The Investiture of the Gods is about to begin

Laozi remained silent for a long time before finally saying, "Junior Brother's words are indeed correct. Back then, the Dao Ancestor decreed that the human race was the protagonist of heaven and earth. After the transmission of the Dao, most of the disciples of our two sects were human, while the disciples of the Jie Sect were mostly demons. This actually violates the great righteousness of the Dao Ancestor, and it is not appropriate for us to continue to educate the human race." Yuanshi said happily, "That's right, Senior Brother is truly righteous." Laozi's words had sealed the future of the Jie Sect. Judging from Laozi's meaning, it indicated that the Human and Chan Sects had joined forces. How could Yuanshi not be happy?

The two then talked at length about the future, which I won't go into detail here.

After the two returned to the Western Paradise, they sat together in front of the Eight Treasures Merit Pool. This Eight Treasures Merit Pool was also a rare object, which Jieyin had found in the West. It was the foundation of Jieyin's teachings and was something he cherished very much.

Zhunti asked Jieyin, "What do you think of the Investiture of the Gods in the East this time, Senior Brother?" Jieyin looked at Zhunti with a troubled expression and said, "The Investiture of the Gods is a great calamity, with the karma of heaven and earth intertwined and the power of the calamity profound. It is a good thing that our Western Paradise is not involved in karma, so there is no need to worry about the disciples of our sect perishing." Zhunti thought for a moment and said, "Senior Brother, you and I have made a great vow to establish this Western Sect and wish to save all people in the world. Although we have the perseverance and wisdom, our Western foundation is still insufficient, and the foundation for establishing the sect is not as good as that of the Three Pure Ones of the East. Our fortune is insufficient, and we do not know when it will flourish. If we cannot fulfill our great vow, it will be detrimental to our cultivation." After hearing this, Jieyin's face became even more troubled, as if he had lost his own mother.

Zhunti continued, "This time, I see the Three Pure Ones fighting tooth and nail over the Investiture of the Gods, tearing off their masks. This is actually beneficial to the West. In this great calamity of the Investiture of the Gods, the Chan and Jie sects are fighting. The Chan sect has fewer people and will definitely not be a match for the Jie sect. Yuanshi is protective of his own and will definitely try to win over Laozi. When the two sects join forces, although their strength will still be insufficient, they can still fight against the Jie sect." Jieyin sighed, "Junior brother, your insight is brilliant. However, Tongtian of the Jie sect possesses the Four Swords of Zhuxian, which cannot be broken by only four sages. Although Laozi's cultivation is profound and he and Yuanshi have three supreme treasures, they are still not enough to defeat Tongtian." Zhunti laughed, "This is our opportunity. Among the five sages of the East, the Three Pure Ones..." "Those who consider themselves superior will certainly not seek help from Nuwa. Although Xuantian Daojun is one of the same Pangu as the Three Pure Ones, he has a grudge against Laozi and has little acquaintance with Yuanshi, but is familiar with Tongtian. Neither of them will seek his help. After going around in circles, they can only come to you and me. At that time, Laozi will owe you a favor and will surely allow our Western Sect to spread its teachings in the East. After the Investiture of the Gods, the three sects of Humanity, Chan, and Jie will weaken themselves. Why should we worry about the revival of our Western Sect?" Jieyin also showed a slight smile for the first time in ten thousand years and said, "Junior brother is indeed very wise. This matter will be arranged according to junior brother. If you need my help, junior brother, please don't hesitate to ask." Zhunti smiled with a smug look on his face, seemingly having a great plan in mind.

The Seven Mysterious Heavens' plans, Biyou Palace reaching the heavens

Meanwhile, as the various sages were arguing amongst themselves, Xuan Tian was also making plans for the Investiture of the Gods once again.

This Investiture of the Gods is mainly led by the three sects of Taoism: Chan and Jie. It has nothing to do with him. All the disciples of Penglai are people with great merit, so he doesn't need to plan for his disciples or worry about their safety. What he cares about now is how much benefit he can gain from the Investiture of the Gods and what will happen after the Investiture.

Since his transmigration, he has been extremely cautious, constantly planning for his ascension to sainthood. After becoming a saint, he has been scheming for the future struggles among saints. Now he is not alone. In terms of power, he is the most powerful among all saints, second only to Hongjun (whose disciples are all saints?). Not to mention the tens of thousands of elites hidden on Penglai Island, Houtu in the Underworld, and the remnants of the Wu clan in the fragments of the Primordial World, even just the three quasi-saint disciples on the surface are unmatched by any other sect among the saints of the Daoist school.

With great power comes great responsibility. While his power may seem unparalleled, the balance of the universe cannot be broken. Even the most extraordinary talents of Hongjun Heaven ultimately had to merge with the Heavenly Dao, becoming mere puppets, their seemingly noble status ultimately meaningless. The world now has the added obstacle of Sages, an insurmountable barrier. No matter how much power Xuan Tian commands, if he truly angers several Sages, a combined attack would be overwhelming, even for Xuan Tian. Even if he could protect himself from being sealed by other Sages, he couldn't safeguard his power. Otherwise, with the strength of his disciples, a single attack from several sects would be no match for him.

As for his trump cards, no one knows how many trump cards Xuan Tian has (I don't know either, the book isn't finished yet, who knows if Xuan Tian will have another card in his hand later, the book won't be finished until all the cards are revealed). Since Xuan Tian transmigrated, he has experienced countless years. It can be said that Xuan Tian's age is even greater than that of the Heavenly Dao. No one has lived longer than him. Just how many trump cards he has is still uncertain.

It's so frustrating, really frustrating. The key issue is strength. If Xuan Tian were strong enough, he wouldn't be afraid even if several saints joined forces. If it were about strength, would he still be so troubled? There's nothing I can do.

After the Investiture of the Gods, Buddhism flourished. This matter still needs to be planned. Taoism suffered a great loss of strength in this great calamity of the Investiture of the Gods. The two Westerners took this opportunity to break away from Xuanmen and form their own lineage. Their fortune temporarily increased, but it cannot last long. The two will definitely take this opportunity to seize the orthodoxy of the human race and improve their cultivation in one fell swoop in order to face the attack of the Three Pure Ones of Taoism in the future. But now that Xuantian has appeared, how could he let him do it so easily?

Xuan Tian had his own plans, so he left the Dutian Palace and arrived at Jin'ao Island in the East Sea in a flash. It was close by, and he and Tongtian were neighbors.

The island of Jin'ao was surrounded by celestial clouds and shrouded in mist. Standing on the East China Sea, the island radiated a pure light that captivated all who beheld it. It was a magnificent sight, with celestial lights from the Daoist sect occasionally streaking across the sky, the figures of disciples of the Jie Sect.
