Xuanyuan had great merits and was the only one of the Three Sovereigns to truly unify the human race. Of the Three Sovereigns, the Heavenly Sovereign Fuxi led the development of the human race, the Earthly Sovereign Shennong positioned the human race as the protagonist, and the Human Sovereign Xuanyuan truly unified the human race. The primordial world was vast, and the human race now numbered over 10 billion, but it was not considered a very large scale. In comparison, the Earth in later generations could be described as a tiny place, and compared to the overall area of the primordial world, it was like a firefly compared to the bright moon, incomparable. However, the Earth also had 6 to 7 billion people, not to mention many uncultivated areas. Even if the human race in the primordial world numbered in the hundreds of billions, it would not seem crowded, and it would still be very desolate.
Xuanyuan was the most famous of the Three Sovereigns, so his abdication ceremony could not be rushed. At this time, Chenjun was no longer the same size as before, but had a diameter of several hundred miles. It was the base of the entire human race, integrating politics, culture and economy. The area around Chenjun and north of the Yellow River was called the Central Plains. The human race developed rapidly, and it was based on this.
On the day of the abdication ceremony, a massive crowd once again gathered outside Chenjun Square, stretching as far as the eye could see. Xuanyuan, clad in imperial robes, holding the Xuanyuan Sword, and wearing the Nine Dragons and Stars Crown, slowly walked onto the altar. On the altar were statues of Xuantian, Nuwa, and the Three Pure Ones. Xuanyuan first offered a prayer to them. It was customary for the previous emperors not to attend the abdication ceremony; now only disciples of various religions had come to observe, which was considered a gesture of goodwill, and Xuanyuan had nothing more to say.
At noon, the master of ceremonies announced that the auspicious time had arrived, and Xuanyuan announced that he would pass the throne of the Human Emperor to Zhuanxu: Zhuanxu, surname Ji, style name Gaoyang, grandson of the Yellow Emperor, son of Changyi, was twenty years old at the time.
As Xuanyuan finished speaking, celestial music resounded from beyond the Thirty-Three Heavens, and ten thousand golden lotuses slowly floated down. Everyone felt refreshed and invigorated. A chariot pulled by nine five-clawed golden dragons descended from the sky and stopped beside Xuanyuan. Seated were Fuxi and Shennong. Xuanyuan bowed and said, "I have troubled my two senior brothers to come and receive me." The two smiled and said, "It is only right." At this moment, a white cloud drifted in from the horizon, upon which stood a Taoist priest, none other than the Grand Master Xuandu, the chief disciple of the Three Pure Ones Taoism. Grand Master Xuandu took out an imperial edict from his robes, glanced at Xuanyuan, and read: "By the holy decree of the Supreme Lord Laozi, the leader of the Human Sect: Xuanyuan, the common ruler of the human race, has enlightened all people and rendered meritorious service to the human race for thousands of years. Now that his merits are complete, he is hereby appointed as the Human Emperor of the human race, and his residence is the Fire Cloud Cave outside the Thirty-Three Heavens!" Xuanyuan stepped forward to receive the edict and said, "Thank you, Holy One!" Xuanyuan was supposed to be a disciple of the Human Sect, but his formal teacher was Guangchengzi, so there was no need for him to call Laozi his teacher. Xuandu knew the reason for this and did not point it out. He simply smiled and said, "Please, Human Emperor, take the dragon carriage!" At this moment, a seven-colored ray of light flew from the sky and landed on Xuanyuan. It was the heavens' response to Xuanyuan's great contributions to the human race and the bestowal of merits as a reward. The seven-colored radiance split into three clusters. The largest cluster, with nearly 70% of its energy, merged into the top of Xuanyuan's head. Another 10% merged into the Nine Dragons Star Crown above Xuanyuan's head, and nearly 10% flew to Huixin, who added it to the Zixiao Sword in her hand, increasing the sword's restrictions by 30% and giving it the benefit of killing without incurring karmic consequences. Nearly 10% flew to Liaozhen, who added it to the Kunwu Eight Swords. The eight swords originally only had 32 layers of restrictions, but after adding merit, the restrictions increased by 20%, making them even more effective and allowing killing without incurring karmic consequences—truly a fine sword.
Guang Chengzi, as the Imperial Tutor, received less than half a percent of the merit, which truly angered him, yet he was powerless to do anything about it. In teaching Xuanyuan, he only taught him some Jade Purity Immortal Techniques and that was it. Later, he didn't contribute much to Xuanyuan's success, so he was already quite fortunate to receive this much merit. He dared not use his merit to refine treasures like Huixin and Zhen; they were too wealthy and regarded merit as dirt. Guang Chengzi could only absorb the merit into his body to improve his cultivation. At least he entered the Great Luo True Immortal Realm, which was comparable to a period of arduous cultivation.
Xuanyuan, Fuxi, and Shennong exchanged a glance. Xuanyuan drew his Xuanyuan Sword, and the three emperors proclaimed in unison, "If Heaven and Earth have spirits, and if this divine sword has consciousness, heed the words of Xuanyuan (Fuxi and Shennong): From this day forward, every emperor who wields this sword shall cultivate virtue internally and practice martial arts externally. Internally, spread benevolence widely, ensuring the people of the East live in peace and prosperity, free from worry; externally, exert great power, so that even those beyond the borders will respect our people and our nation. If any of our descendants commit unworthy acts, the disciples of Penglai Island may use this sword to behead them." Heaven and Earth, moved by the three emperors' oath, bestowed boundless golden light of merit, which fell directly into the 'Xuanyuan' sword, making it a sacred weapon of the Human Religion, capable of beheading unworthy emperors without incurring karmic consequences. In an instant, a strange connection arose between the sword and the disciples of Penglai Island; it seemed that with a mere gesture, the sword would soar into the sky.
Xuanyuan removed the Nine Dragons Star Crown from his head, and the Three Sovereigns declared in unison, "This crown was crafted by our Holy Father and has been worn by generations of human leaders since the dawn of humanity, for their many contributions to the human race. From now on, this crown will be worn by the Human Sovereign. Those without this crown will not be recognized by the human race. Remember this!" At the same time, a golden light of merit flew from the heads of the Three Sovereigns and merged into the Nine Dragons Star Crown. The Nine Dragons Star Crown then magnified infinitely, its projection filling the heavens and earth, and was seen by all of humanity in the primordial world. Countless beams of faith, like weary birds returning to their nests, flew into the Nine Dragons Star Crown. Nine nine-clawed divine dragons emerged from the crown and circled around it. This crown, having been infused with merit several times, already had thirty-eight layers of restrictions. Now, having received the merit of the Three Sovereigns' Oath and the faith of the people, the restrictions within it have directly risen to forty-one layers, becoming the supreme merit artifact of the Human Cult. It combines offense and defense. When attacking, it releases nine nine-clawed divine dragons at the level of Great Luo Golden Immortals to attack. When defending, it is protected by golden light of merit, making it impervious to all evil and unbreakable by all magic.
