Yunxiao said, "The reason I agreed to their request is twofold. First, I calculated the heavenly secrets and felt that something big was about to happen. Second, since we were granted our titles by imperial decree, we have not attended court or paid our respects to the Great Emperor Taiyi of the North Pole, which is not good."
Huixin smiled and said, "Junior sister is very thoughtful. The reason I helped you get rid of this matter earlier was because when I was calculating the secrets of heaven, I found that something big was going to happen. Well, I will only tell you one thing: this matter is a bit dangerous, so you should be careful."
Upon hearing this, Yunxiao finally understood why Huixin had tried to dissuade her from going to the Heavenly Court. She quickly bowed gracefully to Huixin and said, "Thank you for reminding me, sister. It was my fault for making you waste your time."
Huixin smiled and said, "It's alright. We are sisters, so how can we talk about wasting our time? I think that with your skills, although this matter is somewhat dangerous, you are more than capable of handling it completely. There is no need to worry."
Yunxiao knew that his senior sister was highly skilled, far surpassing him. Hearing Huixin's words, he felt relieved and smiled, "Actually, these are secondary. The main thing is that I haven't seen my elder brother and younger sister for a long time, and I haven't been in touch with my old Daoist friends for many days. I can take this opportunity to pay my respects."
Huixin nodded, and Yunxiao tidied himself up before mounting the blue phoenix and flying away. After passing the meteorite and lightning fire at the junction of the Heavenly Realm and the Earthly Immortal Realm, and then traversing the gale-force winds that stretched for over three thousand miles, they flew for two hours before arriving at the Heavenly Court. Although Yunxiao had been to the Heavenly Court before, he had always come with his teacher and hadn't had the opportunity to observe much. Now, he took the chance to see what the Heavenly Realm was like. He saw swirling immortal clouds and fragrant breezes, like a sea of clouds. Within this sea of clouds were countless large islands, boundless and vast, comparable to the Earthly Immortal Realm.
Yunxiao arrived at the Heavenly Court, where he heard celestial music, the cries of cranes, and the dance of spirit birds, all amidst swirling fragrances. A gate, hundreds of feet wide, stood before him, flanked by two towering pillars. Between the pillars stood a memorial archway inscribed with "Southern Heavenly Gate." Palaces stretched for thousands of rooms, resplendent in gold and jade; carved railings and painted beams shone with countless rays of light; blue tiles gleamed with auspicious clouds. Seeing this, Yunxiao finally witnessed the luxurious majesty of the Heavenly Emperor. Although it didn't quite match Penglai Island, it was far superior to his own residence. However, the Heavenly Court had its advantages and disadvantages; it offered more solemnity but less freedom.
Beneath the South Heavenly Gate stood two divine generals on each side. All four generals were three zhang tall, each wielding a precious sword, a pipa, and a precious umbrella, and each leading a sable. They were the four Heavenly Kings who guarded the South Heavenly Gate during the Investiture of the Gods. The Three Immortals of Sanxiao recognized these four Heavenly Kings: the Heavenly King of Growth, the Heavenly King of Wide Vision, the Heavenly King of Many Words, and the Heavenly King of Holding the Nation.
Thirty-two summons
After Yunxiao arrived at the Heavenly Gate, the four Heavenly Kings saw her and hurriedly stepped forward to bow, saying, "Greetings, Lady Yunxiao."
Although the four were trusted by the Jade Emperor and had a somewhat ambiguous relationship with the West, guarding the Southern Heavenly Gate brought them many benefits, but they dared not neglect Yunxiao. They were once the "Four Demon Generals" of the Jie Sect, and after being conferred as gods, they were in charge of ensuring "favorable weather and abundant harvests" in the human world, wielding great power. If ordinary immortals and gods did not offer them any benefits, they would be subjected to various forms of harassment.
Yunxiao said, "We are both from the Xuanmen sect, so there is no need for such formalities, fellow Daoist. Please inform the Jade Emperor that Yunxiao requests an audience."
Upon hearing this, the Heavenly King Dhritarashtra hurriedly went to the Lingxiao Palace to report. The Heavenly King Zengguang asked in a friendly tone, "Lady Yunxiao is always carefree, so why has she come to the Heavenly Court to see His Majesty today? Has something important happened?"
Yunxiao nodded and said, "It's not that I've come here for no reason, but the Jade Emperor sent a celestial official to summon me, saying that there is something important to discuss."
Upon hearing this, the three Heavenly Kings dared not ask any further questions. Although they had not personally witnessed the divine might of the Three Immortals during the Investiture of the Gods, the thought that even Yang Jian could not subdue them, while the Three Immortals required the descent of the Primordial Lord to subdue them, sent chills down their spines. The fact that such a momentous event required the assistance of Lady Yunxiao must be of paramount importance.
At this moment, Dhritarashtra arrived with a celestial official. The official said, "Lady Yunxiao, the Jade Emperor invites you to the Lingxiao Palace. The Jade Emperor and all the celestial beings are waiting for your arrival."
Yunxiao bid farewell to the four Heavenly Kings, placed Qingluan at the South Heavenly Gate, and followed the celestial officials, traveling through the Thirty-Three Heavens.
Since the beginning of time, the demon race has ruled the heavens, and the witch race has governed the earth, thus establishing the laws of heaven and earth. In the primordial era, the demon emperors Di Jun and Donghuang Taiyi were ambitious, vying for power and the leading role in the primordial world. Unfortunately, when the goddess Nuwa created humans and became a saint, most of the demon race's fortune was transferred to humanity, leading to a great war between the demon and witch races that ultimately stripped both of them of their leading role. In the ancient times, the demon saints and witch gods were incredibly powerful. The stars were vast, and the earth boundless; only these great beings could govern and manage it effectively.
By now, the Sun Palace and Heavenly Court on Mount Buzhou no longer exist, and the primordial stars have been shattered into pieces. What remains are only the Thirty-Three Heavens rebuilt by the great power of sages, and fragments of stars under the jurisdiction of righteous gods. Even so, the righteous gods who govern these new stars are among the most renowned figures in the Three Realms. Yunxiao cannot know the secrets of the ancient times clearly. Although she has heard of the complete supernatural powers of the Wu Yao Tongtian, she still doesn't quite believe it.
The heavens now have thirty-three layers, each with a palace, from top to bottom: the Cloud Palace, the Sand Palace, the Five Bright Palace, the Sun Palace, and so on. The Jade Emperor resides in the Dou Niu Palace, also known as the Golden Cloud Palace. There are also seventy-two treasure halls, including the Court Assembly Hall, the Lingxu Hall, the Baoguang Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, and the Lingguan Hall, which are the residences and offices of all the immortals and gods in the heavens.
The entire celestial palace was enormous. Dozens of Heavenly Marshals stood on both sides of the ladder, and more than a dozen golden-armored deities were below them. Furthermore, sword-wielding generals led countless celestial soldiers and gods as guards, each one fierce and menacing. A rainbow spanned the sea of clouds, and colorful lotuses emerged from the palace.
