spread their teachings.
However, things didn't go as planned. Before leaving, fearing retaliation from the Wu and Yao tribes, Xuantian sent Nie Feng to lead the human race to Wuzhuang Temple to ask Zhen Yuanzi for protection. Xuantian had saved Zhen Yuanzi's life, and Hongyun's escape from danger was also largely due to Xuantian's efforts. Zhen Yuanzi already owed Xuantian a great debt of gratitude. Seeing that Xuantian had entrusted him with this task, he agreed without hesitation, allowing the human race to settle peacefully near Wuzhuang Temple.
Although the human race suffered a great calamity, it also turned misfortune into blessing. Today, the human race's cohesion is stronger than ever before, and true friendship is revealed in times of adversity. After the war between the Lich King and the Demon King, the human race has forged a spirit of unity, mutual assistance, and self-improvement. Although in the beginning, the reduction of most of the human race's labor force made development extremely difficult, fortunately, with the help of Zhen Yuanzi, after decades of recuperation, the human race has finally returned to its original scale. With the experience from the past, everything is now in good order.
One day, a man appeared outside Wuzhuang Temple. He had white hair and a silver beard, and was carrying a carrying pole. He had an air of otherworldly wisdom and looked just like Laozi, the first disciple of Hongjun.
This time, Laozi has come to the human race to spread his teachings. At this time, Xuantian is suppressed and the human race is in the process of rebuilding. It is the time for him to spread his teachings, so he came to the human race with the intention of spreading his teachings.
As soon as they entered the village, a villager brandishing a gun and stick came up to them and demanded, "Who are you? What business do you have with my people?"
Laozi's expression was displeased. He had not yet become a saint, and although he cultivated the Way of Non-Action, he was not truly inactive. He still valued his reputation, and when the villager questioned him, he was naturally displeased. However, since he had come to preach, he could not say anything. So he arrogantly said, "I am Laozi, the chief disciple of Master Hongjun of the Zixiao Palace in the Outer Heavens." After saying this, he stroked his white beard with one hand, looking very proud.
How could these villagers know who Hongjun was? At most, they knew that the human race had the Holy Father and Holy Mother, and the Taoist Master Zhenyuanzi of Wuzhuang Temple. The rest were all monsters, let alone Laozi.
A strong man in the middle shouted, "I don't care about your 'old man' or anything like that! If you don't know, it must be a monster in disguise, coming to kill my people! Brothers, quickly tell your people to hide! We'll fight to the death to stop this monster!" With that, he raised his hoe and swung it at Laozi. The others were also shocked and shouted, "A monster is coming! Run!" They raised their wooden clubs and swords and started attacking Laozi.
After Laozi revealed his identity, he waited for these people to kowtow and call him a god. Unexpectedly, what he got in return was a loud shout from the strong man: "Monster!" What kind of identity did Laozi have? He was a great god of the primordial world, the chief disciple of Hongjun, a man destined to become a saint, and now he was being called a monster by people! What kind of situation was this? Before he could even explain, he saw the men's wooden clubs and swords coming straight at him. Although they couldn't hurt him, where was he supposed to put his face? If those great gods of the primordial world found out, they would laugh themselves to death.
Lao Tzu deeply regretted not changing his appearance when he came out; otherwise, he could have easily killed those people and avoided this embarrassing situation. He couldn't act now, since he had come to spread his teachings. If he killed these people, his reputation as a monster would be firmly established among humans, and what would be the point of spreading his teachings then? But he was unwilling to remain silent; it was truly a difficult situation for him.
