Chapter 138 Heading to the Demon Slayer Corps
As the morning sun began to rise, a familiar box was slammed shut on Yan Sheng's head as he turned around.
When Kaigaku saw Zenitsu pull out the box, he immediately realized what was going on and went to find his own suitcase that he had left in the train car.
Fortunately, he made it in time, and the Breath of Thunder came into play at that moment.
Kaigaku shielded himself from the sunlight, stuffed the clothes that were stuck outside back inside, and after making sure there were no problems, he fastened the suitcase, picked it up, and jumped off the train.
Yoriichi and Yuichiro, watching from behind, breathed a sigh of relief; they had truly been frightened. Yuichiro Tokito also calmed down, breathing gently in Yoriichi's arms.
"Brother... are you alright?"
"fine……"
Of course, Iwakatsu couldn't be completely unharmed. The sunlight still shone on him, and the burning sensation made him feel very painful. But in order not to worry Ichiro, he could only try his best to keep his tone calm.
He felt he could now understand the pain the scumbag boss felt when he was chopped down; no wonder he was the biggest nemesis of demons.
Yoriichi asked Kaigaku to hand him the suitcase, but he was still holding his injured body and could only keep staring at the other person, afraid that he would disappear in the blink of an eye.
"Mr. Purgatory! Are you alright?!"
Tanjiro Kamado saw Kyojuro Rengoku struggling to his feet and rushed over to help him up. The man was covered in blood, a shocking sight.
"Don't worry, Kamado boy. As a Pillar, this injury won't kill me."
Kyojuro Rengoku steadied himself, adjusted his breathing, and stopped the bleeding. He could feel several of his ribs were broken. He looked at Tanjiro and Inosuke, relieved that neither of them was injured.
"Hey—are you alright?"
Zenitsu, carrying a wooden box, ran over. He scanned the three of them and was instantly relieved when he found no serious injuries.
"It's alright, thank you for protecting Nezuko."
Tanjiro Kamado smiled slightly; it was so good that everyone was alright. Zenitsu touched his nose, glanced around, and realized there were only three people in front of him.
"Where's Yuichiro?"
He asked a strange question, which stunned the three people opposite him. Because of Upper Moon Three, Tanjiro and Inosuke instinctively cared about Kyojuro, who was taking the hits to protect them.
"Tokito Boy!"
Rengoku Kyojuro watched as the three approached. Yuichiro was being carried by a strange man, looking quite disheveled.
"Thank you so much for remembering me."
Tokito Ichiro said sarcastically, his voice barely audible, which made all three of them lower their heads guiltily.
Ichiro was mainly suffering from excessive blood loss. For the first time, he was grateful that he had learned from Iwakatsu properly, otherwise he would have no way to stop the bleeding from his wound.
He didn't want to move at all, letting Yoriichi hold him; he could only manage to stop the bleeding temporarily.
Seeing that Ichiro had closed his eyes, Inosuke leaned closer to check and confirmed that he was still breathing. Tanjiro looked up and blinked at Yoriichi Tsugikuni.
"Mr. Yoriichi? What are you doing here?"
"I happened to be in the car."
Tsugukōgen answered expressionlessly, his gaze darting out of the corner of his eye to Kaigaku, who was pushing Zenitsu away from getting close. After confirming that Ichirō was alright, Zenitsu turned his attention to Kaigaku.
He hadn't seen Kaigaku since he was reprimanded by him in the Demon Slayer Corps until they met again at the train ticket check.
"Big brother, thank you for helping us..."
Kaigaku glared at Zenitsu and said coldly, "I'm not helping you, it's just my duty as a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. Also, don't call me 'big brother'! Can't you understand human language?"
Zenitsu immediately shut up, already used to Kaigaku's scolding.
"Haha, your interactions are really interesting."
Rengoku Kyojuro watched and couldn't help but laugh. He fixed his gaze on Yoriichi Tsugikuni, sensing the aura of a strong person emanating from him.
"Lord Purgatory."
The Hidden members who rushed to the scene began to clean up the mess. Several of them stepped forward, wanting to take Ichiro from Yoriichi's arms, but he took a step back.
The atmosphere suddenly became awkward.
"Ah, Mr. Yoriichi."
Tanjiro was being supported by the members of the Hidden Sect and didn't know what to say for a moment. Yuichiro needed treatment for his injuries.
"Gah—Mr. Tsugikuni, the lord invites you both to the Demon Slayer Corps."
Kyojuro Rengoku's Kasugai Crow circled a few times, then landed on his shoulder and spoke, which relieved the members of the Hidden Sect.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni didn't move, his gaze fixed on the suitcase in Kaigaku's hand. Everyone present knew what was in that suitcase; Tanjiro, upon seeing Yoriichi, was reminded of the demon who looked exactly like him.
It tastes like that bastard in the box.
He felt like he had discovered something. He secretly glanced at Kaigaku and felt that the other party had no reason to steal someone else's family.
"I'm going to Momoyama, so I won't be going back to the Demon Slayer Corps."
Kaigaku's words drew everyone's attention to him. This wasn't exactly standard procedure, but since Kyojuro was primarily in charge of this mission, he could have chosen not to participate in the report.
Of course, compared to the others, Yoriichi Tsugikuni's complexion was noticeably worse. Inside the box, Iwakatsu was also surprised that Kaigaku would remember to go to Momoyama with him at a time like this.
I thought he would run away because of this.
"Big brother—".
Zenitsu looked at Kaigaku, who glared at him and then fell silent. Kyojuro stepped forward and patted Kaigaku on the shoulder; he had just recognized him, after all, there were very few swordsmen in the Demon Slayer Corps who knew Raikou.
"Let's go back to the Demon Slayer Corps first. After all, we're not allowed to take demons to the trainers, and the lord's orders are absolute."
His voice remained the same as always, but the oppressive aura he exuded made Kaigaku grip the handle of his suitcase tightly. Looking at Rengoku Kyojuro's unquestionable smile, he remained silent.
"Then... go."
Yan Sheng was fully aware of what was happening outside. The two of them—referring to himself and Yoriichi—had been invited for the second time. He decided to go and see what was going on.
"Speak!!"
Zenitsu Agatsuma was startled. He thought the other person was like Nezuko, but the sudden child's voice made him take two steps back.
Kaigaku looked at Zenitsu with the eyes of someone looking at an idiot. He thought that the one before might be Zenitsu's second personality, or that the personality that had the talent was the one who was the one who had it.
“Brother, your going will only cause trouble.”
Yoriichi Tsugikuni hesitated before speaking, saying that he had heard Tamayo say that Muzan Kibutsuji's control over demons was absolute, including his thoughts, perspective, and position.
"..."
What do you mean? Do you think I'm a nuisance?
Yan Sheng felt insulted. His reaction was based on his understanding of the scumbag boss; the other party basically didn't care what he did or what he did. (Mainly because he found Yan Sheng to be generally boring.)
So it's not a problem for him to cut off his duties for a period of time, provided that he leaves the Demon Slayer Corps before Upper Moon Six gets into trouble and before Gyutaro and Mei get into trouble.
"Um, everyone, let's go..."
The members of the Hidden Clan felt helpless towards the swordsmen they were tasked with, as if they were impervious to pain. "Aren't you all injured? Couldn't you go back and get treated first?"
"Oh! I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry."
Tanjiro Kamado hurriedly apologized, and Yuichiro Tokito was quickly sent for treatment with the help of several members.
