When Bei Rao saw Shangguan Yue's grand manner as she was carried in on a palanquin, her brows furrowed slightly.
"Does Mother disapprove of her daughter's behavior?"
Bei Rao's frown was too obvious, and Shangguan Yue's gaze had been fixed on her the whole time, so it was impossible for her not to notice. Now, Shangguan Yue was no longer afraid of Bei Rao's status, and had no more scruples.
Upon hearing this, Bei Rao remained silent, her gaze lingering on Shangguan Yue, showing no intention of speaking.
Shangguan Yue probably didn't expect Bei Rao to be able to remain calm at this point, as she couldn't stand seeing others with such a composed demeanor.

Bei Rao smiled faintly, her beautiful face becoming even more captivating with the curve of her smile.
Upon hearing Bei Rao's words, Shangguan Yue's eyes turned icy and terrifying. "I only call you 'mother' because you can give me the status of a goddess. Do you really think I respect you?"
"No."
Bei Rao lowered her eyes gently and pulled the blanket up a little higher with both hands to shield herself from the cold wind.
When Shangguan Yue came in, the door was not closed at all, and the cold wind blowing in from outside made Bei Rao's face turn slightly pale.
One of the maids closest to the door couldn't bear to watch any longer, so she cautiously walked to the door and closed it.

The maidservant's mouth slid out of her mouth after being slapped, and her knees buckled as she knelt on the ground. "Goddess, you have wronged me! I served you wholeheartedly and wanted to stay by your side..."
"Stay by my side?"
Shangguan Yue sneered, suddenly grabbing the maid's neck with one hand, forcing her to look up at her. "Don't think I don't know what you're thinking. Do you think I'm that easy to fool?"
"Uh...uh..."
Shangguan Yue's strength was immense, and the maidservant ultimately remained silent.
Bei Rao watched the scene unfold before her. The maid was being choked by Shangguan Yue, her breathing becoming increasingly labored, her face flushed crimson.
