The Taoist Taiqing withdrew, and the Legalists settled the world.

After the Investiture of the Gods, Lu Ya was affected by the power of the Great Tribulation, but he was forced to enter the mortal world to settle his karma. Unexpectedly, he encountered the reborn Cang Jie halfway through. Enemies meeting again, their eyes were filled with hatred. Lu Ya could not defeat Xuan Tian, but he wanted to kill Xuan Tian's disciple to avenge himself. However, this idea fell into Xuan Tian's trap. Cang Jie used the Immortal-Slaying Flying Knife in Lu Ya's hand to cut off the evil corpse, thus resolving the karma of killing his father. Lu Ya himself understood this karma. It turned out that he had acted first, and the karma naturally fell on Lu Ya and Cang Jie. Although Cang Jie used this to cut off the corpse, he also took over the karma between Lu Ya and Xuan Tian. This karma was thus settled.

Although Cangjie's act of slaying the corpse was indebted to Lu Ya, the karmic consequences were significant. To save his own life in the future, Cangjie even joined forces with the siblings Huixin and Huixin from Penglai Island to destroy Lu Ya's Immortal-Slaying Flying Knife. This created another karmic connection. The Immortal-Slaying Flying Knife was forged by Donghuang Taiyi for Lu Ya and could be considered Lu Ya's only token as the crown prince of the demon race. Unexpectedly, it was destroyed, which was a huge karmic consequence.

With these causes and effects in mind, Lu Ya would naturally support this fight, which is why Randeng looked back at him.

Seeing that Dipankara Buddha was looking at him, Mahavairocana Buddha nodded and said, "The people of Penglai Island are ignorant of the times and do not understand the Great Way. Our Buddhist sect is following the will of Heaven and doing good deeds, which is the right thing to do."

The Buddha was overjoyed. This was to avenge this grudge. Of the five quasi-saints in Buddhism, he had only sent these two. He knew that these two had a karmic connection with Penglai Island, which was why he was willing to help them. The Medicine Buddha and Maitreya Buddha were different. They were original members of the Buddhist sect and were not on good terms with the three outsiders. They did not have a deep relationship with him and had no karmic connection with Penglai Island, so they would not help him.

The Buddha was overjoyed and said, "In that case, it is excellent."

Fifty-four demons obstruct the Buddhist gate; a conflict between faith and national affairs.

Just as he was about to summon his troops to take action, a Buddhist disciple rushed in to report. The Buddha asked, "What's the matter that you're in such a panic?"

The Buddhist disciple glanced fearfully at the Tathagata, then at the Dipankara Buddha and the Vairocana Buddha present, and dared not speak.

Buddha frowned and said, "Speak quickly."

The Buddhist disciple nervously reported, "Reporting to the Buddha Tathagata, a group of demons have gathered in Xiniu Hezhou. The six great demons, led by the Bull Demon King, have assembled on Mount Jilei and are causing a ruckus, claiming, 'Buddhist disciples have killed many of my demon race. Now that the demons have gathered, they intend to storm Mount Ling and drive Tathagata off the throne.'" After the Buddhist disciple finished speaking, he hurriedly bowed his head and dared not raise his head.

The Buddha was furious and said, "This is outrageous!"

Ran Deng suddenly looked up at the sky and said, "There seems to be something strange about this matter."

Upon hearing this, Tathagata suddenly came to his senses. After thinking for a moment, he understood. The Great Sun Tathagata Buddha beside him said angrily, "This Penglai Island is going too far."

Both Buddha and Dipankara were astute individuals, and they naturally understood that the events in Xiniu Hezhou were likely orchestrated by Penglai Island to obstruct the Buddhist sect's plans against Qin Qi.

This was arranged by Penglai Island. After Sun Wu learned that Qin Qi was fighting in Luoyi, he asked Xuan Tian. Xuan Tian told him to go to Xiniu Hezhou to find the Bull Demon King and have them gather a group of demons to block the Buddhist sect in Xiniu Hezhou. Although the six great saints led by the Bull Demon King were no match for the strength of the Buddhist sect, they were still enough to make the Buddhist sect dare not act rashly.

In recent years, under the guise of saving all living beings, Mount Ling has caused a lot of trouble for the demons of Xiniu Hezhou. Xiniu Hezhou is desolate, with few humans and many mountains, but there are quite a few demons. Since the Wu and Yao tribes withdrew from the world, due to the ancestral feud between humans and demons, the demons are not liked by humans and are always threatened with killing wherever they go. Although these demons are not afraid, their large numbers are still a great problem. As a result, most of the demons stay in Beiju Luzhou. Some are unwilling to go to Beiju Luzhou, while others are sent by others. In any case, whether unwilling or forced, Xiniu Hezhou has become another Beiju Luzhou.

The Buddhist doctrine is to save all sentient beings. However, it focuses on humans. The monsters of Xiniu Hezhou are fond of blood and often eat humans. Buddhism uses this opportunity to kill or capture monsters, both to build a good reputation for itself and to strengthen its power. Most of these monsters are not highly skilled and can be used as cannon fodder.

Over time, Buddhism's reputation in Xiniu Hezhou became poor, or rather, its reputation among the demon race was not good.

At Sun Wu's request, the Bull Demon King dared not be negligent. He knew that although he had nominally escaped, he had actually been secretly released by the Tongtian Sect Leader. After all, with his cultivation, he had made a great name for himself in Xiniu Hezhou, yet the Tongtian Sect Leader had not sent him back. This was naturally for a reason. Given the relationship between Penglai Island and the Jie Sect, the Bull Demon King naturally regarded the people of Penglai Island as his own. Having received Sun Wu's request, he did not dare to linger and immediately invited some other great demon kings.

Of course, there were the five great saints, including the Mermaid King. The Mermaid King was also from the Penglai Island lineage, so he naturally received Yu's order to secretly cooperate with the Bull Demon King's actions, pushing the Bull Demon King to the forefront while he himself remained hidden. Although the six great saints had become famous over the years, the Mermaid King was somewhat of a nobody.

These demon kings gathered again at Mount Jilei. Under the deliberate guidance and exaggeration of the Mermaid King, Buddhism and the demon race almost became mortal enemies. The angry voices of the demons rose up everywhere. Taking advantage of the situation, the Bull Demon King raised his banner and decided to attack Mount Ling. He also conducted military exercises at Mount Jilei, sharpening his swords and preparing to make his move.

With these demons involved, Buddha dared not act rashly. Although he knew it was Penglai Island's arrangement, he couldn't help but admire their skill. By using this connection, they both cleared up the truth and kept Buddhism out of their home, allowing him to act without hindrance.

Although these monsters are not a significant threat, they still warrant caution. Considering the strength of Buddhism, with its numerous Buddhas and Arhats, among these monsters, only the Six Great Sages possess higher cultivation levels, all reaching the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm. In reality, they are essentially the same as the Arhats of Buddhism. This is not so frightening, even though the forces behind the Six Great Sages are considerable. These forces themselves have grudges against Buddhism, so there is no need to fear them.
