The dull pain in my chest did not lessen at all; in fact, it worsened.
When she calmed down and thought about it, she realized that the voice she had just heard was clearly evil. However, the voice seemed to have grown from a seven or eight-year-old to a seventeen or eighteen-year-old, deep and magnetic, having lost its childishness.
Mo Shisheng gently closed her eyes, enduring the pain in her heart, and connected with Xie's spiritual power in her mind, "You have broken through that barrier."
"..."
After a long silence, Mo Shisheng didn't rush him to answer. After a while, Xie's voice slowly rang out: "Yes, I'm focusing on breaking through the obstacles."
His voice was still deep and pleasant, with a hint of familiarity, but compared to his previous naivety, Xie had become somewhat indifferent.
Mo Shisheng smiled slightly, "Congratulations."
“Sheng Sheng”.
"Um"
"Hold your breath and concentrate."
As Xie spoke, Mo Shisheng did as he was told. After focusing her mind, a faint figure appeared in her mind.
Xie was dressed in a white robe, with an incomparably handsome face and an ethereal aura.
Those eyes were a clear, deep blue, as clear and beautiful as the heart of the ocean.
Mo Shisheng smiled faintly, "The day when you have a physical form is not far off."
"..."
Xie paused for a moment, then slowly raised his head. A few strands of his dark hair brushed against his chest as he moved. "That poison had a severe aftereffect. You may only be able to expel it from your body by vomiting blood for the next few days."
"Thank you."
Mo Shisheng thanked her softly, "If it weren't for you, I might not have woken up."
Something seemed to be subtly changing between the two. They had been so intimate before, but suddenly became somewhat distant because of Xie's change.
Mo Shisheng asked, "Have you regained your memories?"
Xie shook his head. "Not yet."
"You should rest first. You used a lot of your cultivation to help me detoxify."
After finishing, Mo Shisheng severed the mental link with Tong Xie.
In fact, she had always known that Xie's identity was not simple. Xie was only staying in her body now because he didn't have a host to parasitize. Once Xie had his own body, they would no longer have any relationship.
She struggled to sit up from the bed, enduring the dull pain in her chest, and took a deep breath, spitting out another mouthful of blood.
Hearing the noise, Shangguan Xuan immediately lifted the curtain and came in. He saw Mo Shisheng's slender body sitting on the couch, her waist bent over, as if she was in pain and trembling slightly.
Shangguan Xuan walked to the bedside and sat down. He raised his hand and took her hand; it was ice-cold. His gaze darkened slightly, and he took the blanket from the side and wrapped her in it.
"Why did you sit up?"
"It's uncomfortable to lie down."
Mo Shisheng casually wiped the bloodstains from her lips, noticing the crimson stain on her fingertips. She chuckled softly, a cold light spreading across her eyes. "That person is still alive."
"I didn't touch him. I'll leave him for you to interrogate yourself," Shangguan Xuan replied, knowing that she was the one who poisoned her.
"Keep a close eye on him, I'm afraid he'll die suddenly before I can even interrogate him."
Mo Shisheng spoke softly, took the blanket off herself, and tried to stand up, but she couldn't muster any strength and fell heavily back onto the bed. Shangguan Xuan reached out and supported her waist.
"You are not in a good position to get out of bed right now."
Shangguan Xuan pursed his lips, his expression extremely displeased. "I will keep an eye on that person and won't let him die so soon. Once you recover, I will hand him over to you."
