Cihang had great ambitions. He used the profound mysteries of the Western Dharma to devote his entire primordial spirit to the underworld to cultivate and reincarnate a hundred times. If he succeeded, he could become a Buddha after a hundred lifetimes.
That's exactly where things went wrong.
Cihang reincarnated without any problems for ninety-nine times, until his one hundredth reincarnation, when he suddenly realized that things were very bad, really bad, well, at least, really bad for a man.
After Cihang reincarnated a hundred times and cultivated Buddhism, when she finally understood her past life, she suddenly found herself transformed into a woman with two breasts and a large mouth. The most terrifying thing was that this female body was not a virgin...
Heartbroken, Cihang immediately decided to abandon this body and continue her cultivation, but what followed sent chills down her spine—she simply couldn't get rid of this body...
No matter how Cihang tried to cast the spell, she eventually discovered that there was no other way but to destroy her own primordial spirit. The poor girl cried out in despair. She didn't want to do something that would lead to her death, so she could only make do with it.
Cihang, who returned to the Pure Land in female form, was officially renamed Guanyin and served Amitabha Buddha. Before leaving, Guanyin killed all the families she had been attached to for a hundred lifetimes, ostensibly to sever worldly ties, but in reality, it was not revenge.
In fact, Guanyin knew that she had been tricked by Yuanshi Tianzun, but she had no way to express her suffering. Everyone knew this in their hearts, but no one could say it out loud. Cihang betrayed the Chan Sect and entered the Buddhist sect. She was careless and gave Yuanshi Tianzun an opportunity. Although she did not do anything to harm his body, she was bound to suffer emotional trauma.
Leaving that aside, let's talk about Lu Ya. The free spirit Lu Ya is in the form of a Golden Crow. He was originally one of the ten princes of the ancient Heavenly Court. Later, the ten Golden Crows were plotted against and committed a grave mistake. Only one of them survived. The hatred that always existed in Lu Ya's heart made him a pitiful person. Almost every sect in the Three Realms had a grudge against him, especially Penglai Island. First, there was the hatred of Xuan Tian killing his father, and then the hatred of the Penglai Island disciples plotting to destroy his treasure. Although Lu Ya deeply hated the Penglai Island disciples, he was not strong enough to take revenge.
In truth, Lu Ya's aptitude was quite good. He possessed the body of a Golden Crow, the foremost of all primordial beings, and his talent was among the best in the Three Realms. Furthermore, he possessed a demonic cultivation method no weaker than the great arts of Taoism and Buddhism, and had spent some time under Nuwa's tutelage, demonstrating his exceptional abilities. However, for some unknown reason, despite cultivating for countless eons, he had failed to grasp the true Dao. Even the less advanced disciples of the Daoist schools were now more accomplished than him, a fact that deeply affected Lu Ya. Torn between the oppression of hatred and the pursuit of power, he was forced to make a choice.
The transformation of Duobao into Buddha gave him a glimpse into the Dao. After Duobao into Buddha became a Buddha and a quasi-saint, Lu Ya witnessed the wonders of Buddhism and was filled with longing. After some thought, he decided to abandon Taoism and follow Buddhism.
After learning that Shakyamuni had attained Buddhahood and established his teachings, he traveled westward to the Central Pure Land of Amitabha to pay homage to the Buddha, saying, "Homage to the Buddha, Namo Amitabha Buddha."
The guide nodded and asked, "Are you willing to convert?"
Lu Ya nodded and said, "This disciple is willing."
Upon hearing this, Jieyin nodded in satisfaction and pointed to the top of Lu Ya's head. Immediately, auspicious clouds appeared above Lu Ya's head, within which was a bright sun and the image of a three-clawed golden crow. Suddenly, Qingyun transformed into Buddhist light, and then into a five-zhang golden Buddha (in Buddhism, a golden body is considered a level of cultivation; achieving a golden body equates to becoming an Arhat. One zhang is an Arhat, two zhang is a Venerable, three and four zhang are Bodhisattvas, and five and six zhang are Buddhas. An Arhat is equivalent to a Taoist Taiyi Loose Immortal. A Venerable is equivalent to a Taoist Taiyi Golden Immortal. Among Bodhisattvas, a three-zhang golden body is equivalent to a Daluo Loose Immortal, and a four-zhang golden body is equivalent to a Daluo Golden Immortal. A five-zhang golden body in Buddha is equivalent to a Taoist master who has severed one corpse. A six-zhang golden body is equivalent to a Taoist master who has severed two corpses. When a six-zhang golden body is cultivated to its peak, it is equivalent to a Taoist Hunyuan Daluo Golden Immortal. Maitreya Buddha was forcibly elevated in cultivation by Amitabha Buddha to form a five-zhang golden body; currently, his strength is higher than a Daluo Golden Immortal but lower than a quasi-leader who has severed one corpse). Lu Ya's golden body has his palms facing upwards, right hand on top, left hand below, thumbs touching, placed below the navel, in the Dharma Realm Mudra.
The guide said, "You are the past Mahavairocana Buddha of Theravada Buddhism."
Lu Ya nodded and said, "Thank you, Buddha. Namo Amitabha Buddha."
After saying this, he turned to Shakyamuni and said, "Greetings to the Buddha Shakyamuni, the Tathagata."
Shakyamuni nodded and said, "Greetings to the Buddha Vairocana of the past."
After speaking, Shakyamuni Buddha summoned Maitreya Buddha, the future Buddha. The three of them manifested their golden bodies. Shakyamuni Buddha manifested a golden body six zhang tall, while Vairocana Buddha and Maitreya Buddha manifested golden bodies five zhang tall. Their heads were surrounded by radiant light and auspicious clouds. Shakyamuni Buddha put his hands together and exclaimed, "Excellent! Excellent!"
Now that I am a Buddha, I shall establish the Dharma realm; I shall travel westward to this Saha world and cross thirty-two Ganges River sands' worth of Buddha lands.
There is a world there called Unsurpassed. Why is that land called Unsurpassed?
All the beautiful things in that land are equal and without difference, just like the Western Paradise.
I appeared in that land to transform all sentient beings.
I am reborn in this world, Jambudvipa.
Not only does my body manifest and transform here, but all Buddhas also transform here.
Therefore, it is not that all Buddhas and World-Honored Ones do not practice these ten things.
To purify the land, first purify the mind; as the mind is purified, the Buddha-land is purified.
This realm is named Vaisravana, where the past Buddha, Prabhutaratna Tathagata, the present Buddha, Vairocana Tathagata, and the future Buddha, Amitabha, are gathered, marking the emergence of Theravada Buddhism. Excellent, excellent, Namo Amitabha Buddha.
As soon as these words were spoken, a radiant light of Buddha shone upon Mount Ling, and the sound resounded throughout the Three Realms. However, the faces of Zhunti and Amitabha Buddha turned somewhat pale. This was because the fortune of Mahayana Buddhism had been drained away by Theravada Buddhism, and these two Mahayana Buddhist leaders felt a sense of unease.
