Chapter 148 Farewell to a Partner

The next day, early morning.

While Tanjiro was still asleep, Chinatsu had already woken up, or rather, she had never been asleep at all.

Last night's party lasted from 6 p.m. until midnight. During the party, everyone ate, chatted, and even practiced swordsmanship at the end.

Of course, this time a wooden knife was used.

After all, Muzan is dead. If they continue to spar with real swords, they might end up crippling their own people instead of Muzan breaking their arms and legs.

However, it turned out that without using real knives, it was impossible to determine a winner. The wooden knife broke with a "crack!" before it could even be put into place, and the whole night ended in a draw.

Before the sun had even risen, Chinatsu gripped her Nichirin Blade tightly and began to wield her swordsmanship.

"Sun and Moon Flow - Form One - Sun and Moon Shining Together!"

"Sun and Moon Flow - Second Form - Sun and Moon Reborn!"

Although Chika currently only has two self-created sword techniques, she believes that over time, her sword techniques will continue to increase and gradually become more complete.

The Sun and Moon Style is not an upgraded version of "Sun Breathing" and "Moon Breathing," but rather the embodiment of Chika's swordsmanship.

Chinatsu was full of energy, perhaps because she was reminiscing about the time, or perhaps because she drank a lot of Shinobu Kocho's special soup at the end of the party.

Anyway, Chika really didn't drink any alcohol. Actually, for Chika, the legal regulations weren't the most important reason. The main reason was that Chika had a strange premonition.

My alcohol tolerance is... very low!

As for that Kocho Shinobu special soup... well...

Although it looks a bit abstract, the taste is actually surprisingly good, but Shinobu Kocho made way too much thick soup.

As the party drew to a close, everyone was so full that they couldn't drink any more soup. After looking at each other, all eyes turned to Chinatsu.

There's nothing we can do; Mitsuri has already surrendered, so only Chinatsu still has any fighting power left.

Under everyone's gaze, seeing that there was still a large portion of the thick soup left, Chika made up her mind. She grabbed the large bowl with both hands and gulped it down.

"Hiccup~"

In the early morning, the sun slowly rises.

Chika raised her head and looked at the sun that had just risen, slowly stopping her sword dance. In the next few hours, the members of the Demon Slayer Corps would wake up one after another, and after they woke up, they would bid farewell to the Demon Slayer Corps.

"I need to hurry back to my room. Tanjiro will be waking up soon, and I don't want him to find out I haven't slept all night." Chinatsu stretched her arms, indicating that she didn't want Tanjiro to wake up and find out she hadn't slept all night.

At that time, Tanjiro would definitely be worried and tell Chinatsu to go back to her room to catch up on her sleep. At the very least, he would nag her incessantly, just like a mother would.

Although Chika could easily cover the entire mansion with her sensory network, that would be an invasion of personal privacy, so Chika did not do so.

Because Chinatsu didn't do that, he didn't notice that Tanjiro, who was lying on the bed, wasn't asleep either, and was quietly staring at the ceiling of the room.

In fact, this isn't the only person within the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters experiencing similar phenomena...

It was 8:00 AM.

Chinatsu pretended to have just woken up as she walked out of her room. Tanjiro, too, didn't force himself to be energetic and greeted Chinatsu with a smile, "Good morning, sister!"

The huge mansion housed three people, and only Nezuko was asleep. However, when she woke up and saw the two people pretending to be asleep, she keenly noticed their unusual state.

Nezuko blinked, then quickly took small steps to their side. She stood on tiptoe and reached out her hands to pat Chinatsu and Tanjiro's heads, but unfortunately, she wasn't tall enough...

Nezuko paused for a moment, then puffed out her cheeks and tried even harder to stand on her tiptoes. However, upon seeing Nezuko's appearance, Chinatsu and Tanjiro immediately squatted down, letting Nezuko pat her head while Chinatsu closed her eyes.

There's nothing to be sad about. Everyone has reached a perfect ending. Even if they've been separated for years, they will never forget their experience as members of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Afterwards, Chinatsu, Nezuko, and Tanjiro left the mansion and arrived at the entrance of the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters. There, they saw Genya Shinazugawa standing with his luggage on his back. When he saw Chinatsu and the others, he waved his arms happily.

“Xuanmi, what are you doing here…”

"Isn't my brother supposed to be leaving today? I'm here to carry your luggage for you!" Shinazugawa Genya grinned and pointed to the large bag of luggage he was carrying on his back.

As for Shinazugawa Sanemi... speak of the devil and he appears.

Sanemi, carrying the remaining luggage, ran over quickly and then suddenly stopped in front of Chinatsu and the others.

"Chi...Chika? What are you doing here?"

Sanemi blinked blankly. He had originally wanted to leave early so as not to clash with others, and he also found the kind of grand, sentimental farewell troublesome.

Chika's gaze was fixed on Genya and Sanemi in front of her. Although the two had not spoken yet, Chika knew from their distance and the atmosphere they exuded that the two brothers had reconciled.

But that's normal. After all, Chika slept for a year. During the year that everyone was waiting for Chika to wake up, what couldn't they do besides say goodbye to the Demon Slayer Corps?

The conflict between the two brothers stemmed from the fact that the older brother, Sanemi, did not want his younger brother, Genya, to join the Demon Slayer Corps, did not want his brother to be in danger, and wanted him to quietly marry, have children, and live a normal life.

Genya, the younger brother, feels guilty because he mistakenly believed that his older brother killed their mother. He wants to join the Demon Slayer Corps to help his brother and fight alongside him.

Now that Muzan, the source of all evil, is dead, the conflict between the two brothers has naturally disappeared.

As it turns out, the world would be a better place without Muzan.

Just as Shinazugawa Sanemi was racking his brains about how to get to the emotional part, Chinatsu in front of him simply extended a hand, smiled, and said, "Goodbye."

Looking at the outstretched hand, Shinazugawa Sanemi immediately understood Chinatsu's feelings.

Nobody wants to resort to the sentimental stuff!

"Bye now!"

With a resounding "smack!", Sanemi and Genya clapped their hands and walked out of the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters, watched by Chika...

This book is expected to conclude at the end of this month or the beginning of next month. Although I could easily write dozens more chapters if forced to write slice-of-life scenes...
