The Witch Clan Attacks the Heavenly Court

Seeing that Laozi and Jieyin were fighting, and that Zhunti was about to seize the treasure, Yuanshi and Tongtian also stepped forward and shouted, "How dare you, you scoundrel!!" Yuanshi took out the Pangu Banner and swung it at Zhunti. Seeing Yuanshi attacking, Zhunti had no choice but to retreat and use the Seven Treasures Tree to fight against Yuanshi. Seeing that Yuanshi was facing off against Zhunti, Tongtian took the opportunity to fly towards the Chaos Bell.

When Nuwa saw that Tongtian wanted to seize the treasure, she threw the red embroidered ball at him and threw the Map of Mountains and Rivers at the Chaos Bell. Laozi saw this and blocked the Map of Mountains and Rivers with the Taiji Diagram. He then turned around and hit Jieyin with his carrying pole, but Jieyin blocked it with his Twelve Golden Lotus and they began to fight.

Laozi, seeing that things couldn't continue like this, said, "Yuanshi, Tongtian, we Three Pure Ones are of one mind. It doesn't matter who gets the Chaos Bell, but we must not let them get it." Yuanshi was currently fighting against Zhunti. Although his cultivation was slightly higher than Zhunti's, they were both sages after all, and it was impossible for him to defeat Zhunti in a short time. After hearing Laozi's words, he considered it for a moment and thought it was feasible. If the Three Pure Ones joined forces to seize the treasure, he would have the greatest chance of getting it. So he said, "That's exactly right."

After hearing Laozi and Yuanshi's words, Tongtian thought about it and agreed. After all, the Three Pure Ones were of the same lineage, and it would be better for any of them to receive it than for an outsider. So he said, "Good."

Seeing that Tongtian had agreed, Yuanshi hurriedly said, "Junior Brother Tongtian, quickly set up the Zhuxian Sword Formation."

Jieyin and Zhunti were greatly alarmed. This Zhuxian Sword Formation could not be broken by anyone other than the Four Sages. If that were the case, then the Chaos Bell was destined to belong to the Three Pure Ones.

At this moment, Xuan Tian suddenly appeared. After he finished mending the sky, he told Nuwa that he was going to return the Dao Ancestor's magic weapon and disappeared for a while. Now he returned and saw everyone fighting near the original site of Buzhou Mountain. Xuan Tian angrily said: "Fight! Fight! Fight! What a load of crap! It's just a broken bell. Let's see how you fight without this broken bell."

Having said that, Xuan Tian took out the Heaven and Earth Whisk and unleashed a stream of energy that struck the Chaos Bell, sending it flying and disappearing from sight.

Yuanshi roared in fury, "Xuantian, what are you doing?"

Seeing that the Chaos Bell was gone, the saints, except for Nuwa, all looked at Xuantian with somewhat unfriendly expressions.

Xuan Tian said indifferently, "That's good now. The one with the right fate will get it, and you won't have to fight anymore." After saying that, he suddenly turned around and bowed to the void, saying, "Disciple respectfully welcomes Dao Ancestor."

Sure enough, a ripple appeared in the void, revealing the figure of Dao Ancestor Hongjun, and all the saints quickly bowed down.

Hongjun said, "The great calamity has just passed, and the primordial world is in chaos. You should govern it well and refrain from further fighting." Then he disappeared again. The saints were all stunned.

Thirty-five rituals to liberate the souls of the deceased are meritorious.

With the Chaos Bell gone, there was naturally nothing left to fight over. The saints arrived at the Heavenly Court and saw that the Witch and Demon races still had some members remaining. The Demon race, in particular, had lost many people due to the outflow of the Heavenly River, but still had over 100,000 members. The Witch race had fewer members, but still had several thousand.

Xuan Tian asked, "Sages, please tell me, how should we deal with these two races, the witch and the demon?"

With a face full of sorrow, Jieyin said, "The war between the Lich King and the Demon King has caused great suffering to all living beings. I pity the difficulty of cultivating one's power, so I have come to enlighten them, to remove their malevolent energy, and to bring blessings to all living beings."

Nuwa, who was listening nearby, said, "I'm afraid that's not appropriate. I am a saint of the demon race, and these demons are my people. It would be better if I imprisoned them. I have the Map of Mountains and Rivers, which is perfect for imprisoning the demons and making them reflect on their mistakes in the map."

Zhunti said, “Since you are a saint of the demon race, what kind of punishment is it to let the demon race follow you? I see that there are many demons who have a deep affinity with my Western Sect. Why not let me convert them, cultivate and accumulate good deeds, and they will naturally be able to achieve the Great Dao in the future.”

Tongtian, being straightforward and honest, had always disliked Zhunti. Hearing Zhunti's words, he pointed at the Wu tribe and said, "Since you possess such supernatural powers and a compassionate heart, and the Wu tribe is warlike and bloodthirsty, remaining in this world is only a scourge, why don't you convert them?" He continued, "The Western Sect focuses on cultivating the next life, but once the Wu tribe dies, their true spirits perish and they don't enter the cycle of reincarnation. How can they cultivate Western supernatural powers?"

Seeing that Tongtian was making things difficult for him, Zhunti was not annoyed and laughed, "Our Western Sect only saves those who are destined. It's a pity that the Wu Clan is not destined for me. Such is fate, what can I do?"

Tongtian chuckled and said, "Fellow Daoist Zhunti, you certainly have a good tongue. Your Western religion claims to save all sentient beings, but I've heard that you Westerners haven't even finished saving them all?"

The great vows made by Jieyin and Zhunti to save all sentient beings were a last resort for them. They borrowed merit from the Heavenly Dao to achieve sainthood, but many aspects of their doctrines were inconsistent and contradictory. Zhunti, in particular, never considered the doctrines themselves. After all, those doctrines were merely tools to deceive believers. Below the saints, all other beings were insignificant; as long as they could gain the faith of their Western Paradise, that was enough. Few dared to question the leader or point out any errors in the doctrines. The main reason for this was that Jieyin and Zhunti, lacking sufficient merit, made too many grand vows out of necessity. While they accumulated enough merit, this also meant they could no longer retract their vows. Of course, even if ordinary people discovered something, they lacked the courage and ability to question it.

Zhunti remained unmoved by the eight winds and said, "There are wise and foolish people in the world. If they can understand, I will save them myself; if they cannot understand, I will teach them myself and then save them."

Xuan Tian spoke up, "Stop arguing. I'll handle the Wu Clan. Laozi is your senior brother. You can ask him about the demon clan." With that, Xuan Tian waved his hand and took the Wu Clan members inside.

Laozi was also in a dilemma when he saw that Xuantian had passed the buck to him. He didn't care which demons followed. After thinking for a while, he said, "I established the Human Religion and practice non-action. Since that's the case, let them decide for themselves which sage to follow."

The demons below also heard Laozi's words. Right now, Laozi was acting as if he wouldn't take anyone in. Yuanshi hadn't spoken since taking half of Buzhou Mountain, so it seemed he wouldn't take in the demons either. Xuantian had already said he wouldn't care about the demons anymore. The only option was to seek refuge with other saints. The first choice would naturally be Nuwa, and then there was Tongtian. Tongtian advocated education for all, so he wouldn't refuse. No one from the Western Sect was willing to go there, as everyone knew it was always barren.
