Chapter 73 Did I hook you?

"It seems you are the destined person I have been waiting for."

The silver-haired old man could see everything Mo Shisheng saw. There seemed to be surprise in his eyes, but he was not surprised. "I felt from the first time I saw you that you are not a simple girl."

"The old gentleman can read faces?"

Upon hearing this, Mo Shisheng raised an eyebrow slightly, "It's a pity I didn't reveal my face. The old gentleman is quite formidable."

How could the silver-haired old man not hear the sarcasm in Mo Shisheng's words? He blew on his mustache and said, "You little girl, your words are not pleasant to hear at all!"

"If I'm not mistaken, that trap was set up for me?"

Mo Shisheng's gaze gently fell on the silver-haired old man. "Who exactly are you?"

"Haha, what a clever girl."

The silver-haired old man smiled and said, "You can call me by my given name, Bai Hehan."

Mo Shisheng nodded slightly. She could tell he wasn't an ordinary person, and he harbored doubts about what had just happened. With a look of confusion in her eyes, Mo Shisheng asked, "Mr. Bai, could you tell me what happened just now?"

"That proves you are my destined one. I made two masks, and this one is for you."

Bai Hehan walked to the other end of the table, reached under it and rummaged around for a while, then pulled out a drawer, took out the silver mask and handed it to Mo Shisheng.

Taking the mask from his hand, Mo Shisheng gently touched the surface of the mask with her slender fingers. The texture was excellent, cool and smooth, with rounded edges.

Remembering that Bai Hehan had just worn two masks, Mo Shisheng asked softly, "Where is Mr. Bai's other mask?"

"It was given to another destined person."

Bai Hehan chuckled softly, a glint in his eyes that Mo Shisheng couldn't decipher.

Mo Shisheng nodded, asked no further questions, gripped the mask tightly in her hand, and said to Bai Hehan, "Then I thank you."

"Well, you've been out for quite a while now, it's time to go back." Bai Hehan nodded. "I won't see you off, you can go back the way you came."

"good."

Mo Shisheng nodded, gripped the mask tightly in his hand, turned and walked out of the wooden house, calling Jiang Yao to come along as they left together.

After Mo Shisheng and Jiang Yao left, Bai Hehan raised his hand and pushed open another door behind the wooden house.

Behind the gate is a hidden cave, quite different from the front gate. What comes into view is a high mountain with a waterfall flowing down from it, which is exceptionally refreshing.

A tall, slender figure stood before the waterfall, dressed in a long black robe, his dark hair loosely tied back with a single jade hairpin, giving him a languid air.

"Your Highness, it has just been confirmed that she can indeed see the phoenix rising from the ashes."

With a wave of his hand, Bai Hehan's aged face transformed into a strikingly handsome, almost demonic one. He sported silver hair, captivating phoenix eyes with slightly upturned corners, and strode to Ming Beiya's side. "Your Highness, what are your thoughts on this outcome?"

"Um."

Ming Beiya responded indifferently; this outcome was within his expectations. Did you need to say anything more?

"..."

Bai Hehan's lips twitched slightly. "At least give me some face and say something to praise me. Is this the girl you've taken a fancy to? Just look at her captivating peach blossom eyes."

"Did I catch your eye?"

Upon hearing Bai Hehan mention Mo Shisheng, Ming Beiya slowly turned her stunningly beautiful face and glanced at him.

"..."

Even though it was almost summer, for some reason, Bai Hehan suddenly felt the temperature around him drop a few degrees, and he shivered abruptly.
