The celestial official listened blankly, nodding mechanically to show that he had understood, thinking to himself: "The beginning was all bullshit, the end is the real deal."
The young Taoist priest angrily said, "Have you heard me clearly? Why aren't you coming with me? You're so slow and uncooperative. It's not good to keep Her Majesty waiting."
The celestial official was naturally displeased with what the young Taoist had said earlier, and said, "I came to see Lady Yunxiao, one of the Fairy Maidens of the World, not Lady Huixin. How dare you be so rude and disruptive, you little brat."
Upon hearing this, the young Taoist priest was filled with rage and said, "You'd better remember these words: if you don't come in with me, fine, but you'll never find Lady Yunxiao in your entire life."
The celestial official was initially angry, but upon hearing the young Taoist's words, he sensed that the young Taoist knew where Lady Yunxiao was. Overjoyed, he no longer cared about the young Taoist's rudeness and said, "In that case, celestial boy, you must know where the Lady is. Please lead the way, celestial boy."
The young Taoist was displeased and said, "This humble one is ignorant and truly does not know. Great Immortal, please ask someone else." Although he said this, he did not leave. Although he disliked this celestial official, it was Huixin who sent him to pick up the person. If he failed to pick up the person, he would be the one to suffer the trouble.
The celestial official panicked upon hearing this. He had spent most of his time in the Heavenly Court, and although he lacked cultivation, he was quite adept at reading people. Just by looking at the young Taoist's expression, he knew perfectly well that the boy was blaming him. Although he was displeased, there was nothing he could do. He had come under orders, and if he couldn't find the boy, things would get even more complicated.
The celestial official's expression changed, becoming extremely obsequious. He smiled and said, "I see that the celestial child has a noble bearing and extraordinary talent. At such a young age, his physique is already exceptional. He is destined for greatness. How can we, mere celestial beings, compare to such a gift? All those who achieve great things are unparalleled heroes. I believe the celestial child will not blame us for our rudeness. When the celestial child achieves great things in the future, at least we, the celestial beings, will have something to look forward to. After all, we will have met a great immortal."
This young Taoist lived on Penglai Island and held a low position, so he rarely heard such flattery. He had never seen the wickedness of people outside and believed it to be true. He even thought he had extraordinary talent. Now, hearing the celestial official's words, he thought that when he became a great hero in the future, he would feel a little embarrassed to hear others say that he was so stingy.
He turned to the celestial official and said, "In that case, I will take you to the island." With that, he arrogantly led the way.
The celestial official, following behind, felt even more disgusted and contemptuous of the young Taoist boy's appearance. However, having a mission, he had no choice but to follow. Following the boy, they wound their way through the streets towards the Peach Blossom Manor, the residence of Lady Huixin. The celestial official saw celestial birds carrying celestial herbs, mythical beasts sleeping soundly on the ground, and exotic trees with fragrant herbs growing from their roots. Palaces and jade halls, golden pavilions and towers, shimmering lakes, and distant blue waves—truly a beautiful scene on earth, surpassing even the celestial paradise. The celestial official was dazzled by the sight, swallowing hard with envy. The boy led him to the palace gate and then went to report to Lady Huixin. Soon after, the celestial official heard a sweet, noble, yet dignified voice: "Let the celestial official in."
The celestial official dared not be negligent. He straightened his sleeves and hurriedly paid his respects, saying, "This humble immortal pays respects to the Virtuous and Benevolent Holy Maiden, the Goddess of Wisdom and Integrity." The title of Wisdom and Integrity was personally bestowed by the Jade Emperor of Heaven, and it was an honorary title with eight characters. Although this celestial official was not of high rank, he had the ability to read people and was naturally not willing to be presumptuous in front of the Goddess of Wisdom and Integrity.
Huixin nodded and said to the young Taoist priest who was lost in his own daydreams, "Go and invite Lady Yunxiao here."
The young Taoist was interrupted, but he didn't dare to lose his temper with Huixin. He respectfully withdrew to find Lady Yunxiao.
A short while later, Yunxiao followed the young Taoist boy inside and greeted Huixin, saying, "Yunxiao greets Senior Sister."
Huixin smiled and said, "Junior sister, there's no need for that." She returned the greeting and then said to Yunxiao, "This is an envoy from the Heavenly Court who has come to see you."
The celestial official standing nearby, overhearing their conversation, knew this was the person he was looking for. Although Yunxiao wasn't an officially appointed deity like the Six Emperors, the Five Sacred Mountains Emperor, or the Xuanmen Emperor, she was still a noble, personally bestowed deity. She was granted titles but not official commands, and though she held a title, she didn't attend court; she was a free spirit. The celestial official bowed to Yunxiao and said, "Greetings, Lady Yunwei."
Yunxiao asked, "What brings you here, Celestial Official?"
The celestial official replied, "By imperial decree of the Jade Emperor, the Supreme God of the Azure Vault, a great demon has appeared in the mortal realm, threatening the Three Realms and Six Paths. The Three Immortals of the Cloud Palace are hereby summoned to court for a meeting. The other two goddesses have already departed; we are now waiting for the Cloud Immortal."
Huixin said from the side, "My sister is a carefree immortal, who obeys orders but not commands. Even though the Jade Emperor is noble, he cannot command her. The celestial official should go back and report to the Jade Emperor that Lady Yunxiao has no interest in the affairs of the Heavenly Court, and let him decide."
The celestial official was in a dilemma and said, "It would be better for Lady Yunxiao to go to the Lingxiao Palace to see the Jade Emperor. It won't take up much of your time."
The young Taoist priest scolded from the side, "You celestial official, didn't you hear what my lady said? She won't see you, not even if the Primordial Heavenly Venerable comes. You'd better hurry back and report, lest I have to ask you to leave."
Upon hearing this, Huixin quickly glared at the young Taoist, who retreated sheepishly. Huixin then said to the celestial official, "It would be best if you returned to report to the Jade Emperor. Tell him that the Four Sages have determined the crimes, and that Lady Yunxiao's punishment is not yet complete, so she cannot leave the island. Please ask him to make his own decision."
Hearing this, the celestial official had no choice but to turn and leave. At this moment, Yunxiao spoke up, calling out, "Celestial official, please wait a moment. Go back and report to the Great Emperor that I will arrive shortly." The celestial official was overjoyed upon hearing this, thinking to himself, "Yunxiao is such a kind person." He immediately hurried up to the Heavenly Court.
Huixin didn't understand why Yunxiao did this, so she asked, "Junior sister, why did you agree to him? With your status, you don't need to pay any attention to the Jade Emperor."
