Chapter 35 Rescue Mission
"Alright, Ms. Tamayo. I won't reveal your whereabouts."
Iwakatsu stood up, looked at Tamayo with all six eyes, and said seriously, word by word.
"But at the same time, I am also in a cooperative relationship with Muzan."
Kokushi didn't want to get too involved; for him, the plot was the most important thing right now. So, even though he could guess that Tamayo wanted to cooperate with him, he made his stance clear beforehand.
Yan Sheng turned around, opened the door, and left the private room. He still wanted to see that flower.
Tamayo knelt and slowly finished the cup of tea. She could taste a little of it, probably because she had been feeding on blood for a long time after her modification.
"It tastes very good, just like Mr. Yoriichi said."
Tamayo was quite disappointed; it seemed that Mr. Iwakatsu didn't want to cooperate with them. But overall, the impression Iwakatsu conveyed to her was that he chose neutrality, which was much better than being completely on Muzan Kibutsuji's side.
Tamayo stood up. She knew that Iwakatsu, or rather Muzan Kibutsuji, had come for the legendary blue spider lily. She was certain that it wasn't the blue spider lily.
Indeed, that's not it.
Iwakatsu, now in his new mimicry form, stared at the blue rose within the glass frame, wondering if his boss was acting a bit odd. Was it the store's advertising that was problematic, or was there something wrong with the information?
Iwakatsu immediately contacted Kibutsuji Muzan. Looking at the blue roses in the display case, Iwakatsu fell into deep thought, wondering how best to talk to the scumbag boss.
"Kuroshibo, what's wrong?"
Muzan Kibutsuji had left the laboratory and transformed into the appearance of eight- or nine-year-old boys, sitting in chairs reading books. By the candlelight, his blood-red eyes were tinged with a warm color, making him look like an ordinary child.
"Muzan, sir, it's not... the Blue Spider Lily."
One of Iwakatsu's eyes turned into a red vertical pupil, and he knew that Kibutsuji Muzan was watching through his vision.
"Tsk, what a useless intelligence agent."
Muzan Kibutsuji visibly began to get irritable, and veins slowly appeared on his youthful face.
"Do we need subordinates to continue the search?"
Iwakatsu, seemingly oblivious to his emotions, asked calmly. He was just giving a perfunctory answer, hoping that Kibutsuji Muzan would understand his meaning.
"Okay, Kokushibo, you stay there and continue your investigation. I'll come over when I'm done."
"Yes." Good, he doesn't understand what I mean.
With deadpan eyes, Iwakatsu asked the shop assistant about the bowl he had his eye on, and wrote it down as Muzan Kibutsuji's bill.
"Hello, where should this be delivered to?"
"Please deliver this to Hoshino's house."
"Okay, no problem. Next time we collect other rare and interesting items, we'll invite you to visit."
"good."
Yan Sheng paid the money and left the luxurious and exquisite Treasure Pavilion. He found that although it was remote, it was very lively, with many people coming and going.
Following the crowd, Yan Sheng looked around. Seeing what appeared to be a circle ahead, Yan Sheng sensed a familiar presence.
"You think you're so great just because you're a samurai?"
A rough voice rang out, indicating that something had happened. Yan Sheng blinked and silently followed the crowd. Taking advantage of his height, Yan Sheng immediately saw the center of the fire. He maintained a blank expression, but his attention was completely focused there.
What? What happened?
Yan Sheng looked over with the curiosity of a curious child and found that two people were being attacked for trying to dine and dash. Yan Sheng watched with great interest, never expecting that the stall owner's wife, who seemed so gentle and refined, would be so eloquent.
Wow, they've started fighting.
As Yan Sheng watched, the crowd around him grew larger and larger.
"boom--."
Startled, Yan Sheng, who was concentrating intently, looked up in the direction of the sound. But those around him seemed oblivious, continuing with their own activities. It seemed the sound was faint, and most assumed it was something falling over.
Yan Shengxiu's brows furrowed slightly. His hearing as a demon made it clear that there were signs of a fight in the distant woods, accompanied by the aura of a demon.
Who's so bold as to cause trouble here? Iwakatsu remembers Muzan Kibutsuji saying something like to keep things quiet for a while. This place is so close to the city center, which demon is so reckless?
Iwakatsu had a deep understanding of the layoffs by the scumbag boss, even though he had been involved himself. Iwakatsu hadn't really wanted to get involved and was just about to watch the show when a transparent blue task window popped up.
Temporary mission: Rescue Tamayo
"ah?"
Iwakatsu was dumbfounded. Wasn't Tamayo in the Treasure Pavilion? Iwakatsu looked at the mission and then thought of the loud noise that had just occurred.
No way, no way!
Iwakatsu pushed through the crowd and sped upstream; he had to go check on her. The fact that a mission had been issued meant Tamayo was truly in danger, and he couldn't let anything happen to her.
After leaving the crowd, Yan Sheng turned around and jumped onto the roof, leaping across through the clear view.
As fewer and fewer pedestrians appeared around, Iwakatsu jumped from the rooftop to the ground and rushed quickly into the woods. He could see Tamayo, dressed in a dark purple kimono, staggering as she ran away.
"Huff, huff..."
She ran, her once elegant hairstyle now somewhat disheveled, and kept looking back as she went around.
Two dark figures were moving quickly behind them. In the shadowy woods, the shadowy blades illuminated by the moonlight flickered, revealing their positions.
"Quick, chase after that ghost!"
"Damn it! Her blood demon magic is a bit sinister."
As the dark figure drew closer, a bright yellow lightning bolt flashed rapidly. Yan Sheng could see the man raise his silver-gleaming Nichirin Blade and swung it down sharply.
"Boom—".
Tamayo tripped over a tree branch, narrowly avoiding a fatal blow. The blast wave propelled her to the right, where she rolled twice on the ground before crashing heavily into a thick tree.
"cough--."
Tamayo felt a sharp pain in her back that blurred her vision, and she couldn't help but cough up blood. She tried to support herself, but she was powerless. She could only see someone walking towards her based on the blurry shadows.
"Breathing of Thunder, First Form: Thunderclap Flash".
A bright yellow light accompanied the blade's shadow as it rushed towards Tamayo, striking her neck with a crackling sound of lightning.
"when--."
Tenkaho Ukai's attack was abruptly stopped. He could see a figure blocking his way, his Nichirin Blade obstructed by a chipped purple blade. The eye on the blade was damaged, tightly shut by the Nichirin Blade's aura. In Tenkaho Ukai's vision were a kimono with purple snake scales and black hexagonal patterns, and a pale neck with flame patterns.
"Tear".
Iwakatsu arrived at the last moment. In his haste, he leaned forward and raised his Nichirin Blade to block the attack. The opponent's lightning burned Iwakatsu's newly arrived kimono to shreds.
"Breath of the Moon - First Form - Dark Moon Palace".
Yan Sheng pressed down hard, and his blade slashed out, severing the opponent's breathing technique. The shockwave from the contact between the two severed the surrounding trees.
As the dust settled, the two sides stood facing each other, the moonlight illuminating the unobstructed space. Iwakatsu also clearly saw the Demon Slayer Corps members being pursued by the other side.
"Jikoku Iwasaki." Tenfang Yuhai?
