Zhunti's words inexplicably angered the Eastern Sages. Xuantian glanced at him and said coldly, "Is my Eastern Sect without virtue?"
The Three Pure Ones also glared at Zhunti. Zhunti seemed to have been wronged for no reason and was about to argue when Jieyin pulled him back.
Yuanshi said, "How about we entrust the four swords to my Chan Sect for safekeeping, and the formation diagram to our eldest brother, Taishang Laojun?"
Xuantian turned to Tongtian and said, "Since this item was bestowed by our teacher, I, as your elder brother, dare not act on my own initiative. I would like to ask my junior brother to make the decision."
Laojun spoke up, saying, "This time, Brother Tongtian is using this treasure to obstruct the Investiture of the Gods, which is an act against Heaven. The Four Swords of Zhuxian and the array diagram should no longer be held by Brother Tongtian." Yuanshi also echoed this.
Tongtian coldly glanced at the four saints and said angrily, "Say whatever you want. I was defeated today, but you all know how to bully the weak with numbers. We will settle this at the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation another day." He then looked at Xuantian and said, "I will leave the whereabouts of the four swords and the formation diagram to my senior brother. I trust your morality and will give me a satisfactory explanation."
Xuan Tian nodded upon hearing Tong Tian's words and said, "In that case, I will act as your brother in charge." After thinking for a moment, he said, "As the Heavenly Dao operates, I will keep the Immortal Slaughtering Formation Diagram for a hundred years. It will have its purpose in the future, and I will hand it over to the person who needs it." Seeing Tong Tian nod, Xuan Tian added, "As for the four swords, I will shamelessly ask you for them."
Tongtian's face showed some anger after hearing Xuantian's words, but after all, he had been helped by Xuantian before, and besides, if Xuantian hadn't helped him, the four swords and the array diagram wouldn't have remained in his hands. After thinking for a moment, he nodded.
Xuan Tian observed Tong Tian's expression from beginning to end and laughed, "Junior brother, please listen to what I have to say. Since you are in charge of the sect, you cannot be without something to protect it. It is already beneath me to shamelessly ask you for a magic weapon. How can I leave you without a treasure to protect the sect?" After saying that, Xuan Tian took out an item from his own body, which was the "Kongtong Seal".
Amidst the astonished expressions of the saints, Xuantian handed the "Kongtong Seal" to Tongtian and said, "This treasure is my condition for exchanging the Four Swords of Zhuxian. In my opinion, junior brother, how about exchanging this treasure for the Four Swords of Zhuxian?"
Tongtian was also quite surprised. To be honest, the "Kongtong Seal" was much better than the Four Swords of Zhuxian. All innate objects have the effect of suppressing destiny, but there are big differences among them.
If we're talking about the best way to suppress fortune, then the three great creation treasures and two sacred artifacts of merit are naturally the best. For example, Laozi's Taiji Diagram and Xuanhuang Pagoda are the most prosperous in fortune for the Human Sect. Yuanshi of the Chan Sect has the Pangu Banner, so he doesn't have to worry about insufficient fortune.
Slightly inferior to the five treasures for suppressing destiny are the magical artifacts in Xuan Tian's possession. Firstly, there's the Heaven and Earth Dust Brush, also a supreme innate treasure (previously, the Primordial Purple Qi within the Heaven and Earth Dust Brush was described as one and a half strands; let me correct that here, it's one strand). Secondly, there's the Qiankun Gourd. Both are supreme innate treasures, and aside from lacking the merit of creation, their ability to suppress destiny is arguably second only to the five treasures for suppressing destiny. (Please don't think I'm making this up to add more magical artifacts for Xuan Tian. The Heaven and Earth Dust Brush has a significant background. If the Jade Disc of Creation is a treasure that governs the Heavenly Dao, and the three supreme innate treasures also have the title of creation treasures, then the Heaven and Earth Dust Brush is the teaching artifact of the Xuan Sect. I will explain this in detail later. Don't think the Heaven and Earth Dust Brush is useless junk, or that it's fake. Of course, it doesn't actually exist, so it's not real, but it has great uses, which I won't elaborate on here.)
Secondly, there is the Qiankun Gourd. Everyone knows that the Qiankun Gourd has basically participated in all the meritorious deeds of Xuan Tian in this life. Moreover, it is a top-level innate spiritual treasure. Its effect of suppressing fortune is only slightly weaker than that of the Heaven and Earth Dust Brush.
Next, we need to examine the Great Dao Laws contained within each of the other magical treasures and their unique functions.
The more Daoist laws a magical treasure possesses, the better its effect in suppressing fortune. For example, the Twelve-Petaled Golden Lotus of the Western Sect, the Azure Lotus in Xuan Tian's hand, the Blood Lotus in Styx's hand, and the Five Banners of Heaven and Earth, among many other magical treasures, can all suppress fortune. The effectiveness depends on the extent and level of Daoist laws manifested within each treasure; generally speaking, it's determined by the number of restrictions imposed by the treasure. (As an aside, if someone could collect a thousand or eight hundred innate spiritual treasures, they could naturally ensure the prosperity of a great sect. Of course, this is a joke. Leaving aside who could possess so many innate spiritual treasures, let's just say who could find them. If someone obtained so many magical treasures and didn't become the target of attacks from other saints, they probably wouldn't need so many treasures to suppress the sect's fortune.)
However, some magical treasures among these possess special functions, such as the "Kongtong Seal." It only has thirty-three layers of restrictions, and in terms of sheer power, the "Kongtong Seal" doesn't even rank among the Ten Great Innate Treasures. However, it has a unique effect: its holder can ascend to the position of Human Emperor. Of course, only sages can achieve this. Others, whose fortune is not comparable to sages, no matter how profound their cultivation or how high their merits, cannot ascend to the position of Human Emperor.
The "Kongtong Seal" itself can gather the fortune of the human race, and its effect of suppressing fortune is comparable to those top-tier innate spiritual treasures, only slightly weaker than the Qiankun Gourd. Xuan Tian obtained more than 10% of the human race's fortune by using this to establish himself as the Human Emperor.
Tongtian possessed the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation. When Hongjun bestowed it upon him, he had not yet established a sect or become a saint, so he naturally did not know its power to suppress fortune. Only after becoming a saint did he discover that the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation could not be used as a treasure to suppress fortune. It wasn't that it couldn't be used, but the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation itself was too murderous and too forceful. It was not weak in suppressing the fortune of major sects, but most major sects' fortunes were too forceful, powerful but unsustainable. Therefore, Tongtian created the Myriad Immortals Formation to replace the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation in suppressing the fortune of the Intercepting Sect.
