Zhuxian Sword Formation

Fa Jie then said, "Peng Zun was my disciple, but he died at the hands of Lei Zhenzi. Just tell him to come see me, so we don't have to fight!" Lei Zhenzi, who was nearby, heard the word "Lei" slip from his tongue and flew into a rage, cursing, "You damned scoundrel! Here I come!" He summoned his Wind and Thunder Wings and flew into the air, striking down with his golden cudgel. Fa Jie hastily parried with his sword. After four or five rounds of fighting, Fa Jie jumped out of the circle, took out a banner, and waved it at Lei Zhenzi. Lei Zhenzi fell to the ground. Xu Gai's soldiers captured Lei Zhenzi; although he was bound, he was unconscious with his eyes closed. Fa Jie shouted, "This time we will definitely capture Jiang Shang!" Nezha, who was nearby, was furious and cursed, "What evil magic does this demon use to dare to harm my brother?" He mounted his Wind and Fire Wheels, brandished his Fire-Tipped Spear, and fought Fa Jie. Before Fa Jie had even exchanged three or four blows, he hurriedly took out the banner and... Nezha. Nezha was the incarnation of Lingzhu, but he had no soul. How could they possibly capture him? Fajie, seeing Nezha safely alighting from his Wind-Fire Wheels, was already in a hurry. Nezha, seeing Fajie holding a banner in his hand, knew it was unorthodox magic and couldn't harm him, so he quickly unleashed his Qiankun Ring to strike. Fajie couldn't dodge in time and they exchanged blows. Just as Nezha was about to thrust with his spear, Fajie had already used earth magic to escape. Ziya withdrew his troops and returned to camp, finding Lei Zhenzi dead, and was very angry, puzzled in the central army. Meanwhile, Fajie, having been attacked by Nezha, fled back to the pass. Xu Gai, seeing Fajie return wounded, asked, "Master, how did you fail in the first battle today?" Fajie replied, "It's alright, I misused this treasure. He was originally the incarnation of Lingzhu, without a soul, how could I capture him?" He quickly took a pill, ate it, and immediately recovered completely; he instructed his men, "Bring Lei Zhenzi here!" Fajie turned the banner twice to the right in front of Lei Zhenzi. Lei Zhenzi opened his eyes and saw that he had been captured. Fa Jie was furious and cursed, "Because of you, I've been beaten up by Nezha again!" He ordered his men, "Take him away and kill him!" Xu Gai, standing by, explained, "Since you, Master, have come to serve as my subordinate, we cannot execute him yet. Let him be imprisoned temporarily until he is taken to Chaoge, where the Emperor will decide his fate. This will show Master's great merit, and also let him know that I have done you a small favor." (Reader's note: Xu Gai was intentionally defecting to Zhou, so he used this as a pretext.) Fa Jie, upon hearing this, laughed and said, "General's words are very reasonable."

The next day, Fa Jie emerged from the pass and challenged Zhou Yu to battle. The military and political officials reported this to Zi Ya. Zi Ya immediately led his troops out to engage him, shouting, "Fa Jie! Today we'll settle this once and for all!" He spurred his Qilin (a mythical creature) and charged straight at Fa Jie, sword in hand. Fa Jie met him head-on with his sword. Before they had exchanged more than a few blows, Li Jing arrived on horseback, brandishing his halberd, to assist Zi Ya. Zi Ya then unleashed his God-Slaying Whip to strike Fa Jie. However, this weapon only struck gods; Fa Jie was not listed on the Investiture of the Gods. Indeed: "No name on the Investiture of the Gods, yet fearless of the Kunlun Whip."
