The Golden Crows, having just killed Kuafu, were rejoicing and boasting about their contributions in the battle when Hou Yi suddenly cursed, "You hairy beasts, born of no one to teach you!" This enraged them. Since Di Jun's death and Xi He's remarriage to Taiyi, their status was no longer as high as it had been during Di Jun's lifetime. They were truly born of no one to teach them. Hou Yi's words struck a nerve. Just as they were about to erupt in anger, the second Golden Crow suddenly felt a chill, as if something big was about to happen. He looked up and saw Hou Yi aiming an arrow at him. Seeing that Hou Yi was tens of thousands of miles away, he chuckled and said, "Brothers, look! This man is actually trying to shoot me with an arrow! He can't possibly hit me from this distance." The other Golden Crows saw this and, sure enough, burst into laughter.
Hou Yi was an expert archer, but he was unassuming and kept a low profile. His bow and arrows were no ordinary weapons. Seeing the golden crow in the sky neither avoid nor dodge, he sneered inwardly. He drew back the Pangu Bow, his face flushed, as if holding his breath. With a sudden, powerful pull, he released the arrow. Hou Yi looked satisfied; he had finally shot! This shot was the most difficult he had ever accomplished, a true masterpiece. The arrow flew like a shooting star, chasing the moon and stars.
The second brother was laughing with the other golden crows when he suddenly felt a tightness in his heart, his vision went black, and he cried out "Wah!" as he fell down.
Hearing the cry of the second golden crow, the others looked and saw that the second golden crow had fallen to the ground, shot in the chest and dead. They were all shocked and fled to the Heavenly Court in fear.
How could Hou Yi let them escape? He drew his bow again, nocked another arrow, released his grip, and fired once more. With a "whoosh," another golden crow fell. He drew his bow again, and fired again. Hou Yi thought to himself, "I'll shoot, I'll shoot, I'll shoot again!" Finally, Hou Yi had shot all nine arrows. Hou Yi truly lived up to his reputation as one of the greatest sorcerers below the Ancestral Witches, his cultivation approaching that of the Ancestral Witches. He was incredibly powerful, shooting down nine suns in a row! Strong, too strong! Absolutely amazing!
Hou Yi was about to shoot, but he had no arrows left. He could only watch helplessly as the smallest golden crow escaped. Then he took Kuafu's body and returned to the Wu tribe.
Xiao Shi was terrified when he saw his brothers being shot to death one by one by Hou Yi. Just as he was feeling extremely uneasy, Hou Yi stopped shooting. He didn't know why, so he could only thank the heavens for allowing him to escape. He then went straight to the Heavenly Court. When he entered the palace, he saw Xi He and tearfully recounted the deaths of his nine brothers. She also twisted the truth, saying that Kua Fu had caused trouble for no reason, and the golden crows were so angry that they killed him. Hou Yi then killed nine more golden crows.
Xihe was already uneasy today, and when she saw Xiao Shi coming alone, she was very surprised and thought that this was no good news. When she heard what Xiao Shi said, she suddenly felt dizzy and the sun and moon disappeared. Her vision went black and she lost consciousness.
Upon hearing that Xihe had fainted, Taiyi rushed to the inner palace and found Xiaoshi kneeling on the ground, covered in wounds. He asked what had happened, and Xiaoshi repeated what he had told Xihe earlier, embellishing the story. This made Taiyi furious. When he saw that Xihe had woken up, he quickly comforted her.
Xihe cried out, "Your Majesty, nine princes have perished, leaving only Xiao Shi. After all, they are also princes of the Heavenly Court. Please, Your Majesty, for the sake of Di Jun, avenge them!" She then cried so bitterly that the sky darkened, which troubled Taiyi greatly.
Taiyi said, "Don't worry, I will definitely uphold justice for you and not let the Wu tribe get away with this." After saying this, he told Xihe to take it easy before getting up and going out to summon his ministers to discuss sending troops to punish the Wu tribe.
Hou Yi led Kuafu's corpse back to the Wu tribe and reported to the eleven ancestral witches. The ancestral witches were also furious. "That damned feathered beast killed our Wu tribe's great witch. I will definitely tear him to pieces."
The Wu tribe was originally formed from the essence of Pangu's blood, and there were very few great Wu. Now that a top-level great Wu has died, the ancestral Wu are naturally furious.
Not to mention that the ancestral witch of the Wu tribe also wanted to send troops to conquer the Heavenly Court after learning about this, Hou Yi returned home and told Chang'e about the death of Kuafu. He was very sad and mentioned that the ancestral witch wanted to send troops to conquer the Heavenly Court.
Chang'e said with a somber expression, "In this campaign against the Heavenly Court, swords have no eyes during the great battle. You must be careful!"
Hou Yi took Chang'e's hand and said, "Don't worry, this time my Wu clan is determined to win. Emperor Jun of the Heavenly Court is dead. Although my Wu clan has lost the Ancestral Witch Houtu, we are still more powerful than the Heavenly Court. Don't worry."
"It's a pity I can't help you with anything," Chang'e sighed.
"When have I ever needed a woman's help? Don't worry, I'm fine. If you don't believe me, let's try it out." Hou Yi laughed, then pulled Chang'e over and reached his hands over her body. Chang'e laughed and twisted her body, trying to get rid of Hou Yi's harassment, but the twisting only fueled their passion. Hou Yi was also aroused, and in a couple of moves, he stripped Chang'e naked and pushed her down.
Perhaps because he had shot too many arrows during the day, or perhaps because Hou Yi wanted to relive the feeling of the daytime, he shot again not long afterward. Hou Yi thought to himself, "This feeling is so good!!"
Two days later, Hou Yi went to the tribe to handle some affairs, leaving Chang'e alone at home.
Not long after, a Taoist priest arrived. He had a white beard and silver hair, and a refined and otherworldly air about him. He said to Chang'e, "Benefactor, I have traveled far and wide and have come here to ask for a drink of water. I found this place to be lush and prosperous."
Chang'e was a mortal, beautiful in appearance. She fell in love with Hou Yi at first sight, and Hou Yi, disregarding the objections of the Wu tribe, resolutely brought Chang'e back to his tribe. Chang'e was kind-hearted and possessed no supernatural powers, so she could not see the Taoist's true form and gave him a bowl of water as he asked.
After drinking the water, the Taoist said to Chang'e, "You are kind-hearted, and I will never forget your kindness in giving me this water. I have a magic pill that was refined by Laozi, one of the Three Pure Ones. If a mortal eats it, he can become a celestial being and retain his youth forever. I am giving it to you, and I hope you will not refuse."
As a mortal, Chang'e's greatest fears were birth, aging, sickness, and death. Moreover, being a woman, she knew that although Hou Yi loved her now, she couldn't guarantee that he would still love her after she grew old and lost her beauty. Hearing that this elixir could preserve her youth forever, Chang'e was overjoyed and accepted it, then bowed and thanked the Taoist priest.
