Because Ling Qi always acted on a whim; today she suddenly felt like making him tea, next time she might cook for him. Ming Beiya didn't stop her, but the strange feeling in his heart grew stronger. He could sense that something was about to happen, but he couldn't find any flaws in Ling Qi's demeanor.
When Ling Qi returned after brewing the tea, she carefully concealed the excitement in her eyes.
Even if a hint of excitement slipped out from her eyes, Ming Beiya simply assumed it was because she was excited about making tea for the first time.
When Ling Qi handed the teacup to Ming Beiya, he smelled a delicate fragrance that he had never smelled before.
His brow furrowed slightly as his gaze fell on Ling Qi. "What kind of tea is this?"
"I don't know either. I just brewed it for fun when I was bored, and I found that this cup of tea tastes pretty good, so I wanted to brew it for you."
When Ling Qi said this, one of her hands was clenched into a fist inside her sleeve. If you asked her to open her palm at that moment, you would see that her palm was covered in sweat.
Ming Beiya didn't ask any more questions, but instead put the tea aside, saying, "It's a little hot."
"..."
Seeing this, Ling Qi became even more anxious, fearing that Ming Beiya would not drink. She couldn't hide her emotions well and Ming Beiya saw them clearly.
"Don't worry, I'll drink what you make."
Ming Beiya noticed the anxiety in Ling Qi's eyes and assumed she was worried that he wouldn't be able to drink it, so he spoke up to comfort her.
"You said it."
With Ming Beiya's assurance, Ling Qi finally felt relieved, breathed a sigh of relief, and turned to lie back on the bed.
The two stopped talking. Ling Qi's mind was focused on the cup of tea. She was worried that there wasn't enough tea, so she put all the tea that Bei Chen had given her into it.
The tea was ordinary tea, but it had a medicinal flavor, so when Ming Beiya smelled it, Ling Qi's palms sweated with nervousness.
Finally, just as Ming Beiya was about to leave, he suddenly caught sight of that cup of tea.
As he reached for the tea, he gently blew on it before taking a sip, then suddenly looked up at Ling Qi.
He discovered that Ling Qi was staring intently at him, and Ming Beiya's strange feeling intensified. He carefully examined the tea in the cup but did not notice anything unusual.
Seeing this, Ling Qi lowered her eyes and looked away, muttering, "I just wanted to see if you would dislike the tea I made for you and secretly pour it away."
"..."
Upon hearing this, Ming Beiya's doubts were largely dispelled. He finished the tea in his cup in one gulp, leaving only a few tea leaves at the bottom.
Seeing that Ming Beiya had finally finished drinking it all, Ling Qi felt a huge weight lifted from her heart.
As Ming Beiya got up to leave, Ling Qi quickly put on her shoes and followed behind him.
The man abruptly stopped, turned around to look at Ling Qi who was following behind him, and frowned slightly. "What are you doing following me?"
"I just want to spend this day with you, is that not allowed?"
Ling Qi tilted her head slightly, and under the strong light, her face appeared even paler, devoid of any color.
Ming Beiya said in a calm tone, "I have to go and take care of things in the Demon Realm. You don't need to come with me. I'll come find you when I'm done."
"But you haven't spent time with me in so long..."
Ling Qi's voice softened, carrying a hint of pitifulness.
