Seeing the slaughter of the ten thousand immortals, the Tongtian Sect Leader was furious and hurriedly shouted, "Chang Er Dingguang Xian, quickly bring the Six Soul Banner!" Dingguang Xian saw that the Guide Daoist was wrapped in a white lotus and his relics were shining, and that the twelfth generation disciples of the Xuandu Sect were all covered with necklaces, golden lamps and radiant light. He was afraid that they would be difficult to deal with, and he also envied the disciples of other sects who were radiant. Seeing that the ten thousand immortals of the Jie Sect had been slaughtered, he was even more afraid. He was afraid that if he attacked a saint, he would be controlled by him. Therefore, not long after the battle started, he quietly put away the Six Soul Banner, quietly walked out of the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation, and went to hide under the reed hut.

Tongtian had no idea that Chang'er Dingguangxian had already escaped. At this critical moment, he shouted, "Dingguangxian, quickly bring the banner!" He shouted several times, but even Dingguangxian had disappeared.
The leader, already aware of his escape, was furious and wanted to abandon the fight. However, seeing the massacre of the immortals, he was filled with shock and anger. Looking up, he saw Jieyin and Zhunti vying for someone, which made him even more enraged. With a roar, he forced Laozi aside with his sword, broke free from the battle, and slashed at Zhunti.
Zhunti was enjoying a smooth collaboration with Randeng, when suddenly a furious shout rang out. His neck hairs stood on end, and he instinctively took a step forward. Turning around, he saw Tongtian Jiaozhu, enraged like a lion, his sword tip radiating a chilling blue light. Zhunti's heart tightened; he cursed himself for his carelessness, almost being ambushed. Even if he couldn't harm Tongtian, he had certainly embarrassed him. Enraged, he drew his Seven Treasures Tree and charged at Tongtian. Tongtian, undeterred, drew his sword and engaged Zhunti in battle.
Seeing Tongtian confront Zhunti, Laozi and Yuanshi Tianzun were happy to relax. Ignoring their battle, they leisurely began slaughtering the disciples of the Jie Sect. The Jie Sect had tens of thousands of immortals; even if the Human and Chan sects joined forces, they would only amount to less than one percent. No matter how powerful they were, these tens of thousands were enough to make their hands ache from killing. Laozi sighed inwardly, but he did not let up. With each strike of his staff, several people fell, their true spirits floating onto the Investiture of the Gods.
Yuanshi was even more ruthless. He used the Three Treasures Jade Ruyi in one hand to strike the densely packed disciples of the Jie Sect. Each strike killed at least a dozen disciples of the Jie Sect. His other hand was not idle either, constantly unleashing Jade Purity Immortal Light or Jade Purity Divine Thunder to annihilate the disciples of the Jie Sect.
How could the disciples of the Jie Sect be a match for these killing gods? They had managed to hold their own against the disciples of the Ren and Chan Sects, but now, faced with the methods of the two sages, Laozi and Yuanshi, the Jie Sect disciples were slaughtered in no time, like mountains of gold being pushed over and jade pillars being toppled. The disciples were terrified and scattered in all directions, only to be caught and killed by the Chan Sect disciples.
Lu Ya killed the most. His true form was a three-legged golden crow, and he was incredibly fast. Few disciples of the Jie Sect could escape his grasp. Although his most powerful weapon, the Immortal-Slaying Flying Knife, was destroyed by Cang Jie, the original gourd was returned to him. After this incident, Lu Ya refined the gourd again, and it could only spew out a little Samadhi True Fire, but it was still quite extraordinary. Few disciples of the Jie Sect could withstand it, and those who touched it died in agony amidst screams.
Upon seeing the heavy casualties suffered by the Jie Sect, Tongtian was filled with rage. Unable to contain his fury, he launched a fierce attack on Zhunti, leaving him struggling to defend himself and drenched in sweat. Fortunately, Jieyin came to his aid, which kept Zhunti safe, though his face was flushed red. Tongtian had now humiliated Zhunti. Just as Zhunti was about to regroup and fight again, Tongtian turned away and went to find Laozi.
Laozi was the most relaxed in this battle. He was not seriously injured by Tongtian Jiaozhu and was now slaughtering the disciples of Jiejiao as easily as crushing ants. Although Laozi was relaxed, he kept an eye on the situation on the battlefield. When he saw Tongtian Jiaozhu attacking, he quickly put down the disciples of Jiejiao he was holding and went to meet Tongtian.
Tongtian, his mind clouded, first confronted Laozi. Enraged, he abandoned even the Qingping Sword, taking out the Purple Lightning Hammer (a set with thirty-six layers of restrictions, originally part of the Fishing Drum set) and transforming it into a hundred-zhang-long weapon, smashing it towards Laozi as if only such a massive object could vent his fury. Laozi chuckled, saying, "How can this thing approach me!" A magnificent pagoda appeared atop the tower, countless streams of primordial energy descending and swirling around Laozi, protecting him. How could the hammer possibly fall?
Tongtian, however, disregarded everything else and continued to hurl his hammer at Laojun. While Laojun wouldn't be significantly affected, he was still quite unhappy, mainly because it was a matter of pride. Anyone wielding a hundred-foot-long hammer and relentlessly smashing it over your head, regardless of whether you were injured or not, would still look bad, especially since Laojun hadn't even retaliated and was simply letting Tongtian smash him indiscriminately; it made it seem as if Laojun had suffered a great loss.
Seeing the cult leader's madness, neglecting defense and focusing solely on offense, Laozi was somewhat pleased. With the Xuanhuang Pagoda protecting him, he wasn't afraid of Tongtian's attacks. Tongtian, however, was different; he lacked any defensive magic treasures, and his relentless offensive nature naturally created an opening. Laozi seized an opportunity, striking the cult leader's right chest with his flat staff, sending him staggering back several steps. The cult leader barely managed to regain his footing when, unaware of Yuanshi Tianzun's sneak attack, he was struck in the shoulder by Yuanshi Tianzun's Ruyi, falling from the Kui Niu. Before he could rise, he was attacked by Zhunti Daoist, who struck his face with a powerful pestle. The cult leader managed to dodge, but the pestle knocked off his golden crown. When he finally stood up, though free of dust, he was disheveled, his long black hair hanging down, a few strands partially obscuring his ashen face, only highlighting his rage.
Tongtian turned around and was struck dumb. His once-great Jie Sect had been reduced to ashes, almost annihilated. How could the sect leader bear such a blow? He turned to Laojun and Yuanshi in anger, saying, "You two were both transformed from Pangu and became disciples of Zixiao together. You are of the same lineage and sect. Today, you two show no mercy, attacking me, betraying my great sect, and destroying my followers. You are also ignorant of reason, dragging the Western Sect into the affairs of the East. These two are wolves in sheep's clothing, and have long wanted to spread your teachings to the East. You two have no sense of righteousness, letting wolves into the house, joining forces with outsiders to attack me. You are truly not human. What a righteous Laojun! What a righteous Chan Sect Heavenly Venerable! Good! Good! Good!" After these words, Laojun and Yuanshi blushed with shame and dared not meet his gaze. The cult leader bared his teeth and glared angrily, saying, "Very well, since you show no regard for past friendship and fail to understand the greater good, the name of the Three Pure Ones shall be dispelled from this day forward, and the Three Pure Ones shall cease to exist in this world." With that, the cult leader drew his Qingping Sword and attacked the two men.
