Hearing the strange sound and sensing the unusual changes around him, Xing Tian stopped groping for his head. He knew that the Jade Emperor had buried his head, and he would forever remain headless. He stood there blankly, like a dark, imposing mountain. He imagined the Jade Emperor's smug expression, and the thought of his unfulfilled wish. He was furious. He was unwilling to be defeated by the Jade Emperor like this. Suddenly, Xing Tian, headless and bare-chested, used his nipples as eyes, his navel as a mouth, and his body as his head. The "eyes" on his nipples spewed flames of anger, and the round navel emitted hateful curses. His head was as solid and stable as a mountain, and the axe and shield he held in his hands were wielded with incredible power. He held the shield in one hand and raised the great axe in the other, wildly hacking and slashing at the sky, continuing his desperate struggle against the unseen enemy before him. Seeing the headless Xing Tian still angrily wielding his shield and axe, the Jade Emperor trembled inwardly, filled with fear. He dared not lay a hand on Xing Tian any further and quietly slipped back to the Heavenly Court.
In the primordial world, Xuanyuan brought Chiyou back to his tribe, enumerating dozens of Chiyou's crimes and sentencing him to beheading. Tribes from all around, who had suffered under Chiyou's oppression, came to watch, young and old alike. As Chiyou was brought out, cheers erupted for Xuanyuan, while curses swirled around him. Axemen pinned Chiyou down and struck him with axes, but he remained unharmed. Chiyou laughed loudly: "Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Xuanyuan, you little brat! I am a great shaman! Not to mention ordinary axes, even innate spiritual treasures cannot easily harm me! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!! Ha!"
Xuanyuan laughed and said, "Do you really think I can't kill you?" After saying that, he took the Xuanyuan Sword from his waist and handed it to the executioner, saying, "You can use this sword to cut off Chiyou's head." The executioner took the Xuanyuan Sword and swung it at Chiyou. Sure enough, Chiyou's head was cut off and rolled to the ground.
Before Xuanyuan could rejoice, he heard a voice coming from the head of Chiyou on the ground, saying, "Xuanyuan brat, do you think you can kill me with this?" Xuanyuan was shocked. It turned out that after Chiyou was reincarnated as a human, he had a primordial spirit. Later, in order to refine his immortal body, Chiyou forged his primordial spirit and physical body together. Even the Xuanyuan Sword could not kill him; it could only sever him.
Xuanyuan was furious and personally drew his sword to cut Chiyou into five pieces. However, Chiyou was still alive, and his flesh was constantly attracting each other, showing signs of resurrection. Everyone was terrified, fearing that Chiyou would be resurrected again. Just then, several dragon roars came from the sky. Everyone looked up and saw a boy driving five dragon horses down from the sky. When Chiyou saw the five dragon horses, his expression changed drastically. The boy stepped forward and said to Xuanyuan, "The two Holy Emperors of Huoyun Palace have ordered me to send five dragon horses to suppress Chiyou." Xuanyuan was overjoyed and quickly ordered everyone to tie Chiyou's limbs and head to the dragon horses. He then ordered five tribesmen to drive the dragon horses in five directions, and had Chiyou's body divided into six parts and placed on five dragon horses to be driven to the farthest places in six directions. They were buried at the foot of the mountain, and several cultivators joined forces to set up a sealing formation to seal Chiyou's six parts of his body under the mountain, preventing them from reuniting.
Sixty-three years later, Emperor Xuanyuan ruled the world, and Cangjie invented characters.
The rebellion of the Nine Li tribes had been quelled, and the Youxiong tribe had unified the human race. Xuanyuan became the Human Emperor, one of the Three Sovereigns of Heaven, Earth, and Man, who unified the entire human race. His fame spread far and wide, and his position as the supreme ruler of the human race was firmly established. He was also recommended by his ministers, and because Xuanyuan possessed the virtue of earth, he was given the title "Yellow Emperor," which signifies the abundance of earth.
After unifying the world, the Yellow Emperor divided the land into provinces and fields, established rites and music, and educated the people. He also invented various utensils and objects to facilitate daily life. Among them, his minister Cao Hu invented the upper garment, Boyu made the lower garment, and Yu Ze made shoes. From then on, the people no longer wore animal skins or tree bark. The Yellow Emperor also created boats based on the principle of floating leaves on water, and used a drum to propel them across the water. He also invented the cart based on the principle of tumbleweeds, facilitating transportation. Huang Yongfu invented the spring, and the Yellow Emperor then ordered the creation of the cauldron, allowing people to steam rice and cook porridge. Later, he built houses and cities, so that people no longer had to live in nests or caves. The Yellow Emperor and Qi Bo also wrote the Inner and Outer Canons, which cured the people's diseases. He also determined the names of all things in the world and divided the stars into 28 constellations. He used the ten Heavenly Stems (甲乙) to record days and the twelve Earthly Branches (子丑) to record months, with sixty days forming a Jiazi cycle. The Yellow Emperor had four consorts and ten concubines. The emperor's principal wife was Leizu of the Xiling clan. She personally planted mulberry trees, raised silkworms, and taught the people how to spin and weave, earning her the title "First Silkworm." Leizu organized a large group of women to go up the mountains to cultivate mulberry trees, raise silkworms, and weave silk. However, they soon encountered a major problem: while they had raised many silkworms and produced a considerable amount of cocoons, spinning silk and weaving silk proved difficult. At this time, a short, dark-skinned, and ugly woman among the group invented the spinning wheel for winding silk and the loom for weaving. Upon learning of this, the emperor greatly praised the invention and asked her to teach the skills to the people. Later, through Leizu's matchmaking, the emperor married this ugly woman as his secondary wife, who was respectfully called Mo Mu. All these changes made the people content with their food, beautiful in their clothing, joyful in their customs, and at peace in their homes. A scene of great peace and prosperity unfolded.
One day, the Yellow Emperor was admiring the scenery on the Luo River with his ministers when suddenly a large bird carrying a map in its beak placed before him. The Yellow Emperor immediately bowed and accepted it. Looking at the bird, he saw it resembled a crane, with a chicken's head, a swallow's beak, a tortoise's neck, a dragon's shape, paired wings, a fish's tail, and all five colors. The characters on the map were "慎德" (shèndé, prudence), "仁义" (rényì, benevolence and righteousness), and "仁智" (rénzhì, benevolence and wisdom). The Yellow Emperor had never seen this bird before, so he consulted the Old Man of Heaven. The Old Man of Heaven told him that the male bird was called the Phoenix, and the female was called the Phoenix. Its call in the morning signified "登晨" (dēngchén, ascending to dawn), its call during the day signified "上祥" (shàngxiáng, auspiciousness), its call at dusk signified "归昌" (guīchāng, returning to prosperity), and its call at night signified "保长" (bǎocháng, protection and prosperity). The appearance of the Phoenix signified peace and tranquility throughout the land—a very auspicious omen. Later, the Yellow Emperor dreamed that two dragons emerged from the Yellow River carrying a white map and presented it to him. The Yellow Emperor, puzzled, again consulted the Old Man of Heaven. Tian Lao replied, "Your Majesty, try looking at the riverbank; will Heaven bestow upon you the map?" The Yellow Emperor then traveled with Tian Lao and others between the Yellow River and the Luo River, submerging the jade disc in the river and sacrificing three kinds of animals in a fast. Initially, there was a dense fog for three days. Then, there was a heavy rain for seven days and seven nights. Afterward, a large fish swam upstream, carrying a white map box with orchid leaves and tortoise shell patterns on its back, and leaped near the bank to present it to the Emperor. The Emperor, knowing it was an auspicious omen, bowed and presented it to the fish, which then swam away. The Emperor again looked towards the river and bowed in gratitude. Unfolding it, he saw that it was called the "Map and Register." He ordered his attendants to hold the box securely, and then returned to the capital.
