Xihe remarried

Upon hearing the bell tolling, the Heavenly Court knew that Donghuang Taiyi had returned. Under Xihe's command, lanterns and decorations were hung throughout the Heavenly Court, and a joyous atmosphere permeated the air.

Since the death of Emperor Jun and the imprisonment of the Eastern Emperor a thousand years ago, the Heavenly Court has been in a very gloomy atmosphere. Today, Xihe was very happy to see that the Heavenly Court had finally regained some of its former atmosphere.

Before long, a red light appeared on the horizon. It was Donghuang Taiyi returning in a rainbow. Xihe and a group of people were already waiting at the South Heavenly Gate to welcome him, the pillar of the Heavenly Court.

Upon seeing Taiyi's return, Xihe quickly led the ten golden crows to greet him, "Uncle, you're finally back." Xihe smiled and said, "Come, greet your uncle." With that, she pulled the ten golden crows to bow to Taiyi.

Taiyi was delighted to see everyone come to greet him. After receiving the obeisance of the ten golden crows and the greetings of the ministers of the Heavenly Court, he felt a surge of pride, rekindling his former glory. He waved his hand and said, "Get up, all of you."

After everyone stood up, he strode ahead of them and walked inside. As he entered, he saw that the place was decorated with lanterns and colorful decorations. Suddenly, Taiyi became furious.

He turned to the crowd and asked, "Who has decorated this place with lanterns and streamers?"

Everyone was terrified by Taiyi's furious appearance, not knowing why he was angry. Shangyang stepped forward and said, "Your Highness, this was the Empress's idea, designed to welcome Your Highness's return." Shangyang didn't know why Taiyi was angry, but he knew it wasn't a good thing, so he had no choice but to turn his attention to Xihe.

Xihe didn't know why Taiyi was angry, and just looked at Taiyi strangely.

When Taiyi saw that it was Xihe's idea, he couldn't get angry at Xihe. He just said to the maids around him, "Remove all of these and replace them with white cloth."

After these things were replaced, the Heavenly Court became lifeless and oppressive once again.

After Taiyi and the others entered the Lingxiao Palace, they were about to walk to the place where he used to sit when the ministers stopped them, saying, "Your Highness, the Heavenly Emperor has passed away, and the Heavenly Court is without a ruler. After discussion, we all believe that Your Highness should take charge of the situation at this time and ascend to the throne of the Heavenly Emperor. Please take the seat." After saying this, the ministers, led by Shang Yang, knelt down before Taiyi.

After glancing at everyone, Taiyi did not refuse and went straight to the throne where Dijun used to sit. After Taiyi sat down, the people below stood up.

Taiyi said, “Previously, my elder brother Dijun died, and the Heavenly Court was without a leader. So I took my elder brother to take charge of the Heavenly Court.” He paused and then said, “Issue an order that for three days, all soldiers in the Heavenly Court should wear mourning clothes and the entire clan should refrain from killing for three days. During these three days, I will hold a memorial service for my elder brother.”

"As Your Majesty commands." Only then did the ministers realize why Taiyi had been so angry.

Seeing Taiyi like this, Xihe was very gratified, but thinking of Dijun, she couldn't help but shed tears again.

Thus, within three days, everyone in the Heavenly Court wore mourning clothes and plain clothes, and the demon race was also forbidden from fighting for three days. After three days, at the request of the Heavenly Court's ministers, Taiyi ascended to the throne of the Heavenly Emperor, and everything in the Heavenly Court gradually returned to its former glory.

One day, Xihe was resting in the Sun Palace. After Taiyi ascended to the throne of the Heavenly Emperor, it was no longer convenient for Xihe to live in the Empress Palace. So she moved away from the original Empress Palace and moved to the Sun Palace in the Sun Star.

The ten golden crows were frolicking in the Sun Palace. Xihe watched their joyful figures and couldn't help but think of Dijun again. Thinking of the loving days when Dijun was still alive, tears welled up in her eyes again.

Just then, a maid outside the palace shouted, "The Heavenly Emperor is coming!" Xihe was startled and quickly called to the ten golden crows. She got up and went outside the palace to greet Taiyi, only to find that Taiyi had already entered.

"I was unaware of your arrival, Uncle. I have failed to greet you properly. Please forgive me," Xihe said, bowing to Taiyi.

"It's alright. It was I who was being impolite to disturb you, sister-in-law. Please forgive me." Taiyi quickly reached out to help Xihe up, but Xihe dodged him. Taiyi withdrew his hand obsequiously.

"I wonder what brings you here, Uncle?" Xihe asked.

"Taiyi has come here for a great matter," Taiyi said.

"Oh? Something important? What important matter requires Uncle's personal attention?" Xihe asked, puzzled.

“Uh…” Taiyi suddenly turned his head to the Ten Golden Crows, as if he wanted to say something but stopped himself.

Seeing Taiyi's reaction, Xihe assumed that something truly important had happened, even the Ten Golden Crows were avoiding her. So she summoned the Ten Golden Crows and said, "You all go out and play. Your uncle and I have something important to discuss."

The ten golden crows were young and playful. Hearing Xihe's words, they happily left the Sun Palace and went to play on the Sun Star.

Xihe dismissed the ten golden crows, then turned to Taiyi and asked, "Uncle, what is the matter that is so important that even they can't hear about it?"

Seeing that the ten golden crows had left, Taiyi was no longer in a hurry. He walked to the stone table in the courtyard and said to Xihe, "Sister-in-law, please sit down and let Taiyi tell you in detail."

After Xihe sat down, Taiyi said, "I am deeply saddened by my elder brother's passing. However, the Heavenly Court cannot be without a ruler for even a day. I have no choice but to take over the position of Heavenly Emperor in place of my elder brother and fulfill his unfinished wishes."

When Xihe heard Taiyi say this, she thought of Dijun again and couldn't help but feel sad. "Your elder brother always hoped that the demon race could rule the world. This was his ideal all along. Unfortunately, he was killed by that scoundrel Xuantian and could not achieve it. Now, we can only trouble your uncle."

“This is my inescapable responsibility as your younger brother, sister-in-law, you don’t need to say that. I just don’t know if you have been well since your elder brother died?” Taiyi asked again.

"I am fine, but I often miss your elder brother. Fortunately, the Tenth Prince is with me, which makes me feel much better," Xihe said, wiping away her tears.

"By the way, didn't you say you had something important to discuss with me? What exactly is it?" Xihe asked again.

“This is indeed a major matter, concerning you and me, as well as the ten princes, and is also related to the stability of the Heavenly Court. However, if you agree, this matter will not be difficult to handle,” Taiyi said.
