This man was named Han Fei, the same Jin Linzi Daoist. After parting ways with Su Yu, he wandered the prehistoric world alone. After seeing the Confucian and Mohist schools, he gained some insight. Others might not know the origins of the two schools, but he did. Seeing that the other two had made achievements, Jin Linzi naturally did not want to fall behind. However, being of the metal element, he was straightforward and strong-willed, and for a time he could not comprehend the great Dao in his heart.
However, he was still a quasi-saint, a person of great wisdom. He immediately traveled through the primordial world, learned about all kinds of schools of thought, and after learning from their strengths and making up for their weaknesses, he put forward his own views, pointed out the shortcomings of each school, and combined with his Dao of Sharp Metal, comprehended the Dao of Legalism.
Twenty-nine, the struggles between various parties, a grand discussion.
Inside the Eight Views Palace, Laozi narrowed his eyes, glanced at the East Sea with a strange expression, and muttered to himself, "What are you trying to do with this move?"
Inside the Jade Void Palace, the Primordial Celestial Venerable remained expressionless, glanced at his hands, and sighed softly…
In the Western Paradise, Amitabha Buddha looked distressed, while Cundi Buddha seemed to be experiencing a joyous occasion...
Inside Biyou Palace, Tongtian watched the performance in the mortal realm with amusement...
In Nuwa's palace, Nuwa gazed at the ground, as if it contained an endless Great Dao...
On Penglai Island, Xuan Tian looked at Han Fei and said with a wry smile, "Did I make a mistake back then?"
Regardless of what the other sages thought, Han Fei was in a bit of an awkward situation. He had no choice but to do this. His school of thought started relatively late. Compared to other schools, they had been promoting themselves for a long time. His Legalist school of thought was not the latest, but it could not compare with others. Seeing that the doctrines of his two fellow disciples were so prosperous, how could he compete with them if he did not make a big splash?
Han Fei caused such a commotion, but the great sages who were engaged in a debate, though surprised, were not impressed. Among the three religions and nine schools of thought, which great school of thought did not change the world and cause an upheaval?
However, Han Fei's statement, "When the Legalists emerge, the world will be at peace!" was unacceptable to everyone. What a joke! If the Legalists bring peace to the world, does that mean our doctrines cannot bring peace to the world?
Arrogant! Utterly arrogant! This was the thought in the minds of all the great sages present.
Immediately, the great sages forgot their rivals who had just been fighting to the death with them, and formed a new alliance, turning their attention to Han Fei, who was standing at the front.
A single drop of saliva is like rain, but a deluge of saliva can drown a person...
A barrage of words, flying everywhere!
Seeing this, Han Fei felt that he was being a bit too arrogant, but he was not afraid at all. If he didn't have some skill, how could he dare to come here and make a fuss? He shouted loudly, "Today, I, Han Fei, establish the Legalist School. Anyone who does not agree with me may come forward and compete with me to determine who is superior! Such insults are an insult to the reputation of our schools!" The great sages secretly became alert, seeing that Han Fei had come prepared. They all composed themselves and were ready to see how Han Fei would debate with the various schools of thought.
An elderly man with white hair spoke first: "A mere child, yet you dare to speak of peace and tranquility? May I ask who your teacher is?" Han Fei replied: "Learning has no order of precedence; the accomplished are the teachers! Such questions are beyond my ability to answer!" Han Fei said this, but he could not reveal anything. He couldn't very well say that he was a disciple of the Xuan Tian Sage of Penglai Island, could he? Firstly, he couldn't expose his purpose; secondly, he didn't want to rely on any side. He had to earn his position through his own abilities.
Upon hearing Han Fei's words, the old man's face turned red, and he pointed at Han Fei, saying, "You...you...you..." He was so angry that he couldn't speak.
Another middle-aged man said, "You are very young, a mere commoner, with no experience whatsoever. How can you possibly pacify the world?" Han Fei replied, "Xiang Tuo became a teacher at the age of seven, and Gan Luo became prime minister at twelve. To pacify the world, one only needs talent and learning; why must one be old?" "Nonsense! I've lived longer than your ancestors," Han Fei thought to himself. Indeed, he was a figure from the ancient Three Races period. Back then, not only were humans insignificant, but even the Witch and Demon races were still minor figures.
The middle-aged man then asked, "What does 'law' refer to as a school of thought?" Han Fei answered quickly, "The Legalists combine 'law,' 'technique,' and 'power.' 'Law' refers to sound laws and regulations; 'technique' refers to the strategies and means by which a ruler controls his ministers, holds power, and enforces laws; 'power' refers to the monarch's authority. When these three are combined, nothing is ever unsuccessful!" The assembled sages looked thoughtful, while the Prime Minister of the Western Zhou Dynasty, who was watching their debate, nodded repeatedly.
In the midst of the chaos of the Western Zhou Dynasty, whether attacking or being attacked by other states, the primary task for all vassal states was to expand their armies and prepare for war. Military expansion and preparation demanded swift and efficient action; therefore, strengthening the centralized authority of the monarch and making rapid decisions, sweeping away the previous practices of ineffective and procrastinating governance, would undoubtedly yield twice the results with half the effort!
The Western Zhou Dynasty was practically defunct, and the various vassal states only nominally submitted to it because of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty's legitimacy. However, for the Zhou Dynasty to regain its former glory was as difficult as ascending to heaven—or rather, as difficult as reaching the Thirty-Three Heavens, since ascending to heaven wasn't particularly difficult in this era. The Prime Minister of Zhou had been troubled by this matter, and upon hearing Han Fei's words, he naturally felt a sudden sense of enlightenment!
The wise and accomplished scholars of various schools of thought naturally realized this as well, and immediately put aside their contempt for Han Fei and began to take him seriously!
Among the various schools of thought, the School of Names excelled in debate. Huang Liao, a disciple of the School of Names, stepped forward and asked, "Is the law the law of people or the law of things? Is it the law of the present or the law of the past?"
