Give flowers to your beloved

"Buy flowers?" Rong Hua was stunned. He glanced at Su Yin and smiled slowly, saying, "We're not buying any."

Hearing Rong Hua's obvious refusal, the little boy sighed softly, but still insisted, "But, brother, if you give me flowers today, I will definitely be very happy. You two will definitely be together for a long time."

Rong Hua listened to the boy patiently, then slowly shook his head. Just as he was about to continue to refuse Su Yin, he immediately interrupted him.

"You're so cute, little brother. Don't worry. Did your sister buy these flowers today?"

As soon as Su Yin finished speaking, the little boy and Rong Hua both looked at her, their faces showing a mixture of joy and surprise.

Giving flowers during the Hundred Flowers Festival was not a privilege reserved for men, so the little boy did not take it too seriously and took the initiative to push the basket forward to Su Yin. Su Yin shrugged indifferently, hugged the two river lanterns tightly in his arms, and leaned over to take out a white rose from the little boy's bamboo basket.

“This flower is really beautiful.”

Su Yin took the initiative to praise, and put the rose under her nose and sniffed it gently, "The fragrance of this flower makes people feel much better just by smelling it, don't you think, Ronghua?"

In response to Su Yin's question, Rong Hua just smiled faintly and could not deny it.

"So good, little brother." Su Yin gently touched the child's head, but in his heart he was thinking that there are always such hard-working people in every era. If they can do this, why can't he hold on?

Thinking of this, Su Yin raised his head and winked at Rong Hua.

Rong Hua nodded slightly, took out a few ounces of silver from his bosom and gave it to the little boy. Like Su Yin, he also took the initiative to touch his head.

"Go play."

The little boy looked down and saw that the silver Rong Hua gave him was obviously more than the price of the roses, and he obviously didn't ask for change. Although the boy was young, he knew that this was Rong Hua and Su Yin deliberately taking care of their business. The little boy's face changed, and a nameless liquid flowed from his eyes. "Thank you, brother and sister."

The little boy thanked Su Yin and Rong Hua, looked at them with tears in his eyes before leaving, and said loudly, "Brothers and sisters, you are all good people. I wish you happiness forever!" After that, he stood there waiting for them to leave.

As soon as the little boy finished speaking, Rong Hua and Su Yin were both speechless.

"Let's go." Su Yin winked at Rong Hua, Rong Hua nodded slightly, and the two of them walked past the boy and forward.

"Here." With her back to the boy, Su Yin handed a handful of flowers to Rong Hua.

Rong Hua raised his eyebrows slightly, and asked with a hint of surprise, "For me?"

"Of course." Su Yin nodded lightly and shrugged, "After all, you bought it."

Rong Hua gently took the flowers from Su Yin's hand and, imitating Su Yin's previous practice, placed the flowers under his nose and sniffed them gently. He said slowly, "Then do you know what the meaning of giving flowers during the Hundred Flowers Festival is?"

"I don't know," Su Yin replied casually, but she wasn't curious. It was just some kind of promise of love, like sending flowers would ensure they'd be together forever. It had been like that for thousands of years, like sending flowers was the only way to ensure something would happen. It was just a formality, wasn't it? Why bother with so much?

"It has nothing to do with me anyway." Su Yin shrugged, looking indifferent.
