Chapter 1: First Encounter with the Storm

Chapter 1: First Encounter with the Storm

You Xiaohun suddenly opened her eyes, checked her limbs, and was relieved to find that everything was intact, which made her feel relieved.

She looked around and saw lush trees, the night was falling, and the stars were twinkling. The full moon in her memory had turned into a crescent moon, quietly hanging between the clouds, looking particularly mysterious.

The surrounding scenery made You Xiaohun feel very strange.

The trees are lush, far beyond common sense, as if every inch of land is full of vitality, but also has a bit of unnatural weirdness.

The most urgent thing is to leave this strange place as soon as possible.

You Xiaohun took out the compass he carried with him and tried to determine the direction. However, the compass needle sometimes spun wildly and sometimes pointed in a certain direction.

This situation made her wonder if she was trapped in a "ghost wall".

You Xiaohun quickly lit a barrier-breaking talisman.

"The heavens and the earth are boundless, and all things are unobstructed. Following the order of the ancestor, I bow and pray! Break the obstacles here. Hurry and obey the command."

However, as the talisman paper turned to ashes, nothing changed in the surroundings, and there was still deathly silence.

"Haha, it's true that things change, and you also have to fall. You really deserve it!" The laughter coming from You Xiaohun was a bit teasing.

Only then did she remember that the tree spirit Zirong, whom she had sealed, was still hanging on her body.

You Xiaohun held the coffin that sealed it in his hand.

She gently lifted the small coffin, only to hear an unwilling humming sound from within: "Let me go! As long as you let me out, I will agree to anything you ask!"

A sly smile appeared on You Xiaohun's lips. "Sure! Your name is Zirong, right? But first, you have to answer a few questions for me."

Zirong's voice revealed a hint of hesitation: "What do you want to know?"

"First, what exactly is this place? Second, what does that old guy, your master, want to do?"

Zi Rong was silent for a moment before saying, "This isn't the time and space we were in before. The spiritual energy here is incredibly rich, completely different from the world we're familiar with. Perhaps this is the fulfillment of what Master said about our destined calamity. If we don't complete our mission, he probably won't let us go back."

You Xiaohun keenly caught the key words: "Mission? What mission?"

Zirong sighed, a hint of helplessness in his tone. "I'm not entirely clear on the specific details. I only remember Master vaguely mentioning that another time and space was about to encounter a catastrophe and that someone was needed to help. But he didn't elaborate on the specifics."

You Xiaohun understood. No matter what, they were now tied to the same rope and could only take one step at a time.

"Okay, I've told you everything I know. Can you let me out?" Zirong said anxiously.

You Xiaohun smiled and nodded: "Of course! The sun and the moon rotate, guided by the stars. The mind and spirit merge, returning to the origin. Tongsheng Mantra·Modified!"

She pinched her fingers, tore the talisman paper on the small coffin, and loosened the red rope.

As the spell ended, Zi Rong felt the restraints on his body loosen, and he suddenly jumped out of the coffin, his eyes full of wonder: "What kind of co-existence spell is this?"

You Xiaohun explained leisurely, "The Tongsheng Curse, as the name suggests, means living and dying together. I just modified it a little bit. If I die, you can't live either, but if you die, I'll be fine. I want you to be at my service, so let's work together to leave this damn place!"

"You can still do this!? You are shameless!" Zi Rong wailed.

"Since we are here, just make the best of it! I won't do anything to you. After all, we are all tied to the same boat now." You Xiaohun comforted it compassionately.

Although Zirong was unwilling, he knew that the overall situation was set and had to reluctantly accept the reality.

At this moment, a deafening roar suddenly came from not far away, like thunder in the sky, instantly breaking the surrounding tranquility.

You Xiaohun and Zirong looked in the direction of the sound at the same time. Zirong suddenly stretched out his body, instantly turned into a ball of smoke, and slipped into You Xiaohun's sleeve with incredible speed.

Immediately afterwards, a powerful tornado came carrying trees and dust, like a furious beast.

"Hey!!! Be careful!!!" You Xiaohun was stunned when he was suddenly swept into an embrace by a strong wind.

She looked up in astonishment. The boy's face appeared even more three-dimensional in the moonlight, his silver hair contrasting sharply with the scars on his face. His eyes revealed a calmness and determination beyond his years.

You Xiaohun reacted suddenly and looked over the shoulder of the silver-haired boy. It was an evil ghost with a hideous face and bared fangs and claws.

The young man was completely unaware and still had his back to the terrifying evil spirit, but it was almost too late.

You Xiaohun's wrist trembled slightly.

"The fire virtue of heaven and earth can burn all things. I obey the order of the ancestors and pray for you! Attack with fire here. Hurry up and follow the command." His mind moved, and in a moment, ten fire attack talismans shining with golden light shot out like arrows.

These talismans moved in the air without any wind, spinning rapidly around the evil spirit and sticking precisely to its body. As the talismans attached themselves, the evil spirit roared as if burned, the sound gradually weakening until it finally turned into a wisp of black smoke and dissipated in the night sky.

"How did you...?" The young man looked at You Xiaohun in surprise and was about to speak.

"Now is not the time to talk. There is still the scent of ghosts. We are surrounded." You Xiaohun interrupted him with a pale face.

The young man let go of You Xiaohun and drew his knife: "Humph, such trash, I'll kill as many as I can!"

"Breath of Wind, Form Two, Claws, Kehu Wind!" The young man swung out several wind blade sword energies with his green blade.

As the sharp wind blades whistled out, the evil spirits around seemed to be isolated by an invisible barrier, unable to advance an inch.

Although You Xiaohun had never seen the forms of these ghosts before, which made her feel cold, but when she saw that the talisman was effective, You Xiaohun regained her composure. Several fire attack talismans containing scorching power cut through the air and turned into gorgeous fire snakes, swooping down in all directions.

Only then did You Xiaohun realize that the talisman in her hand actually contained such astonishing power! But at this critical moment, she had no time to think about it and threw the talisman out like it was free.

Although these evil ghosts were not very powerful, their large numbers made You Xiaohun gradually lose his composure and his movements became slower.

Seeing this, the young man became even more anxious. He roared, "Have we disturbed the devil's lair? No matter how hard we try, we can't kill them all! Ahhhhh! Breath of the Wind, Form 1, Dust Whirlwind - Slicing!"

As his words fell, a strong storm emanated from his blade, transforming into a sharp whirlwind that instantly cut through the dense ghost shadows around him.

However, just as You Xiaohun was about to pull out the fire attack talisman again, her movements froze - the talisman had been used up. Oh, right, she didn't have many talismans left when that old man threw her into this shabby place.

Just when You Xiaohun was distracted, an evil ghost seized the opportunity and pounced on You Xiaohun.

And she didn't realize that she was slowly approaching the edge of the cliff. Behind her was a dense and hidden bush that concealed the steepness of the cliff.

In the end, she and the evil ghost lost their balance together, and fell into the bottomless cliff together with the boy's anxious cries.

You Xiaohun's mind was blank, only the whistling wind and the boy's shouts intertwined and echoed in her ears.
