Zhang Zhe stuck out his tongue before asking seriously, "Alright, alright, I'm not teasing you anymore. Tell me, what are you all doing here?"
Fang Shuangshuang glanced at the group of people, thought it over, and then said to Zhang Zhe, "I will explain it to you in detail later. For now, don't worry about it. Send someone to send them all back."
Among the crowd was a slightly more mature-looking young man who, after hearing Fang Shuang's words, leaned close to his ear and asked, "Send someone to take us back? Who are you? You seem very powerful."
Fang Shuang twitched her lips: "You'd better not ask too many questions. Knowing too much is not good for you." As she was saying this, she was about to ask Zhang Zhe to send someone to take them back when she suddenly remembered something and quickly stopped them.
"Wait a minute." Seeing that everyone had turned around and were looking at him with puzzled eyes, Fang Shuang spoke again: "I have a question for you. Do you believe in the existence of ghosts?"
The group of people looked at each other, their eyes clearly revealing their disdain for each other.
Most people in the crowd said that ghosts couldn't possibly exist in the world, after all, this is a society governed by the rule of law.
Fang Shuang listened, shrugged, and asked, "Hey, do you all know each other?"
Someone shook their head: "Look at all those people staring at each other, who knows who?"
After this was said, some people echoed it.
Fang Shuang then asked about their family backgrounds, which came from all walks of life and had absolutely no connection to each other.
Fang Shuang couldn't help but frown.
Seeing Fang Shuang frowning in deep thought, Wan Zhuang called to Zhang Zhe and sent someone to send the group of people back.
Everyone had left, including Zhang Zhe, leaving only the two of them.
Wanzhuang frowned and naturally asked, "I think these people are just ordinary residents. As for what happened last night, they were probably just being used, weren't they?"
Wanzhuang spoke with certainty, but what she said was a question.
After Wanzhuang said that, Fang Shuang also spoke up, saying, "Now that you mention it, I think they really were being used. I'm afraid even the Xuan Sect doesn't know how many people have been used like this."
However, just as he finished speaking, Fang Shuang felt a sudden pain in his heart, so intense that he fainted.
Wanzhuang was startled. The journey back was too far, so she had no choice but to carry him to Zhang Zhe's office in the Xuanpai sect.
Because Zhang Zhe was always busy with Xuanpai affairs, he never had time to go home and would stay overnight in his office, so there was a bed in his office.
Zhang Zhe was taken aback when he saw Wan Zhuang struggling to help Fang Shuang in. He quickly went over to support her and asked, "What happened? She was fine just now."
Wanzhuang frowned deeply, opened her mouth, but didn't know how to tell him.
After a long pause, he finally spoke, "Let's help him lie down first. This is his inner demon, and there's nothing I can do about it."
After settling Fang Shuang in, Zhang Zhe caught his breath and asked, "You just said Fang Shuang has inner demons again?"
Wanzhuang nodded: "Not long ago, he entered his dream because of his obsession. Lao Ba and I originally thought we should let him let go, but unexpectedly, it backfired and turned his obsession into resentment, which directly became a demon in his heart."
Zhang Zhe frowned as he listened: "Too much obsession? He seems so carefree all day, how could he have such an obsession?"
Wanzhuang originally wanted to explain in detail, but then she remembered that their memories had been altered and they didn't remember Yanling, so she kept quiet in the end.
After a long while, Wanzhuang finally said, "Forget it, no matter how much we say, it's just empty talk. Only when he is willing to get rid of his inner demons will he not be trapped by them."
Seeing that Wanzhuang was unwilling to say more, Zhang Zhe did not ask any further questions.
Fang Shuang didn't wake up until it got dark.
"How did I get here?" Fang Shuang woke up and saw Zhang Zhe's usual desk, and asked this question blankly.
When Wanzhuang saw that he was awake, she quickly went to greet him.
"You're finally awake."
Fang Shuang rubbed her temples: "Sigh, never mind, I know why."
Wanzhuang frowned and said to him seriously, "Fang Shuang, do you really think this is a good idea?"
Fang Shuang was taken aback, a hint of sadness in her eyes: "Isn't this better? At least I remember her."
"There are many different ways to remember someone, why did you choose this one?" Wanzhuang was a little confused, and suddenly felt that Fang Shuang in front of her had changed after experiencing so much.
Fang Shuang gave a bitter laugh: "Isn't this a good way? It's like she's making up for what I owe her, and then she's asking me for it." He paused for a moment, then added: "And the occasional pain in my heart reminds me that I ultimately owe her something in this life."
Wanzhuang frowned as she looked at Fang Shuang's words, feeling a mix of emotions. After a long while, she finally said, "No, you don't owe her anything. I'm the one who owes her."
After saying that, she got up and walked outside. She stopped at the door and turned her head slightly to Fang Shuang, who was still lying on the bed inside, and said, "Let's go, it's time to go back. I didn't tell Lao Ba that we haven't been back for so long, Lao Ba must be worried."
After saying that, she didn't care that Fang Shuang hadn't moved and walked out on her own. Fang Shuang kept hearing the words she had just said, "I'm the one who owes her," and she felt that she had spoken too harshly.
Indeed, if you really think about it, Wanzhuang does owe her something, and it's a life.
But he didn't mean it that way, so he quickly put on his shoes and followed him out.
Around 7 or 8 p.m., Wanzhuang and Fang Shuang returned to their residence one after the other.
Old Scar watched as the two returning, one human and one ghost, remained silent, the atmosphere strangely tense. He wondered what had happened between them, but didn't ask further. Instead, he directly asked Fang Shuang, "Why are you only coming back now? Did something happen?"
