Chapter 181 Battle against Akaza 2
"What?"
Akaza's fist was inches away, but Tanjiro reacted with lightning speed, leaping backward to dodge the powerful downward punch. The fist slammed into the ground, the force of which shattered the surface like leaf patterns.
"Destruction Kill - Shattering Style - Myriad Leaf Flash Willow".
Tanjiro swiftly leaped a few meters to a stop on the ground, his face grim as he stared intently at Akaza's movements. It was too fast; in an instant, Akaza would appear before him. Tanjiro's pupils contracted sharply in shock.
"Breath of Flame, First Form: Shiranui".
As Kyojuro moved, the crimson flames swiftly severed Akaza's kick aimed at Tanjiro, deflecting the accompanying wind blades. Tanjiro, who had fallen to the ground, jerked to his feet. He watched as Akaza repeatedly struck at the Nichirin Blade that Kyojuro was using to block his path, the two figures locked in a struggle.
Tanjiro noticed that Kyojuro's hand holding the sword was trembling slightly. He forced himself to calm down; he needed to think. His eyes followed Akaza's movements. The moment Akaza raised his leg, Tanjiro suddenly pushed off, raising his Nichirin Blade above his head.
Akaza, who was chasing after Kyojuro, sensed an undeniable aura. He turned around abruptly and saw Tanjiro's blade and the golden flames on it.
"Hinokami Kagura: Hirin Kagerou".
The flames grazed Akaza's neck, and blood gushed from the shallow wound. Akaza subconsciously touched it, and the wet touch excited him even more.
"Haha, what an interesting move! The blade seemed to extend as you accurately dodged it."
Kyojuro gripped his trembling right wrist tightly with his left hand, took a deep breath as Akaza shifted his target, and charged forward with his sword in hand.
A red flame streaked across the sky as Tanjiro watched Akaza dodge Kyojuro's attack, leap up, and swing his sword down. Just as the blade was about half a fist's distance from Akaza's forehead, it was caught by a pair of pale, pierced hands, which held him tightly, rendering him unable to move.
Akaza's smile appeared particularly sinister in the night. He began to press down with his palm, causing Tanjiro's Nichirin Blade to vibrate and hum. Tanjiro's heart tightened at the sight; no matter how hard he tried, the blade couldn't break free, and it would snap if he continued.
"The Kitchen Boy!"
Kyojuro's voice carried a hint of urgency. He knew the limits of his strength, and his eyes hardened instantly. He pushed off the ground with both feet and shot towards Akaza like an arrow.
Tanjiro also slammed his forehead into Akaza's head, the impact creating a loud thud. Akaza smirked, dodging the blade that swung down from behind, his hand still firmly gripping Tanjiro's sword.
Just as Tanjiro thought the sword was about to break, the blade, splattering with waves, deftly grazed Akaza's wrist, causing him to fall heavily to the ground.
"Mr. Righteousness!"
Tanjiro watched as Giyu and Kyojuro exchanged a glance, then launched a coordinated attack on Akaza, their movements perfectly synchronized. Water and flames clashed as Tanjiro watched Akaza flawlessly dodge their attacks, his mind racing with thoughts.
Fighting spirit
The word flashed through Tanjiro's mind, and he couldn't help but ponder it. He had heard Akaza mention it before.
Being stared at with murderous intent can feel like a stinging sensation.
A conversation with Inosuke suddenly occurred. A keen sense can quickly detect things that are not visible to the naked eye. In contrast to murderous intent, it is not easy to detect someone who has no aura. He suppressed all his emotions and hid his strong aura.
Tanjiro suddenly remembered his deceased father.
He was like a plant, calm and composed without any emotional fluctuations, even when he was seriously ill. The Kagura dance, passed down through generations of the Kamado family, is held at the beginning of each year, and is performed from sunset until dawn.
In Tanjiro's memory, even when his father was seriously ill, he was still able to perform all twelve dance forms smoothly, and he would not get tired even if he repeated them hundreds or thousands of times.
Too many unnecessary movements will exacerbate physical fatigue. Proper breathing and movement allow you to exert maximum power with minimal effort. As your mind gradually becomes clearer, remember to absorb information, then discard unnecessary parts, completing the process in an instant.
Tanjiro's father was a man who could wield an axe and cut down a nine-foot-tall bear when he was seriously ill. He did this to demonstrate to Tanjiro himself, and Tanjiro realized that he had dodged that unavoidable blow.
By shutting down all other senses and leaving only the essential ones, one can see a clear world in the instant of physical action.
Giyu wielded his Nichirin Blade, his wounds gradually multiplying. Together with Kyojuro, they could only manage to scratch their opponent. No matter the angle, no matter how precise the attack, it would be instantly dodged by their opponent. Giyu leaped up to dodge Akaza's fist, then spun around, aiming a slash at Akaza's abdomen. Out of the corner of his eye, he glanced to the side, his pupils contracting sharply.
Oh no!
Kyojuro, who was supposed to cooperate with Giyu, moved, but his upward swing of the sword seemed to jam, and blood flowed from Kyojuro's sleeve. Only then did Giyu notice that Kyojuro's right hand was trembling slightly, and the white lining of his sleeve was stained red with blood.
In that moment of hesitation, Giyuu's blade was snapped in two from the side, and as he fell, the broken blade hit the ground with a crisp sound. Akaza didn't hesitate to throw a punch, and blood spread from Giyuu's abdomen. Giyuu crashed to the ground, followed by Akaza's neatly severed hand.
"This is?!"
The two turned their heads and saw Tanjiro, whose aura was completely different. Golden flames surrounded him, forming a dazzling ring of fire. He wielded his Nichirin Blade, spinning around Akaza at an astonishing speed, each strike carrying scorching flames and a sharp gust of wind.
Akaza swayed slightly, dodging Tanjiro's attack. The air was filled with a pungent smell of burning—the heat from the friction between the flames and the air, and the smell of Akaza's clothes being burned.
"Spell Unfolds - Final Move - Azure Silver Chaotic Remnant Light"
Akaza leaped into the air, launching hundreds of missiles in all directions from his own center. These missiles, like a dense rain of bullets, moved with astonishing speed, piercing the night sky with sharp whistling sounds, heading straight for the three.
"Water Breathing - Eleventh Form - Nagi".
Seeing this, Giyu immediately unleashed his attack, but even Nagi could not completely evade it. The fierce attack struck his body, and barely dodging the fatal wound still caused his body to feel a huge impact. Blood seeped from his skin, and he was unable to move as if his bones had been shattered.
Because of the distance, Kyojuro barely avoided the body's organs, allowing most of the attacks to land on his back, causing him to be thrown against the wall and vomit blood continuously.
Akaza stopped what he was doing, looked at Giyuu's weak and feeble appearance and smiled, sincerely inviting him, "It's amazing that you're still alive. You should become a demon too, Giyuu, so you won't have to worry about dying."
Giyuu was unable to move. He looked at Kyojuro, who was motionless and seemed to have fainted. He didn't speak, but looked at Tanjiro standing behind Akaza.
Didn't find anything? Why? There's no sign of life...
Sweat trickled down his forehead, and he coughed involuntarily with the slightest movement, blood flowing continuously. Tanjiro raised his head, gripping his Nichirin Blade tightly, and roared at Akaza, "Akaza, I'm going to cut your neck!"
Why are we calling him?
Giyu frowned, watching nervously. In his blurry vision, Akaza suddenly turned and threw a punch, which Tanjiro nimbly dodged. Akaza stared at Tanjiro in surprise; he couldn't sense any fighting spirit from the other, as if he were facing a plant.
Just as Akaza gritted his teeth, preparing to throw another punch, Tanjiro's figure vanished before his eyes, and golden-red flames, along with the leaping blade, severed his neck.
