Yun Zhongzi Exorcises Demons

"Sister, I'm fine. I was just thinking about how to persuade the King later." Daji gently removed Queen Jiang's hand from her body. The Queen's affectionate gesture made her feel extremely uncomfortable because of the guilt in her heart.

Empress Jiang noticed nothing amiss and comforted her, telling her not to worry, and continued to lead her forward. Daji, however, walked slowly behind, wishing the road would never end and that they would never reach their destination.

But things didn't go as she wished. Before long, they arrived at King Zhou's palace. Daji looked at Queen Jiang with a complicated expression. Finally, she made up her mind. With a casual flick of her finger, a faint demonic aura was drawn onto Queen Jiang.

At the same time, the giant sword hanging above the palace suddenly gleamed, emitting a huge golden light from within. It vibrated and broke free, flying straight towards Empress Jiang, attacking her. Empress Jiang had never encountered such a situation before, and was immediately terrified. She didn't know why the giant sword was attacking her and the others. Remembering that Daji was still beside her, a thought flashed through her mind. She pushed Daji aside and stepped forward to face the flying giant sword alone.

The surrounding palace maids and guards were all shocked, but by the time they tried to help, it was too late. They could only watch helplessly as the giant sword, gleaming with golden light, pierced into Empress Jiang's body.

Daji was already unsettled after doing that, and she was caught off guard by the flying sword. However, she was accidentally pushed away by Empress Jiang. In that instant, Daji's mind was like a giant bell, as if the Chaos Bell was vibrating in her mind. It shook her heart and caused her psychological defenses to crumble. She stared blankly as the giant sword pierced into Empress Jiang's body, unable to believe it. After a moment, she rushed towards Empress Jiang like a madwoman. The incident happened so suddenly that no one around noticed why the seemingly delicate Consort Su could move so fast.

Daji, as if possessed, embraced Empress Jiang's body, tears streaming down her face. The sweet, charming voice that should have come from her cherry-like lips was now replaced by a heart-wrenching, piercing cry, the sound of her sobs sending chills down the spines of everyone around her.

Twenty-six hundred officials were in a dilemma.

Such a momentous event had been reported to King Zhou long ago. However, King Zhou was not in his palace when the incident occurred, but in the court. The incident happened so suddenly that the eunuch who came to report did not notice that there were civil and military officials in the hall, who were holding court at the time.

King Zhou, reminded by Daji, rarely had the chance to attend court today. He listened to the reports of state affairs from his attendants, feeling utterly dejected. Suddenly, a eunuch stumbled and scrambled into the hall. Enraged, King Zhou shouted before the eunuch could speak, "How dare you! Who are you? How dare you be so insolent? Is this a place for an ignorant fool like you to barge in? Guards, seize this man and execute him!" His guards immediately rushed forward to seize the eunuch.

Upon hearing this, the eunuch was greatly alarmed. Forgetting to bow to King Zhou, he cried out, "Your Majesty, Queen Jiang is dead!" His words were like a thunderclap, sending the court officials into a frenzy. King Zhou was also stunned, and before he could speak, the Vice Minister Bi Gan angrily shouted, "You audacious scoundrel! How dare you spout such nonsense and curse my mother! Truly despicable! Indeed, Queen Jiang, as the Queen Mother, was always virtuous and lived in the palace. We have never heard of her having any health problems. How could she have died so suddenly?" Shang Rong also asked in bewilderment.

King Zhou was furious. He jumped up and pointed at the eunuch, saying, "You scoundrel, who ordered you to dare to openly curse the Queen in this temple?" With that, he drew his sword and was about to jump down from the platform to kill the man.

The young eunuch had never witnessed such a scene before and was completely terrified. Seeing King Zhou approach with his sword, he collapsed to the ground, limp as a board. As King Zhou drew near, he suddenly found the strength to kowtow repeatedly, saying, "How dare I deceive Your Majesty and curse the Queen! The Queen is indeed dead, right before Your Majesty's bedchamber. All those present can testify to this. I truly dare not deceive Your Majesty!" His voice was utterly pitiful, clearly terrified by King Zhou's ferocious appearance.

King Zhou and his ministers were stunned. They couldn't care less about anything else. King Zhou took the lead and rushed to his palace, forgetting to even put away his sword. The ministers followed him. They would never have dared to do this in the past, but today the matter was too important to worry about.

A large and imposing procession surged into the inner palace, creating a magnificent scene. King Zhou, sword in hand, galloped forward. His early training had made him exceptionally strong, far surpassing the others, and he arrived at his bedchamber first.

Upon approaching the scene, they found a group of palace maids and guards standing around at a loss. When they saw King Zhou arrive, they hurriedly knelt down to greet him. King Zhou ignored them and walked straight ahead. The civil and military officials behind him also arrived. After parting the chaotic crowd, they finally saw the body of Queen Jiang.

At the palace gate, a beautiful young woman was holding a graceful woman in her arms. A sword was stuck in the woman's chest. King Zhou recognized it as the giant sword that the Daoist Yun Zhongzi had sent the other day. The woman was Queen Jiang. Blood was still flowing from her chest, indicating that she had just died.

The person holding Queen Jiang was none other than Consort Su, Daji. At this moment, Daji was no longer the delicate and beautiful woman she once was. Her face was washed clean by tears, like a tender flower after being battered by wind and rain, making people feel sorry for her. Her eyes were blank, and she was holding Queen Jiang tightly in her arms. She sat down on the ground, not caring that the blood flowing from the queen was staining her. Her face was extremely pale, and there was no blood on her lips. She uttered "sister" intermittently. She was like a dazed person, with an indescribable fear and dejection in her expression.

Daji's pitiful state saddened everyone, especially King Zhou, who felt immense pity for her. He was about to step forward to comfort her when his guards stopped him. King Zhou was furious, saying, "The Queen is dead! Instead of comforting Consort Su, you're blocking my way! Are you courting death?" The guards quickly replied, "Your Majesty, please don't go. If you do, Consort Daji will surely blast you away." Seeing King Zhou's doubt, they added, "We tried before, trying to persuade the Queen to move aside, but she blasted us away as soon as we got close. We fear we might hurt her, so we dare not approach." King Zhou still didn't believe them. He pushed aside the guards and maids and tried to pull Daji up, but Daji was now like a madwoman, attacking wildly without regard for who was attacking, forcing even King Zhou to dodge. King Zhou was also puzzled as to how the usually delicate Consort Su could possess such strength today, even he himself was no match for her.
