However, after the black pill took shape, the color of the sea suddenly turned pitch black, like ink, but this black sea actually stirred up ripples.
Seeing this, the golden-haired woman and the green-haired man seemed to finally relax. The colors on their bodies faded considerably, as if they were about to disappear.
They hugged each other, their expressions obscured, but they seemed somewhat excited.
The golden-haired woman broke free from the green-haired man's embrace, and with a light tap of her feet, she flew directly towards me, opening her arms in mid-air as if to pull me into her embrace.
But at this moment I can't see anything, I just feel warm all over, a feeling I've never had before. Although I'm asleep, I don't know why, but it feels like someone is holding me. That warm, unfamiliar yet strangely familiar embrace makes me want to have it forever.
The green-clad man beside him watched this scene with a happy expression on his face, but he couldn't help but sigh softly and turn his face to the other side, as if he couldn't bear to see this.
The golden-clad woman held me tightly. Beneath her blurred face, her lips moved slightly, as if she were telling me something, or perhaps giving me some instructions.
But at this moment I can't hear anything. I vaguely feel someone talking to me. The words are gentle, but they seem a little long-winded. I desperately crave this feeling.
My eyelids were twitching incessantly. I desperately wanted to open my eyes to see her and then hug her, but no matter what I did, I couldn't open them; it felt as if they were being tightly pressed down.
Beside them, the figures of the green-clad man and the golden-clad woman were also extremely dim, almost becoming transparent.
The man couldn't resist any longer. He came over, pulled the woman in golden light aside, and shook his head at her, as if there was no time left.
Although the woman was very reluctant, she seemed to know the seriousness of the situation. She slowly stood up in accordance with the man's movements, but covered her face with her hands, as if she was sobbing softly.
I seemed to sense their impending departure, and I tried even harder to lift my eyelids, while slowly raising my hand, as if trying to hold them back. Crystalline tears were already streaming from the corners of my eyes.
Seeing this, the woman in golden light seemed even more distressed, and she immediately covered her face with her hands, bursting into tears.
But there was no time left; half of their bodies had already become completely transparent.
The man in green pulled the woman into his arms again. The two of them looked at me quietly, their eyes filled with reluctance and anticipation. It was as if time stood still for a moment. There were no words spoken, only a silent farewell.
At that moment, I don't know where the strength came from, but I actually managed to pull my eyelids up, and my other hand unconsciously reached out to grab theirs, but I grabbed nothing.
When I turned my head to look, I only saw the two spheres of energy dissipate in the air, turning into specks of green and gold light.
I couldn't help but touch my face, which was now completely covered in tears.
Chapter Seventy-Four: A Bitter Feeling
The feeling of loss left me speechless. Although I couldn't see anything at first, I knew that those were my parents.
I will never forget the warmth of that embrace. I just sat there, staring blankly, feeling even more bitter. I had finally managed to meet my parents, but I didn't even get to see their faces.
No one knows better than myself how much I longed for my parents' love since I was a child without them. Although my grandfather always gave me plenty of care, I could never get rid of the loneliness in my heart.
Although I don't seem to care on the surface, I get angry and even resentful that my parents aren't there for me when the villagers gossip about me.
But I know that was just my wish. I never resented them in my heart. On the contrary, I hoped from the bottom of my heart that they would suddenly appear in front of me one day.
It wasn't until later, from my grandfather's attitude, that I sensed something. It was from then on that I began to understand that they could never come back, never ever.
It wasn't until my grandfather told me some things about my parents that I learned they were killed while protecting me. I felt extremely sad, which is why I lost control of my emotions at that moment.
I silently vowed to avenge my parents, so when my grandfather told me that my parents had left me something, I couldn't help but feel happy.
Thinking of this, I fell into complete silence, lying on the ground, longing for the warmth of that embrace and the words I vaguely heard. Although I didn't hear them clearly, I could feel the concern in their words very clearly.
I sat there for what seemed like an eternity when a loud bang suddenly came from the sky, and I snapped back to reality.
I was so immersed in sadness at first that I didn't look closely. But now that I'm looking again, I realize that things have changed drastically.
The once golden seawater had inexplicably turned as black as ink, yet it seemed to ripple in the breeze.
For some reason, I felt that this pitch-black sea was more vibrant than the lifeless golden sea I had seen earlier, as if this was how it should be.
But I couldn't care less about that at that moment, because with that loud bang, a huge hole suddenly appeared in the sky, and out of that hole stretched out a giant, transparent hand.
