"What's wrong?"
Seeing Lingxue staring at her blankly, Bei Rao couldn't help but find it amusing. She reached out and gently touched Lingxue's slightly chubby face. "Xue'er, is there something you want to tell me?"
No.
Lingxue raised her hand and gently took Bei Rao's hand in her own, noticing how terribly cold it was. A pang of heartache shot through her. "Auntie is so beautiful. I'm mesmerized every time I look at her."
"You're so sweet-talking."
Bei Rao was amused by Ling Xue's childlike praise. Her eyes and brows were softened by a gentle smile, and she seemed to be enveloped in a soft, gentle light, making her incredibly beautiful.
"Aunt, there's been no news from Prince Yin these past few days. Are you very worried?"
Lingxue thought of Beiyin. It had been almost three years since that guy disappeared, and the people sent out by the Divine Realm to search for him had not brought back any news.
"He'll be alright."
Bei Rao just smiled gently, "Xue'er, help me up and let's go for a walk outside. Sitting or lying down all the time is making my bones feel weak."
"But it snowed last night."
Lingxue frowned slightly, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes. "It's very cold, and Aunt is so frail. What if she catches a cold?"
"It's alright, I'll just wear more clothes."
Bei Rao's gaze gently fell on Ling Xue. "Good girl, help me up."
"All right……"
Although she was worried about Bei Rao's health, Ling Xue couldn't refuse Bei Rao's request. Since she had the energy to go out for a walk, she decided to take it as a way to relax.
Thinking this, Lingxue carefully helped Beirao put on her shoes and then helped her walk behind the screen. Just as she was about to help her change her clothes, Beirao reached out and gently pressed Lingxue down, saying, "I'll change my clothes myself. Xue'er, go wait outside for a bit."
"aunt?"
Lingxue found it strange and didn't understand why Bei Rao was so persistent about these things.
Despite her worries, Lingxue retreated and stood guard not far from the screen.
While Bei Rao was changing her clothes, Ling Xue's gaze gently fell on Bei Rao's large bed, landing on the pillow. She suddenly remembered the things Mo Shisheng had told her.
Looking behind the screen, she could vaguely see a figure moving around. Bei Rao was too weak to change her clothes quickly, so Ling Xue had an idea and took out a strand of hair from her sleeve.
She walked quickly to the bedside, put the strands of hair that Mo Shisheng had given her into the pillow, patted them neatly, and was about to get up when she heard a noise behind her.
She then tidied the quilt again, folded it neatly, and straightened up, just in time to meet Bei Rao's gaze. Bei Rao looked at her gently, and Ling Xue smiled, ran to Bei Rao's side, and affectionately took her arm, "Auntie, this outfit looks really good on you."
"What would I wear not look good on you?"
Bei Rao smiled helplessly. She was only wearing a beige long dress with a thick fur cloak wrapped around her, covering herself up completely so that not a single cold breeze could get in.
"My aunt is beautiful; she looks good in anything!"
Lingxue raised her eyebrows smugly, seemingly incredibly proud, "Auntie, do you like snow too?"
“It’s what Beiya likes.”
Bei Rao gently curved her lips into a faint smile, "She used to stay in the snow whenever it snowed, and wouldn't leave until the heavy snow stopped."
"Isn't she afraid of catching a cold?" Lingxue blinked, thinking of Mo Shisheng, whose body seemed somewhat weak.
