Chapter 2 The Wheelchair Girl Grows Up

“I…I mean…I want to stand up…”

“Stand... Oh! But sister, are you really sure you can do it? Your injuries are so bad..."

Tanjiro breathed a sigh of relief after learning what Chinatsu meant, but he was still worried about Chinatsu's health, since anyone who saw Chinatsu's injuries would know how serious they were.

Chika shook her head to indicate that she was fine. She didn't actually feel much pain, but she had difficulty moving.

Tanjiro hesitated for a moment before nodding. He carefully put Chinatsu down from his back. Chinatsu's feet touched the ground, but her legs were weak and she almost fell again. Fortunately, Tanjiro and Nezuko each steadied her.

This...this...this...this is so embarrassing.

Qianxia lowered her head, her face slightly flushed. Before this, she really didn't expect that she would have a day when she would be helped by someone. In her previous life, she was an athletic champion who could easily do a somersault on the spot.

"Sister, are you alright?!"

"It's nothing, just that my legs are weak."

After regaining her footing, Chinatsu gasped for breath, struggling to maintain her balance. Tanjiro and Nezuko both assumed that Chinatsu was in pain from her injuries.

But to the doctor in front of him, it was utterly ridiculous. He had already accepted that the girl in front of him was not really injured, but was just playing a prank on him.

"Kids these days, I won't hold it against you this time. Go on, don't bother me." The doctor waved to the three people in front of him, then turned and went back into his house, closing the door behind him.

Tanjiro was about to knock on the door and ask the doctor to treat his sister, but Chinatsu stopped him.

"elder sister?"

"It's okay, I probably won't need a doctor."

Despite the fact that Chinatsu's unsteady appearance made her statement unconvincing, Tanjiro still believed her, for no other reason than that Chinatsu was his older sister.

After saying goodbye to the doctor's residence, Tanjiro still wanted to return to his home in the mountains to collect and bury his mother and brothers. Chinatsu and Nezuko both agreed, but Tanjiro went to another place first.

About ten minutes later, Tanjiro ran out of a woodworking shop, pushing a simple wooden wheelchair with both hands.

"Sister, use this first!"

Tanjiro chuckled. Of course, he wouldn't let his sister walk back like that, so the wheelchair was the idea he came up with.

The wooden wheelchair wasn't cheap, and Tanjiro didn't have much money on him. However, Tanjiro had good relationships with many people in the shops, so the owner of the woodworking shop readily let Tanjiro pay on credit, and he could pay later when he returned from the mountain with the money.

Looking at Tanjiro's smile, Chinatsu lowered her head and couldn't help but sigh inwardly that Tanjiro was just too "kind".

Although there are many "gentlemen" in anime, Tanjiro's gentleness is indeed at a level that stands out among many male protagonists.

Seeing that Chinatsu seemed to be smiling, Tanjiro was even happier. At the same time, he secretly made up his mind that he must protect his older and younger sisters.

Chinatsu sat in her wheelchair, Tanjiro pushed it, and Nezuko followed happily beside her with her eyes half-closed. The three of them slowly returned to the cabin in the mountains.

Upon returning to the cabin and seeing the bodies of his family members, the somber atmosphere enveloped them once again. Tanjiro silently walked back home, carried out his mother, younger brother, and younger sister, dug a pit near the house, and buried them.

Tanjiro clasped his hands together, closed his eyes, and prayed for his family, vowing in his heart to avenge them and find a way to restore Nezuko to a normal human form.

After finishing his prayers, Tanjiro turned back to Chinatsu and Nezuko. He wanted to say "Let's go," but then he suddenly remembered that he hadn't explained what had happened to his sister yet.

Tanjiro then briefly explained to Chinatsu his encounter with Giyu Tomioka and what Giyu Tomioka had told him.

As he spoke, he was also carefully observing the expression on Chika's face, fearing that his sister might not be able to accept it. Although in his impression, Chika was a very tolerant person who was gentle and refined, even the most receptive person could not guarantee their mental state when faced with something like a "ghost".

"That's how it is. Tomioka told me to find an old man named Urokodaki Sakonji. In order to avenge my family, I also need to become stronger."

As Tanjiro spoke, he unconsciously clenched his fist, while Chinatsu in front of him lowered her head. Tanjiro thought that Chinatsu was not feeling well or had developed an aversion to demons. Just as he was about to comfort Chinatsu, she took a deep breath and raised her head.

“Then let’s go. Go find Urokodaki Sakonji. I’ll go study with you.” Chika’s eyes sparkled as she sat in her wheelchair.

Tanjiro was startled. He wanted to settle his sister down and then take Nezuko to find Urokodaki Sakonji. It wasn't that he thought Chinatsu was a burden, but simply that he was concerned about Chinatsu's health.

"Sister, you should rest more. I'll do my best." Tanjiro hurriedly tried to persuade Chinatsu, but Chinatsu wasn't about to just lie in her wheelchair and watch the protagonist grind dungeons and AFK until the end. Although she felt it was too sudden to be sent to this world and was somewhat resentful, since she was here, there was no reason not to do anything.

Chika could still vaguely sense the despair and helplessness the original owner felt when facing Muzan.

He could do nothing, watching helplessly as his mother and brother died before his eyes, and then he himself was ruthlessly slaughtered by Muzan.

Muzan claimed that he was a natural disaster, and being killed by him was like being hit by a torrential rain, a strong wind, an earthquake, a tsunami, or a volcanic eruption. No one would seek revenge against these natural disasters, and he himself was just one of them. Being killed by him was perfectly normal, and those who survived him should be grateful for their lives...

It makes me so angry just thinking about it!!!

Sitting in her wheelchair, Chika was so angry just thinking about it that she wanted to rush up to Muzan and yell, "You're talking nonsense!" and then cut him into pieces.

Chika took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. She knew she needed to stay calm. She couldn't do anything right now. Her priority was to adapt to her body and then train in the Fire God Kagura.

I really look forward to the day I see Muzan again, holding my red Nichirin Blade, head bowed, walking towards him step by step while saying, "What do you take life for?!"

Muzan's expression will definitely be quite interesting.

Thinking of this, a sinister smile appeared on Chika's face, and Tanjiro, who was next to her, blinked blankly at the sight.

What is my sister thinking? Her smile is so creepy...
